    I bought the Arya Stealth Magnet in November 2021, exactly a year ago. I am loving it and it’s sounding better and better as I use it more and more. Recently, I bought the ZMF Atrium and did an A/B listening and prefers the Arya Stealth. Of course, the ZMF needs more hours to work it up too. With a Gustard R26 coming in a few days, my future is sound!

      @@life_in_solace, I need time to run the Atrium first. As of now, both sounds wonderful because of the Gustard R26 and iFi Pro iCAN Signature combo. I’m so excited with the R26 I’m switching headphone after headphone.

      @@life_in_solace The Atrium has a wider sound stage, better instrument separation, less melding in the mid treble and mid bass, and more natural, rich less grainy/smoother mid range. The Aryas are more resolving, and more of a "wall of sound", also faster and more impact.

    • @BillyKueekSG
      @BillyKueekSG Pƙed rokem +1

      To me, the Atrium is good for critical listening to hear the details - details of instruments, staging. The Arya Stealth is my current favorite, it’s soothing to listen to it for hours without realizing time passes by. Also, specific to me, I broke my spine in 5 sections and have screw and titanium plates at my C5/6/7 sections which is my neck area so I can feel the weight of the Atrium. For me. The Arya was better value for money or perhaps, I just prefer the planar sounds. Also, the Gustard R26 R2R matched with the iFi Pro iCAN Signature gives me some options for the sound. I use my MacBook Pro so no EQ. Wants to explore Roon via LAN with the R26 as I am currently on Apple Music but I have a tough decision if I want to switch to Tidal or Qobuz because I love many Asian/Chinese songs.

      I disagree. I like the cyberpunk genre & 100% the game, it wasn’t bad just expected more from the anime. It was too sped up, multiple things not fleshed out, almost like they didn’t have the budget or patience. Was also anti-climactic & juvenile. For those reasons, 6.5/10. Being that this is an audio channel, what it did have is two of my favorite tracks from the game "I Really Want to Stay at Your House" & "Major Crimes" perfect sound-pieces to set the themes, albeit overplayed in the anime.

    I recently sold these for the HEK V2. Slightly smaller stage, but better instrument separation, more resolving, and much more natural mid treble. HEK V2 can be a little too sizzly in the top end with some tracks. There is a grainy, almost hollowness in the mids that always bugged me with the Aryas. But everything is else about the Aryas are excellent. Great value

      Arya V2 is great - if you have the amp for it (preferably discrete Class A or AB). These don't have the bass or soundstage out of the box (even after playing around with EQ) I was told they'd have over the M1060, using the same amplification I used with the M1060 (a Dragonfly Red). I'm hoping the silver plated cable I bought for the M1060, a Dekoni pad upgrade and an upgrade to a Chord Mojo or Mojo 2 will wake 'em up. Recommendations for which Dekoni pad to get are welcome. @@maxwellwagoner-watts4747 3.5 "se"?...
      At the moment I'd rather not have to replace the expensive custom silver-plated cable I had made for my M1060 so a couple of days ago I already bought from ebay a pair of simple 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapters so the 5XX can use it. I want to hear what that sounds like first on a good replacement AIO DAC/amp upgrade like the Mojo and only if I hate that will I replace the cable & amp and probably go balanced early. Plus a stack just seems bulky to me. I prefer amps with good internal DACs included for space saving and convenience. Also, the Zen Signature stack is $900 retail here. I can get a used Mojo for $4-500 AUD. There's even talk of a 2.5mm balanced mod called the "Ryuzoh Mod" I'm looking into. But anyway I saw a video a number of years ago from Steve Guttenberg that the notoriously power hungry LCDi4 sounds pretty darn good over the original Mojo, back when it released so I can't imagine the 5xx wouldn't. Thanks for the advice though. I'll definitely go balanced at some stage. Just wanna get a little more use out of this custom cable before I bin her.

I get the sense that with the Stealth Magnet technology, it tends to oversmoothen things kind of like Anti-aliasing in a videogame. I felt with the Arya, the antialiasing was cranked up to ultra levels producing an overly sanitized unnaturally clinical sound. The Ananda dials that back a bit to where it’s just right and delivers a more natural and musical tonality. I did find both the Arya and Ananda to be equally treble happy which can make them fatiguing (although nothing that a bit of EQ couldn’t mitigate) and ultimately I think I prefer my Sundara and Verum One overall for pure enjoyment and comfortable listening. But the soundstage capabilities of the egg shaped Hifiman are fun for orchestral and classical. And Sunglasses at Night is a fun track on the Ananda to show off its wide soundstage :)

      @@AliArghavan soundstage is the reason to buy Arya though, if you wanna phones that sound similar but aren't as good at stageing and imaging get whatever German high impedance dynamic; the biggest problem with original Arya is it's amp requirement, they are really sensitive to poor input to output gain mismatch so all feed forward and nested feedback amps are out of the question, with maybe the exemption of really high end stuff benchmark makes, they don't like class a/b either unless it's really powerful (+8w) because they create relatively high constant load which makes class a/b distort, the cheapest amp that works with them is RebelAmp, and it works surprisingly well, if someone asked me to price the Rebel when paired with Arya I would guess +2k$ since it can dance with amps in that price range like flagship stuff from audio-gd.

    • @Sebastian_Athea
      @Sebastian_Athea Pƙed rokem +1

      @@AliArghavan wide soundstage by it self isn't that unique to Arya, HD800 are just as good at that, Original Arya is so good because it has wide soundstage paired with holographic imaging, they can place the sounds all around you, Aria is the soundstage of HD800 with imaging of Elear mashed together, plus a bit of ethereal signature. I do agree the power requirement for original Arya is a bit of the myth since class a RebelAmp can drive them with "only" 1 watt, the problem is other topologies have issues running at high power all the time which is what Arya requires, they loose the detail on class A/B that's not powerful enough (aka most of them), and they lose imaging on nested feedback or feed forward amps. Stealth is much less amp picky but it completely loses it's holographic imaging, it does have a bit better timbre if you care about it though. I would also like to add that people who wear earrings have significantly worse 3D audio perception or completely lose it, the soft part at the bottom of the ear is there for for determining if sound is coming above, below or behind you, if you mess with it you damage 3D hearing.

    • @Ezees23
      @Ezees23 Pƙed rokem +1

      That's inaccurate. Most of those "reports" of smaller staging on the Stealth were a result of fresh out of the box impressions. Both are Aryas and both have similarly large stages - it just takes some time to burn in/play in for the Stealth's stage to expand properly. I had them side by side and they're virtually the same - but the Stealths imaging, layering, and dynamics were all more distinct and more developed in comparison to the V2......
