I didn't understand the red card at all. The Brumbies Player is properly tackled and pushed to the side by two Force player, so that it hit with the head of the Force player. It was an absolutely random act. It was a dangerous move, yes, but the defender really wasn't to blame, he just stood there and got the red card for it. Incomprehensible to me!
I agree. It’s one of the issues with rugby. You can ruin a game with a red card for an accident. They need the on report system like league.

@@derblindesanchez7250 La regla así como está siendo aplicada es una burrada. Además el efecto en los partidos de una tarjeta roja temprana es evidente. Son dos cosas muy claras para cambiar en el reglamento del rugby actual. Yo creo que con cambiar la segunda, por ejemplo haciendo que la roja sea como una amarilla pero que ese jugador no vuelva y que además se gane suspensión automática, el efecto negativo de la primera se reduce mucho. salu2

@@gnakaora6439 there was already 2 players there making perfectly legal tackles. Why on earth Pulu comes in with a high shoulder I'll never know. It's just stupid, they all know the rules and they know that the rules are there to prevent players getting brain diseases in later life. Rugby is not "going soft". Rugby is finally taking the health of the players seriously
That red card was ridiculous. There was no malice in it whatsoever. The defender wasn’t even trying to touch the attacker. The attackers head fell into the defenders shoulder as he was being tackled by two other defenders. That was an unavoidable contact made. There was no danger in it at all. What a stupid call. Stupid ref. That should not have even been a penalty, let alone a red card.
I wish that we had seen a proper Super Series this year. To me, the NZ teams just look like they're on a whole different level. It would be nice to see if that is a correct assumption.
The way to get out of the accidental shoulder to the head problems of union is to bring back rucking. Back when it was clearing out the ball using feet you'd get a few stitches on the legs some back rakes but never shoulder blocks to the head while being bent over using your hands trying to get the ball like today.

If the players don't yet know that you cannot lead with the shoulder and your arm tucked into or behind your body, then they deserve what they get. There was very little difference between this tackle and the one that got SBW red carded against the BI Lions 4 years ago.

I hate how everyones bagging the brumbies saying they are crap because they didn't wallop the force. They were the ladder leaders of super rugby in 2020 after 7 rounds before covid hit. like What?? they have always been a very respected team and u should continue to respect them. From a Reds supporter.
Guarantee if the crusaders were at top of ladder they woulda said they are super rugby championships after 7 rounds but when the brumbies are they don't. pff

Mate I'm a Aussie and when I heard that I was like they need to lay off the booze. We are nowhere near that standard of rugby and dont see getting there untill we open up the game and start getting more young people involved across the country.. look at rugby league in Australia and the quality of players and alot of great player have been indigenous people J.T and G.I are just two but where are the indigenous players in the Aussie rugby union teams?? The last one was Beale.

@@karlosdeevs yeah mate they are the two best this year. Just would like to see more indigenous people playing rugby union. NRL and ALF have shown the way with so many brilliant indigenous players. Look how strong they have made the NRL, state of origin and the all Star games. It's time rugby Australia woke up or union in Australia will die off. Just imagine having someone like Greg Inglis in your center or Johnathan Thurston as your play maker. Just don't see it happening and I love the sport a huge Reds fan.

@@wesleyreid4420 when I moved to Aus (BNE) from NZed (AKL) I was shocked at how unpopular union was, I almost jumped to league cause the comp seemed so much better and payed well! And yes, never met an indigenous brother on the union field, ever!

Geez, talk about arrogance of NZ super rugby. Both competitions are decent quality, except the Tahs of course. Majority of the matches in both comps have been fairly close. The difference being NZ refs favouring the Crusaders with very dodgy rub of the green calls.

That red card was just about the stupidest call I've ever seen
If your going to make a tackle, you need to lead with you hands, not your shoulder. Specifically, don't lead with a shoulder to the head.
The player went shoulder first with no attempt to wrap the arms. In the event of any contact to the head, leading with the shoulder takes away any chance of "mitigation" and a red card will always be produced.

is it any wonder rugby is struggling in Oz? Teams are encouraged to kick for 3 points rather than attack for tries...
