  • This video compares the 3 versions of the Rosenwald Tarot that I have. Two by Marco Benedetti and one by Sullivan Hismans.
I think it is interesting to peruse the same deck by different deck creators to see the choices they made whenever a reimagining of a card was necessary.

Hi, Marylyn. Good to see you again. Yeah, the Rosenwald Deck in Europe is in the German Playing Card Museum. I like the smaller Bennedetti aces. Love the more elegant Hismans queens. He rendered them with such a tender, loving touch. In general love the Hismans courts. You know, I look at a lot of artifacts, such as the old tarot decks, as a kind of "natural resource". I think it must be fascinating to reimagine some of these old decks. It's kind of like different artists painting, drawing, or photographing the same landscape. Artists do it all the time. They did it in the distant past, too. Anyway, I'm rambling. If I had to choose one deck, it would be the Hismans. But those Bennedetti aces......beautiful! Thanks, Marylyn!

      Hi Frances, excellent points!
I'm more likely to use the center deck by Benedetti for readings, but I'm fiercely glad I have the Hismans. That Hismans is a treasure!
Thank you for being here and commenting. ~ Marilyn

Hello Marilyn. If you edited your video, you may have noticed a lovely arc of energy from your person to the conch shell on your left shoulder and extending to the buttlerfly origiami on your wall.
I must admit that I previously thought the Rosenwald Decks were rather crude examples of historical tarot card representations. However, in viewing the comparison this time round, I appreciate the simplicity of the line work in the Trumps. I agree with Frances on the beauty of the aces - they really do shine, particularly in Benedetti's tinted version where the detail in the pip cards is enhanced as to be so stylish. I too admire Hismans' extras in the courts. How lucky to enjoy viewing each wonderful edition. Thank you 🧡🧡

Hi Xanthe Leaf 😊 I don't know how to edit my videos so the way they're shot is genuine. I'll have to rewatch it to see the arc you're referencing. The Rosenwald is a very special deck, and I'm thrilled to have it. I might be more included to use the petite one in color by Benedetti, but that has as much to do with client expectations and it's photographic quality to be seen during a video recording. But I'm thrilled to have the Hismans for sure. I love them all and I love studying the cards and seeing choices made etc. Thank you as always for being here. xoxo ~ Marilyn
