I rescued a Red Nose pit from some bikers back in the 80's. They wanted "a fighting dog". He didn't have fight in him. Given the chance, I would clone that guy for the rest of my life. Gentle. wonderful, dedicated, and nowhere in that animal was "dangerous". I miss him everyday.
That's exactly what people don't get with pits. Dog fighters consider one puppy being aggressive enough to be more than a bait dog out of a litter of 8 and then that one litter out of 8 other litters a success.
I'm so sorry for your loss, I know how hard it is.
That doesn't mean all pits are like that in fact very few...🙂

Your a great person TY for sharing 🙏❤️
I just ran into one the other day sitting in the middle of a dirt road , so I stopped to see what was up and he came right to me . I have not been around pit bulls so I was a little leery at first , he had a harness on with a name tag so I held him by it to read the tag . He was so strong and had this huge head with a cute smile. As we called the number on the tag the owner pulled up and thanked us for watching out for him . He was on a walk and decided he did not want to go any further and sat down so dad went home got the van to bring him home . His name was Domino such a handsome boy :-) so yeh pit bulls get a bad wrap but this one was a lover boy , like any dogs it has a lot to do with how you raise them .
No shame about being leery at first, you should always be leery of any dog you dont know. It doesnt mean you think they are going to up and kill you but who knows maybe they are afraid of you so they do get aggressive, normal reaction.
I love how the dad went to get the van to bring Domino home instead of making him walk!
That was so nice of you to make sure he was ok... bless your heart.
You can’t leave any kind dog behind but especially a pit bull. That’s a bad owner. Luck was with that dog not a good very smart pit owner.
Exactly!! My Trixie is very docile, sweet & friendly . . . until she's sees a cat or an opossum - then the dog in her really comes out!!
Ah I love his eyes 👀 they are so expressive. This ladies personality is the best and her new best doggy friend totally gets her ☺️🥰❤️🐕❤️🐕❤️
My girlfriend and I adopted a pit that looks like Ted, she’s so well behaved and so kind. But people give us the craziest looks and cross the street when they see us out walking. It’s sad that’s there is such a negative stigma around them.
My rescue dog I got from the pound years ago was guessed at being a lab mix. I figured she was mixed with Mastiff. After running a DNA test, turns out I was partially correct, she's got Mastiff, Walker Coonhound, German Shepherd and Pittbull in her. Most gentle, laid back dog I've ever had.
Indominus rex of dogs!!!

@@wileygoddard4181 Yes they are. Just pure joy to have around.
He's lovely and is so glad you got him !
He is a beautiful boy. Super sweet.
I was one of those people, until a skinny Pittie came walking up to my front door. He was so skinny I named him Bones. The most loving dog I have ever seen.
It only takes one loving Pittie to change a mind. I totally understand where you're coming from. You did Bones a favor by giving him a loving home.❤ I had a pitbull that I adopted a few years ago but he wasn't with me very long, sadly enough. His name is freeway and he got sick . I had him for 2 years and we made the best of it. Now I have two more that I adopted and they are very sweet and loving. They're the center of my world. Give Bones a hug for me...❤🐾✌
We lost our pitbull just a few days short of Xmas '22 to nephritis and it was especially hard because we had just lost our black lab mix to old age just days before Thanksgiving that same year. My dad took him in six years earlier after he was dumped off at the shop that he ran. According to someone living in that area at the time who'd seen Roman around before, someone tied firecrackers to his tail so naturally he hated loud noises. If it was thundering outside or someone was lighting fireworks in the summer, he'd just jump onto any of our laps and tremble. Beside that, you couldn't tell he was mistreated at all judging by his temperament. The only thing he ever did wrong was bark a lot.
I think about all my animals who are no longer with me in this life everyday but it really does piss me off how in today's day in age with all the work people have done to break the stigma surrounding pitbulls, people CHOOSE to remain ignorant.
Every Pit I’ve ever met has been an absolute sweet heart. I’ve literally had them fall asleep in my arms upside down like a baby. Like truly asleep and passed out. And these have all been my friends dogs; dogs that only see me ever so often. Yet they’re that rad and loving when I stop by. Pits are awesome. People suck.
Well there's a reason why that breed are responsible for the majority of dogs attacking behavior.
@@cv-xu5cs I would just look into those studies a bit more. A majority of dogs implicated in those type of incidents are in fact not pitbull-type breeds or they’re numerous different mixed breeds that have been misidentified as "pitbulls" or pitbull-type dogs. The most recent scientific peer-reviewed studies found that each of the four unique pitbull-type breeds account for approximately 2.5% of fatal dog attacks (or a total of 10% as a group, to be fair). But, importantly, the dog bite-related fatality risk rate for pitbull-type dogs is fully in-line with other strong breeds of similar sizes and strengths when considering breed population sizes. It’s just that a ton of bites get attributed to Pit-bulls when, in fact, the dog has no Pit-Bull DNA. It just looks like one so it gets misidentified.
@@cv-xu5cs Hey the reason is the negative people hands they fall into. It's not breed fault It's people.
Pitbulls were originally bred for bloodsports.
It is true that people tried to use them as nanny dogs to guard their children.
But the problem soon became that the Pitbulls actually killed many children in the past aswell as present.
And these were NOT pitbulls that were abused.
These were Pitbulls that were raised in loving caring enviroments since they were babies themselves..
But they all had one thing in common - as soon as the Pitbulls grew massive many of them attacked and killed children in the family.

A couple of years ago, a close friend of mine and his girl friend, rescued a mostly black pit bull and named him Tyson. Tyson loves me. I'm his "Uncle Steve". He gets excited when they bring him here to visit me.
Office Teds haircut and glasses are adorable!
I love this mom for how she treats Ted. There is so much love and friendship between them, it’s beautiful to see! Pits are wonderful and I truly feel like their feelings get hurt when people don’t like them. Ted is wonderful and clearly thriving with all his love and Excel classes!
These 2 were just made for one another!! 😎 Ted is just as goofy as she is 🙂 Now THAT is the pure definition of soulmates! Hands down!!!
I sometimes worry about the “other” dog in these videos though.
I wonder if they’re ever like, “Oh, I guess we know who Mum’s favourite is, then.”
My dog found me 10 yrs ago and started training me from the first night that I saw him running up the street with a full size Doberman. I assumed she was his mom, because he looks like a min-pin. We went after her as soon as I got a collar and leash on him, but we never found her and no one claimed to know anything about them. I tried for months to find a home for him, but I was growing closer and more worried about him never having a good enough place. Now he is sick and going through some issues, but I'm praying that he gets to stay in my life for a few more years. Without him,I have no urge to get up in the morning. He makes me want to see what the day holds for us, and what goofy antics he will come up with. 🙏
My boy, Sputnik, is also a pitbull cross staffie. He's just turned 4. I've had people cross the street to avoid him. Avoid a beautiful, kind, sweet, boy, who hasn't got a bad bone in him. The neighbours have a little boy, he's also 4, and him and Sput roll around the front yard together. His mum hasn't got a worry in the world with them. We go to a large, off leash, dog park, here in our bit of Australia. He just loves it. He is friends with every dog and owner there. All he wants to do, is run, swim, play tug of war with a stick, and score treats. Plus there's his girlfriend, Luna. He idolises the ground she walks on. It was love at first sight. I love my boy. He's asleep on his recliner now, as we've just got home from the park.
"on his recliner" 👏🏽
I wish i could meet you and your boy, Sputnik as you guys sound like my kind of animal. Cheers from Canada
🙏🥰 .. GOD BLESS you Shane and your beautiful boy Sputnik❣️
I had a pit cross as a teen. Amazing , loyal , smart .
They truly are wonderful pups for the people who show them love.
These two are way too cute together, I love her sense of humor..Good human!!
Whenever I see a pittie or staffie I cross the road...... and ask if I can give a fuss. The answer is nearly always yes. Wonderful pups, one day I'll have my own again
I could watch them interact all day.
Those beautiful goofy eyes. Lovely Ted.
You have used all the colors of the rainbow in loving him! He is a sentient being and is lucky to be called by you. Loved by you!! Thank you!!
I've always had labradors and haven't had to deal with that many negative interactions. Anyway after a year of my 2 labs passing someone asked me if I would take their 9 year old rescued pit used as a bait dog as they had started working away and couldn't keep him. Obviously I said yes but I never expected the constant negativity he and I got in a way I've never experienced with the labs. It got so frustrating I thought I'd end up shouting at someone I found him a green bandana with Friendly in big black capitals sewn onto it and thankfully it worked, now he even gets to play with little dogs who are his absolute favourites, presumably because he doesn't feel threatened by them.
Lmao.! That's awesome, actually it's JUST LIKE THAT! You have to hang a sign people can read because they are the witches of this century.! Pretty smart. Isn't it absolutely, unnecessarily ridiculous how people make this breed out to be monsters?
Thank God the former Pit owner asked you the perfect person to take doggy! I've only been around Pits it would be the only breed I would get and I forget about the negativity. If raised right they are like any other dog. The owners are demented that raise a bad Pit or any bad dog. Not the dog!
@@cindeamulholland6338 I'm not sure I'm perfect but I couldn't love this dog any more than I do and I totally agree it's the owners that are bad not the dogs, my boy is covered in scars from his past and what amazes me is he still likes people and dogs but I wouldn't blame him if he liked neither.
@@cindeamulholland6338 you still spewing negative about pitbull by saying if raised right then they are like any other dog. I understand what you mean but just wanted to point it out. Because any breed of dog that not raised right would be bad news. Any dog that been raised right would be a good dog. Pitbulls are no different than any dog. Just got to be patient and train them. If you treat the pitbull right then he will try his best to please his owner.
@@troy028 the problem with pitties is they have the strength and the ability to lock their jaws down making them lethal IF they are raised to be aggressive. Do not get me wrong ...I love pitties. Not every dog has the ability to actually kill a human or another dog. Unfortunately pitties do. A chihuahua that is aggressive might bite but obv no ability to kill any human. Idiot humans that have taken advantage of and have abused pitties for their evil ways like dog fighting etc...THEY ARE TO BLAME. PURE SCUM IMHO. EVIL degenerate scumbags.

Ted is such a sweet handsome boy 🥺😍❤️
I adopted my pitty from a rescue shelter at 6 months. He is the sweetest dog and my best friend for sure. We know what the other thinks without saying anything. He loves everyone and everything. All the woman I have dated over the years still want to come see him. He is amazing and has forever changed my life. They have such a bad rap for such an amazing breed.
Ted looks like a big bundle of love. He looks a lot like my daughter's dog who also likes to wallow all over them. But if he's napping on you don't pet him...he gets up and walks away annoyed lol.
I love Ted. He is so funny and I can see how much he loves you❤️ I also have an American Pit Bull Terrier named Lily. She keeps me company all day and night. I couldn’t do without her. I talk to her all day like she’s a human because to me she is.
Love Ted's "people eyes." It looks like he has a bit of an expression of permanent consternation. What a cutie.
Ted is really beautiful I'm so glad u could afford to pay for his surgery and save his life I am so glad u decided to keep him it's almost like u saved his life twice I'm so glad he is happy and living his best life thank you for giving Ted the best life possible
I have my own Ted, but his name is Elvis. They could be twins, both in the way they look and the way they act! I am absolutely over the moon in love with Elvis and I know the feeling is mutual. He makes my heart happy. My mother is afraid of all dogs, but especially pitbulls, even though she's never actually had contact with one. It's unfair the stigma that these beautiful, loving creatures have to face. Thank you for sharing this video. It is so cute. I've watched it five times already today. 😄😄😄😄
I met my first pit bull at a friends business many years ago. It was a beautiful grayish color and I could tell before the owner open the glass door to let me in that this dog was DEFINITELY friendly. It was wagging it’s tail back and forth as it was really exciting to greet me. It immediately lowered my inhibitions or fears and myth’s that pities were dangerous. While hanging at my friends shop, we sat down one the floor (3) of us and the dog had to lay in the middle. My only regret was not taking a photo of the moment. Since then I have met 2 other incredible pitties and thinking very hard about adopting one. They have been given a bad rap because of their owners. I am convinced of that. Every pets demeanor is a true reflection of it’s owner. Plain and simply.
Kudos kudos kudos to the owner. She is, hands down, one of the most caring dog owners I’ve seen. The fact that she used $6000 of her own money to see Ted safe and healthy, speaks volumes. How many dog owners could have said the same?
Please, somebody tell me that most of the loving, committed owners would spend the $6K on the life and health of any member of their family. Please!
@@DeeEllEff our fur families are deserving of that. I wonder how many caring and loving families are actually able to pay those sums no matter how much they may actually want to.
Sad to say I lost my pittbull just last week to his bladder and kidneys shutting down and they told me it would be over 1000 just to get him stablized and find out the extent of his issues and I ended up euthenizing him.Was prolly the saddest day of my life and as a disabled person on fixed income it broke my heart knowing that it was money that potentially could have saved my dog....but as my own health continues declining I suppose he will be the last animal I will ever own.
@@rhuulu110 that is so sad, and I feel for your loss. I do wonder why these treatments and procedures are so expensive.
@@rhuulu110 I'm so sorry for the loss of your pup. I, too, am on disability and have limited funds. My last dog had cancer and we did all that we could short of chemo; he lived almost 18 months after his diagnosis and died at age 13. I've adopted two middle-aged cats, a mom and her daughter, as they're easier to care for and generally less expensive than a dog. I adore them like mad, but I sure miss having a dog. Hope you consider a cat or two -- they can be wonderful company.
Aww poor Ted I'm so glad that he got such great Mom, Who couldn't love this Baby! We all want Ted;)
Definition of a perfect pet owner. They didn't choose to be in our lives we chose them and they are not accessories but living sentient beings. Everyone should treat them that way. On another note, I adore her humor and would love to be friends with her lol
She would be a hoot to go walking our dogs with, she's funny!😊
How inspiring to see people who are so sensitive with their furry companions, makes me so happy to watch!
One of the sweetest smartest dogs I met was a pitbull with a giant head. Such a smart sweet dog
How could you not love a dog like him.He so cute and loving
Such a sweet boy. You can tell he really loves his owner. 😂🙏
Wonderful story, once again, GeoBeats!! This woman is a beautiful example of what a pet owner should be. She seems devoted to Ted because, as she said, "he didn't ask to be in your life, YOU made the decision for him to be in your life." When you adopt a pet, ITS FOR LIFE!!
False! A dog owner should not put silly whigs and glasses on the dog just because she thinks it makes a pretty picture for her Instagram account.
This absurd behaviour especially of women-dog owners is stupid, infantile, grotesque.
Let the dog be a dog and treat him like a dog, not like your personal Instagram-doll.
@@marionickel2616, you have issues.
What a truly lovely boy!
I used to believe those bad stories about pit bulls, but after many years of watching dogs, I know it’s not true, when these dogs are raised with love! They are just as sweet as any other dog! They were onced called “Nanny dogs”, since the were so good, and protective of “their kids”!!
They are smart, and they are people-pleasers, which makes them _trainable._
That’s why they’re chosen as fighting dogs, not because they’re more aggressive. They don’t wanna fight, but they’re forced to, and they’ll do it, to please their human.
Calling a dog who’s forced to fight aggressive is like calling a woman forced into sex trafficking a slut.
Let that sink in.
Oh Ted is an awesome boy! And it's SO wonderful that Pam was able to save his life, both through adopting and then through a very expensive surgery! 🙌🏽 They are so sweet together. ❤
I used to go to work in a house where there were 2 boxers, 1 pit bull and a pit bull boxer cross. I had to climb the cellar stairs to get to the kitchen, where I was greeted by these 4 big dogs. The only thing I ever worried about was that in their jubilance, they might accidently knock me down, which they never did. Well behaved, and much more manageable, than 2 small poodles. I was not brought up to be a dog person, but these dogs were good smart obedient citizens. They get my vote.
I’m the proud aunt to 7 precious pitties. They are so sweet and quiet. You would never know they were there because they rarely bark and they just love to show affection.
Love it! I never had this breed before. I adopted my 2 from rescue groups which labeled their breed as Boxer and Boston Terrier.🤔. They have a hint of those breeds but not much. But our two pitties are the sweetest, funniest, kissiest pooches I’ve ever had. 💞🥰
I've heard that rescues and some nice pet daycares and pet groomers will write their breed as a mix of bigger/ bulkier breeds such as those so that people don't make assumptions and for the protection if the dog and service from people seeking to force them out because of dumb breed specific laws. It's almost always about the environment they grew up in and pitties are just disproportionately unlucky in that department.
Thank you for loving him and giving him a happy life. He is so precious
I volunteer in a shelter that is sadly full of pit bull mixes- and I have seen hundreds come through. They are my favorite breed by far. They are just like any other dog that wants to be cuddled and loved, and they are held to such a higher standard than any other dog. I wish people gave them a chance. Ted is a great champion for all pitbulls. ❤️
So happy that there is someone like you out there that actually cares about animals.

They are really great dogs. I have 4. People are uneducated about the breed. While it is In their natural instinct to be aggressive towards each other and other animals, they were specifically bred that way because of what they were used for,, it is not in their natural instinct to be aggressive towards humans. Most people with outwardly aggressive pits train them that way on purpose.

I've been around dogs all my life. I have had dogs all my life, and though I have never had a Pit or a Staffordshire of my own, in the nearly 50 years that I have been around I have been associated with dozens of them. I have also fostered several Pits for up to a couple months at a time in the past. I would put my name in a nano second with 100% confidence on the fact that they are "without" question among the most loving, intellegent family friendly breeds I have ever been around. They are also among the most loyal breeds I have ever encountered if not the most. Now they aren't for everyone as with any breed, some are very high energy as pups and young adults and they are also "extremely" strong little dogs which may not suit everyone understandably, however they are compatible with anyone who wants to be compatible with them, and if they are not a compatible breed for someone I guarantee it's not because of the dogs nature. It's ironic that there is Dalmation in the blood lines, and that it's the Pit, people are concerned with. I have been around many of them as well and they are a wonderful breed in there own right, however as a family dog, especially one with small children, I would never recommend a Dalmation. I would however have no issue recommendimg a Staffordshire or a Pit Bull to anyone ever. I'm not saying Dalmations won't and don't make good family dogs because I have seen them and they certainly can, but in general they are not patient with small children and there dispositions (again in general) are not anywhere near as good natured to that of a Pit. That being said people are always going to judge what they don't know or understand, for good and bad and with blind ignorance. The important thing I believe is the relationship you have with each other. If you make each other happy then it's a match made in heaven, and I believe that goes for any breed. Pits however certainly are amazing dogs and it's sad because not only does the breed unjustly suffer, but those people who choose to be stubborn are missing out on one of the most amazingly wonderful breeds we have. Maybe even better than there very own....
Beautifully articulated Charles 🥰❣️
@@SonnetsMom Well thank you dear. 🥰
@@charlesbr7684 She just have a mixed dog . The APBT is the only real pit bull . The English Staff and the Old Family Irish dog made the APBT .
@@rawjan39 I think you have completely missed the entire point, but yes so far as breeding goes you are absolutely correct. 🥴
@@charlesbr7684 I’m speaking on the Dalmatian and the Am staff . That’s just a mixed dog . The APBT is the only real pit bull. The Am staff has APBT way back in their peds because the Am staff started off as a APBT
My wish and prayers are that all animal guardians were as loving and dedicated you are! Blessings! 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
They are the sweetest, most loyal & loving souls❤❤❤
What a great dog. You are so lucky.
People like you make the world a better place. Thank you!
What a sweet, good boy! You are both wonderful ambassadors. Thank you for such a lovely inspiring video. ❤️
What a "Love Bug", he's too cute!
Ted is a sweetie. Try using the name St. Francis Terrier. If they aren't trained to kill and bred for dog fighting, they are generally very lovely pets. So much breed discrimination.
Ted comes across as a very KNOWING dog, he seems unique and I think people have biased views about such breeds because they don't understand them.
That's not quite accurate. A fighting dog will most often be culled by his enslaver for showing aggression towards people. They know they've created a monster that they couldn't handle if the dog had a mind for revenge.
I'm also pushing back on calling them something else. Giving them a softer friendlier name is deceptive. People think they're getting some sedate puppy when they aren't. There are several dead cats and a wounded horse in San Francisco because of that exact complacency, not to mention all the pitties that were returned to the shelter. Instead of rebranding them, how about we do our best to show them as they are? It's not like that would be a hard sell. The only people afraid of my Brotato are the ones who refuse to meet him.
There are over 350 breeds of dogs. 65% of fatalities from dog attacks come from 1 breed- pit bulls. You can accuse people of being discriminatory all you want. What you can't do is expect anyone to care about your choice of dog, how sweet your dog is.
@@jimdavis1566 99% of dog attacks are mixed dogs mislabeled as Pit bulls . Including this dog . The only and real pit bull is the APBT
@@jimdavis1566 Yet the most dog breeds, who are aggressive towards people and bites them, are small dog breeds like Chihuahuas. But no one gives a shit about that, because they're so small.
One of the greatest dogs I ever had in my life was a pitt bull & he wasn't even mine...but I loved him & he loved me...my mom was a detective in NYC...she always said that you could tell a person by how well they got along with kids & animals ..
I've got a Blue Brindle Pitty named Gwen who has an almost identical personality to your Ted. Those puppy clips were almost too much cuteness
Love this story, lovely girl and Ted is just the sweetest goofiest boy. I rescued two Pitbulls and they are my family. So loving and funny. I also have two cats who grew up with them from kittens so they are all 8 years old now and I wouldn't be without them 😊❤️❤️
You are a wonderful person and great dog mom! Thanks for shining a light on what good dogs pitties are - as you pointed out so well, ALL dogs need structure, training, exercise, proper socialization and love.... to be good canine citizens.
Amen! The statement that you're living life BY a higher standard is just perfect. I had a couple of pit puppies in my 20s and I fell in love with this breed because they were so smart and easy to housebreaking. They were always lovable and funny, and they are great chill partners. I once bought full grown pit for protection and intimidation because it that time I drove all night in project. She was scary until you got close and then she loved all over whoever was there. Boy was she cool but she could not be trained to STOP LOVING PEOPLE!!!!
Two lovely souls.
Pitties live to love and please their humans! Absolutely loving babies ❤️
I have had vicious fights with my family about how horrible it is for them to judge all pitbulls as being dangerous. I have yet to convince them, but this video is a wonderful addition to my arsenal of examples of why not all pitbulls are aggressive and dangerous. This whole video is just beautiful and heartwarming
Ditch the family.
Adopt a Pittie.
It's hard to convince people when all they see is the negative stuff going on. Ted is the spitting image and personality of my first pittie. She was a goofball, happy & so sweet. She shied away from other dogs who showed aggression. It really has to do with being a responsible owner, spending the time needed to train them, giving them structure, and boundaries. I was intent on making her an ambassador for pitties and staffies, just like this lady. I never gave up on mine. She became my constant companion and sidekick. She was the best dog I've ever had and I miss her every day.
The problem comes into play when the wrong people get their hands on them, when they mistreat/abuse, don't train, don't pay attention to the red flags, and/or train them to be guard dogs. Thanks for being an open-minded advocate for them.
Sadly it's people who make them aggressive.
Wherever my dad is now (he died) he'd be saying "I told you so" and how right he was. Our staffie X is the funniest most loving (sometimes very stinky) "little man" also called Ted too and we love him to bits - and it's returned in spades.
Have you watched The Dodo Pittie Nation? Full of amazing videos about Pitties.
All the story's/videos in the world can't change some people... But... As soon as you meet or own one that's it... A furever love...
I see the thumbnail: How can anybody dislike this dog? He's got a pure soul. Just look at him.
I love this woman for many reasons, 💓 and mostly for how she treats her dogs.
Thank you Pam for rescuing Ted, fostering him & brother & getting Ted through such a dire surgery. Wonderful video. Made me smile just seeing Ted, his brother & Lullaby too. Wish you all many years of happiness, good health & love. ❤❤🐾🙏
