I was so bored of NO as they toured like a retrospective juke box - but when this diamond of an album was released it blew my mind especially when I heard the songs live. They opened with this monster at The Shrine in LA and the band I loved for so long was truly back!
When Billy Corgan says these bands were like the Beatles to many of us, he's right on.

New fan of New Order; I know many regard other albums as better than this one, but maybe because it's the first one I listened to, I think it is my favorite(I do need to explore the other ones more). I'm going through some hard times and I am obsessed with several of the songs on this album. I purchased Complete Music on bandcamp without realizing it was extended version of an existing album, but after purchasing both I have to say I prefer the extended mixes over the original album.
I can just throw this album on and jam out, regardless of stress and work and all that, and that's just what I need right now.

I saw this guys here on Brasil maybe in 88, 89, didn' t saw again, in that time I have 14 or 15 years old, now I got 42, like this guys since they are warsaw, after joy division and finaly new order, thx for u all. I am 60 yrs old. I look like 30 yr old. I never change. I will always have my headphones on. Especially listening to all of New Order, the Cure, Clan of Xymox, Simple Minds, U2 etc...Mostlly the rock, indie, new wave and alternative music. I don't feel dated.

This is not New Order, it is new music produced by some of the ex-members of New Order, New Oreder are not New Order without Peter Hook.
Michael Brennan hooky is missed, but there are some very good tracks on this album

As long as Bernard Sumner is there it will always be New Order, Peter Hook was a fool to renunce because of a silly fight and announcing the end of the band. Is he the owner? I don't think so, he is one the greatest bassist but now he must be shitting on his pants after hearing this magnificent album.
Better than every track from Get Ready and WFTSC (and Lost Sirens) pretty much. So I ain't exactly missing Peter Hook these days. Not as integral as he thought he was to the band moving forward.

Back in the very beginning the members of Joy Division agreed that if for any reason a member left, the remaining members would start again as a new band.
Which is why in 1980 after Ian Curtis death they didn't simply get a new singer and carry on as Joy Division. They started New Order and played only new stuff for a long time, and would not play any Joy Division songs.
For a couple of years after Peter Hook left they did start again as Bad Leiutenant, obviously they didn't work for them so well. So they went back to calling themselves New Order without Peter Hook.
New Order are not New Order without Bernard, Hooky Steve or Gillian.
What we have now are two New Order tribute bands Peter Hook & the Light and another group of ex members calling themselves New Order, neither are New Order just that one doesn't pretend to be.
