    This is so true! I have so many horror stories of horses getting hurt or worse because their halter got caught somewhere.

    I never leave halters on. I have ways to bait our old Anglo Arab, usually works.
    I have learned though that leather halters will break, and nylon halters do not. So it's leather for travel.
