Slipknot knocked this album out of the park. I've been a fan since 99 and they never cease to amaze me. The Power in Corey's vocals are unmatched.
Even all these years later too, it's impressive
Corey Taylor's rhythmic vocals and the immense pain and emotion throughout really makes this song stand out for me. The "you" in the phrase "That's what 'You' do best" gives me chills. The lyrical content in this album is extremely relatable to me at a point where I thought I was over my depression. I'm happy this band is killing it so many years after being a savior for me when i was young.

Like I said before, the entire album is a masterpiece. This is the classic Slipknot mixed with new sound. In the chorus it's all Corey singing which shows just how much his voice has improved.
I listened to Iowa and self-titled again after listening to WANYK. I mean... man... I think I'm putting WANYK on top... I don't know
@@mikkocruz9331 What?!? That's insane đ€Ł self titled especially and iowa are slipknot masterpieces. With Joey and Paul, it's a sound that they will never create again. WANYK is good but it's not on the same level in my opinion.
The whole album? Really? There are deffinatley some filler songs and duds in this album. Spiders(filler), Liars Funeral(filler) just two examples. Red flag and Solway Firth are my stand out favourites đ„ and that's mainly because they dont have the floaty choruses that the others do đ€·ââïž

When I first heard that chorus, my jaw dropped. Was not expecting that at all. Might be my favorite song on the album.

The first time you hear the chorus it does throw you off but the more times you listen to it it grows on you then you can't imagine it without it

Most probably doesn't refer to the italian language, it's closer to " Forte di Nerone", because Nerone in English is Nero

Personally this is the best of the album, with Unsainted a close second.
As a long time Slipknot fan, I have no idea why a lot of people hold Solway Firth in such high regard. For whatever reason, I can't get into it. It's not bad, but I hardly have the desire to listen to it. From the new batch, Nero Forte, Unsainted, Orphan, Not Long For This World, and Spiders are the stand outs.
Hey Italian subscriber here, Nero Forte literally means "strong black" (nero=black forte=strong) and as you can tell that's how you may want your coffee to be. At least coffee is the first thing that comes to my mind when I read that. Not sure that's what they meant when they used it as the song's title tho
Or maybe is like "Forte di Nerone" = Nero Forte, because even tho Nerone is the italian spelling and pronunciation, in English Nerone is called Nero.
@@MegaAxelus Ah dunno, that's a bit of a stretch. I know about the English pronunciation of Nerone, but I stick with my initial idea, it has to do with coffee. Remember that there is also a famous coffee house brand called "Caffe' Nero", although, to be fair, it is British and not from the US.
*I think "Unsainted" has the better chorus, but "Nero Forte" stands out because of the verses, the middle-part ("That's what you do best...") and Jay Weinberg's pinpoint furious magnificent drumplay.*
I love how analythic wolf is and how you feel the music, you compliment eachother beautifully.

"Forte" is also, of course, an instruction to play a section of music loud. Pianississimo (incredibly soft) -> pianissimo -> piano -> mezzo-piano -> mezzo-forte -> forte -> fortissimo -> fortississimo (incredibly loud).
Critical Darling is gonna be a fucking jam for you guys, very groove metal mixed with that generic Slipknot flavor we all love. Its a banger of a song

The emphasised drums in this song sound like the work of "New Guy". When the band announced him, they said the dude is a percussionist, pianist(?) and all round highly educated musician. Clown called him "the real deal". Their old sound heavily rested on Joey's style (the original drummer) and his capabilities. With their newer drummer (Jay Weinberg) and New Guy, I feel they are composing drum beats that are very carefully crafted. The clinical theory-educated background is making an impact.

It's your opinion. It's a perfect "silent" song with great lyrics as well as emotion that speaks volume to people who have gone through a lot. This entire album reminds me of their first 3 albums. A perfect mix with something new as every song plays into the next song as one story.
