The myths of gay parenting + Jubilee's reaction

  • Hey! I've been thinking about this topic for a while so I thought of doing some research and presenting some of it for whoever needs to hear it!
    As I was editing I realised that I use the term "same sex" parents instead of "same gender". This is because that's the terminology that was used in the studies from the different child welfare organisations. I firmly believe that there's no significant difference between parents with different gender or the same gender.
    Here are some of the resources I used to make this video:

      Lol now I just want to write a satirical fiction about the whole world actually turning gay. It would be a Republican nightmare but in reality it would just be normal life with just a bit more rainbows.

    I love the complete ignorance on homosexuality throughout human history. This idea that homosexuality has never been acceptable or normalized in our entire existence is unbearably stupid and outright wrong.

      Its hit or miss, both sides tend to over simplify/misconstrue the subject

      @@gamer1X12 Of course, I only mean that homosexuality has played a part in many cultures and religions with many different caviates that accompanied each view on it. Such as the Romans, where is was perfectly acceptable for a man to want sex with both men and woman as long as he remained the "dominant" participant. The expectations were rarely ideal, but it played its part as it always has and will.

    I was raised by a lesbian couple, and I love my moms. I turned out pretty fine, and any problems I have are unrelated to their parenting. I did turn out gay myself, but my moms didn’t “force” me into it, they just showed unconditional support and made it easy and comfortable for me to come out. They taught me to be kind and understanding to people who are different from me. The only time I have ever even come close to wanting a father was when an elementary school teacher wouldn’t let me make two art projects for Mother’s Day, and even then, I didn’t really want a dad, I just wanted to be treated like everyone else. The only problems in my life that have come from my moms being gay have come from homophobic assholes, not from my parents.

      I’m sorry that even the smallest part of yourself made you feel like you needed to say your mums didn’t force you to be the way you are. I’m sure if anything they gave you the freedom for you to accept yourself. Thanks so much for sharing your story and hope you’re doing well now ❤️ take care

    “It kills me you didn’t have a mother” It kills me you didn’t have both parents, like what do you want her to feel? He’s projecting his own issues onto her when she is perfectly fulfilled

    all these people yapping makes me feel so crazy😭😭 my mum was married to my dad and had me and then they divorced and my mum realised she was a lesbian and got into a relationship with another woman, who she has been with for about 10 years now. I have always felt more comfortable with my mums than with my dad and his new wife, especially since he moved to a house that has no bedroom for me, but my mums have always said to me that no matter if I'm straight, gay, bi, girl, boy, anything in between, they will always love me for who i am. these people who are like "oh well gay parents raise gay kids" don't ever stop to think that maybe the gay parents are more accepting of gay kids?! and certainly if you're unprepared to accept your kid if they turn out to be something other than straight amd cisgender then maybe you shouldn't be having kids 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

    Honestly, I'm always somewhat amused when I hear talking points from conservative couples on raising children when personally, the most f up kids I know are kids who are raised by conservative families (I went to a catholic high school and the majority of the kids have a few screws loose at best).
    Like all their talking points can be debunked one way or another.
    Oh a bond a child form from a mother is different. Okay, studies show that a kid can form the same bond with a dad as well, and lesbian couples exist so the kids can form that sort form of bond with either of the mother. If we put aside statistics and studies like they so vehemently demanded, there's a growing issue amongst heterosexual couples of moms being overly possessive of sons and being overly harsh with daughters because they see their son as a placeholder for the perfect man they didn't get and they have a preconceived notions on how their daughter might turn out so they turn hostile the minute said daughter reach a certain age. I have yet to see this type of relationship between same sex couple but I guess the conservatives just want the talking points that benefits them.
    And yes, the lady talking about the "what if" every household turns gay or whatever then we can't reproduce. She is effectively 1) Ignoring that this hypothesis can not happen at all because homosexuality is a minority, 2) Ignoring the possibilities of a couple/person who has no desire to conceive a child or can not conceive and 3) putting herself/relationship down as a thing only meant for reproduction. And let's not forget that we currently have an overpopulation issue in most countries (minus Japan, Korea,...) and less resources and a lot of kids in the orphanage because heterosexuals can't keep it in their pants. Beyond that, even if there was even a slight chance that the entire human race suddenly turns gay, since this wouldn't be an overnight thing, evolution would clearly kick in or we kick the bucket. It's one or the other and I highly doubt that it's gonna be the latter.
    Then there's the dude who asks if homosexual adopting if for a sort of agenda. Like dude, are we going to ignore the hetero families who adopts kids for clout and content, that's not an agenda thing, that's just being a horrible person, which unfortunately happens everywhere.

      @Lito.Martin  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Omg your argument on the growing issue on heterosexual couples where the sons are overprotected and the daughters are treated with hostility is so spot on 💯 but let’s just ignore that and focus on mammals and imaginary agendas
