I've owned a rare and exotic houseplant nursery for years i can give you great recommendations on some great beginner house plants. Alot of key to growing houseplants are their soil mixes and drainage. Also humidity especially for prayer plants.. You've taught me so much about flowers and outdoor gardening that me and my son are getting into and I really enjoy and appreciate your videos. The ficus like to dry out the variegated rubber tree one you were looking at are gorgeous but more prone to rust fungus just be sure not to keep the soil too wet more like succulent same with sanseveria tons of varieties of sanseveria i grow white a variety i love so much. Pothos are a perfect beginner and so many varieties now. The silver pothos are actually scindapsus. They mislabeled alot at home depot these are one of my absolute favorites. I wouldnt recommend cacti and succulents as house plants unless you have big bright windows or grow lights. Euphorbias can do great as houseplants and grow very quickly. I love euphorbia trigona rubras❤ aloe do pretty good as house plants. Terra cotta potted house plants typically dry out quicker and will get build up of minerals on sides of the pot. Also superthrive I would highly recommend water with when repotting new houseplants. ❤ zz plants I highly recommend I love the raven and chameleon variety you rarely have to water the more you neglect them the better they do😂 growing any alocasia inside place in groups and definitely a humidifier nearby also alot of them tend to go dormant in fall and some people think they die but they will grow back in spring. Monstera are great house plants also if you can find a tetrasperma they call them mini monstera and trellis beautifully and prolific growers. Cyclamen I don't recommend at all

Hi Pamela, Thank you SO much for this comment and advice on houseplants. I appreciate it so much! I'm newer to house plants so I have alot to learn. I've learned the hard way to back off on water. I've also decided that most Calathea's are very fussy, and I think I just found a spot where my fiddle leaf fig is happy, its been in this spot for about 3 months now, and its put out 3 new leave buds I found this week! Thanks for the appropropriate name for the plant I thought to be silver pothos. Its beautiful, and I'm really enjoying it. Monstera are so cool! thanks for the suggestion. Thanks again!! Have a great weekend!
