Dr Hirsh. Just a couple of points from a clinical nutrition perspective. Vitamin D is fat soluble And should be taken with meals specifically some thing with fats like olive oil. Magnesium oxide is not well metabolized. Better to refer people to magnesium bisglycinate.

Turmeric for hot flashes too! I like vitamin D with K2, magnesium glycinate at bedtime, sometimes delayed released melatonin (acts more like circadian rhythm).

Thank you for your information. Just FYI vitamin D3 has to be taken with vitamin K2. Magnesium oxide is less bioavailable. Magnesium oriotate penetrates the blood brain barrier so those who have migraines would benefit. Hope this helps. Also, vitamin B6 can cause a neuronopathy so be careful on the dosage. If you have diabetic neuropathy, a preparation such as Benfotiamine can help to a small degree in preventing progressive diabetic poly neuropathy.

I've tried other brands that were cheaper but did not work nearly as good as this one.You only have to take One A Day with a meal and your body and joints will feel so much better. Just go on Costco and check out the reviews you will be very very surprised it what a great supplement this is. I've been taking it for years I am not one who takes prescription medications or many supplements I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and refused to take the medication and doing intermittent fasting and this supplement has helped dramatically. I also take 5000 IU of vitamin D3.

The only nutrient I have not tried yet is Mg, so I'm gong to give that a try to see if it improves my sleep. My question about supplements for you is, what about herbal supplements? I read a systematic review of some studies on Ashwaganda that showed it MIGHT improve sleep quality and overall energy level, but that it is generally well tolerated with no reports of adverse effects. Have you ever worked with this supplement? Are there any other supplements, herbal or otherwise, that you could recommend for quality of sleep and concentration/brain fog?
