- In previous episodes we discovered the sorry state of the camshaft and rockers. Now the rockers have been replaced it's time to change the cam chain; reattach the cylinder head and fit the new camshaft.
However one question remains: will it run? - Auta a dopravní prostředky
My god man, I’m so grateful for you making these videos, it’s so hard to find info on this bike and I got some leaky seals on mine, so it’s nice to see what’s involved in taking the cylinder head off. I’ve never worked on cars or bike so I’m greener than green and you’ve helped a lot. Cheers from Canada!
This warms the cockles of my heart 🤣
This is some really excellent work! please keep it up.
Thanks for that heads up. I've just got the old kwaka going and today I've pulled her down for a clean and from here it's only going to be Great memories. Well done mate..
Hi Alex, nice work, well done in getting her done. I just finished a Z200, lovely little bikes
Thanks!
I relaced the cam as well, but didn't use new followers but had the old ones welded and ground...bad mistake! Chewed the new cam so then I sold the bike.
Nice bike, nice video! Never knew about the reason an exhaust valve has a larger tolerance then an inlet valve. Thanks!
i inherited one of these from my late father, hasn't ran since 1995!
So I have the same bike (1980 kl 250 and I was wondering if you could give me some input on a couple problems I have please
I forgot to connect a hose to the carburetor to communicate with the atmosphere.
How would I go about making the forks shorter on the kl250? I have the same exact bike! But the forks are way too tall for my liking
You should be able to move the forks up in the clamps a little bit -- I wouldn't go too far though, in case you end up catching the mudguard on the wheel!
@@TittertonRacing thanks for the information
Hi man! I can pick this up for 400euros but it doesn't run.. Do you think i should go for it? How much did it cost you to get it up and running?
Hi! For 400€ it could be pretty good, but depends if the engine is seized up or not. If it turns over and has compression, it probably won't take too much to get it running really, sometimes these bikes just need to be used more. If it won't turn over, it's a bit more of a gamble, but tbh if the rest of the bike is solid then you might be able to find a replacement engine from somewhere. It probably cost me about 200€ in parts to get it going, but I didn't have to do all that much - when I had it the bike was running but knocking badly. There's a KL250 Facebook group which is worth joining, lots of knowledgable people on there -- good luck!
@@TittertonRacing Thanks man for the info 😎
where you buy engine parts ?
Mostly eBay, but some parts are a bit tricky to get hold of, especially outside the US...
