- I love metal detecting, it's the hobby that just keeps on giving. I love sharing my finds & love competing with my Dad, the cameraman. Gordon introduced us to this hobby & the three of us enjoyed some great times with light hearted banter but always delighted for each other’s successes. We sadly lost Gordon in June 2022 & he leaves a huge hole in our detecting adventures BUT we continue, hoping he is watching over us. I’m now using his trusty digging tool hoping it brings me some luck!

Nice one guys! Congratulations on the Antonine coin! I think the “bell” looking thing is actually a top rail fitting for chain link fence. At least that’s what they look like in the States. Awesome stuff!

Good work guys, absolutely brilliant find for cameraman, not just Roman silver, but old Roman silver! How did you guys get on this Sunday? Big old field, must be some other cool stuff to find there. Bit of an issue with picture quality in this one, looks like the project was exported / uploaded at 480p. You want to aim to upload the best picture quality as possible. I would be aiming for 4K (3840 x 2160) if I was you. Keep it up
Cheers Gareth, sorry for the late reply, didn’t realise I uploaded it in a lower quality, probably why it took hardly any time to export 😂. We had an insane day last Sunday, 4 hammereds and loads of artefacts!

Dad's find is a Tudor Dress Fastener, the Female Part of one, the Male Part would have had the Hook.

Hey Paddy, why don't you wear a Bodycam these days? It would also give your poor Father a break so that he could get some more detecting in himself, instead of filming you all the time 😂
