barry waskewitch I dance similar and i think people seriously underestimate how much energy it takes to stay that poised throughout the day. It really takes a lot out of you if you’re not in practice, which is why I practice whenever I can. Kitchen, parking lot, standing in line, you name it!
I remember i met Kess Thompson at Rocky Boy 2019 and encouraged him to go to wellpinit Washington to try out the big chicken special and he made top 10 and plus alot of people bid on him to win the Calcutta. I know talent when i see it
The correct term would be regalia because this is our culture, not a dress up party. My apologies if that sounds rude, I can’t think of another way to word it
Not to be called a Costume they are not dressing up as someone else. That could be taken as an insult but we are here to banish your ignorance, and educate.
See all those women Bud ...that not Prairie chicken Got their step going on. Great job even my wife pointing. Time to go ..yes sir if my cooking don't keep her I'm not the one going hungry. 🤣😅
The chicken damce has an interesting story behind it. A hunter killed a Prairie chicken, the spirit of the chicken came back to ask the hunter why he killed him. The hunter explained he needed food for his family and the chicken recognised this and asked the hunter to honor him with a dance. So this dance serves a reminder, of the sacrafices made by nature to feed you.
Man, that guy with the feather mohawk going on has some pretty solid moves in that subtle kind of way. Really enjoyed seeing his syle.
for sure... i was wishing he would stay within the group... but he ventured to the outer rim when he danced... his style was interesting indeed
True he was a delight to watch. Now that is chicken dancing ol style👍
