Once upon a time I would have been terrified at anyone touching this song, but he takes it to an even lovelier, dark and exquisite place. And that guitar is reminiscent of Chris Whitely. Sonic transcendence.

If you mention his solo records, like Fate of Nations or Mighty Rearranger and you get "what the fuck are you talking about?". A great many people still picture an English kid in a blouse wailing the blues, instead of the guy who's continually pushed his art form after the demise of one of greatest bands of the 20th century.
