- In this video, I look at mods that improve the vanilla game. No expansive mods or add on's, just stuff that makes the main game better. Thanks for watching, and also thanks for all the support lately.
There might be a channel update coming soon

It would be nice that the Climbing Glove is on the other hand and Pitcher's mitt on the other. Also the jumping boot and spike shoe on different feet. :D
Ik like why not
That would look ugly
This mod really makes Spelunky looked more like Terraria
@@Anthaneus who wears two pitchers mits
@@onemansvoice9132 who wears one climbing glove?
The visible pickups mod is a unique idea, but the execution isn't the best, especially with most of the items simply having their sprites grafted onto the character's head
3:03 myth confirmed neo babylon was city of gold all along
Pitcher’s mitt should only be on one hand, ya know… like a mitt.
These are pretty cool. I wouldn't personally use the visible alive skeletons and visible fuel level in the jetpack ones, as I feel making the game easier in this way actually detracts from the charm. I like knowing that I don't run out of jetpack fuel because I have a feeling for how much there is from experience. I'm sure someone will like those mods, though
I don't know about the whole difficulty = Charm thing, but I agree that visible jetpack fuel and alive skeletons isn't a necessary or good edition. Like always knowing which skeleton is alive renders it redundant for them to play dead in the first place and removes the only amount of threat that they pose. And it's not hard to keep track of jetpack fuel, so I don't think adding an awkwardly placed bar is a good edition
The reason I think the difficulty adds charm is because the amount of fun you get from playing a game is dependent on difficulty. If a game is too easy you'll be bored, whereas if it's too hard you'll feel overwhelmed. Spelunky is a game that doesn't hold your hand, which gives you a sense of achievement and pride when you slowly master it, so as you say the skeleton thing is pretty redundant. I think possibly some young children might enjoy it as an addition to the game to make it more accessible. Nevertheless, it's interesting to see people alter the game
@@Oddsfeline I personally feel like a lot of the difficulty in spelunky is artificial just because the consequences for mistakes are so great that it makes each individual mistake more weighted, which makes the game feel difficult. But I don't really feel like a game is hard when I'm stuck in a hitstun loop or sniped by something from off screen. It might just be me, but I find a lot of other games more technically difficult. Although the type of difficulty I like is more about technical execution than risk and reward.
@@michaeleanthonyjr I kinda like that weight. I also feel like if I died, most if not all of the time it was my fault and I need to be more careful and more aware of my surroundings. I suppose it's very subjective. If I didn't feel like I could learn, maybe I would be more bothered by the difficulty, but I can learn gradually and personally just view it as motivation to git gud
@@Oddsfeline Dying is always your fault in a video game no matter what. Because by technicality, there's always something you could have done to avoid a death, even if you have no way of knowing what that something is. I personally think Spelunky gaslights you into thinking that it's an outlier in that regard, like there are bound to be moments where your skill is irrelevant because some aspect of the game will be working against you. But it would still have been your fault when you die. Like I think Spelunky is a fun game, but I don't think it's as well designed as other people think it is. It's definitely subjective though, if I never died or failed, I definitely wouldn't be as irritated with the game.
I love the idea for these mods! Some of them were executed really well like the anubis II jetpack and the door brightness increase, but alot of them could definitely be improved upon.
Funnily enough tho, i really want visible jetpack fuel to be an actual feature added, mainly to have to visible on the jetpack design itself, similar to ROB's fuel in smash ultimate.
I’ll add to Pehmokettu’s comment that it would be cleaner if the jetpack jauge was the blue tank filling down, instead of an additional one…
I think the death sounds in neo Babylon are hallareous
Nice video! My personal favorite is the showable outfits. I think its a neat feature. It probably helps you see what you have without looking up in the corner too. Have a good day!
Thanks. You too
I like the scarab one the most. It seems like a normal game mechanic.
Nah, it makes dark levels obsolete really.
@@gogogo8448 I have gone through dark levels without being able to reasonably collect a single scarab.
If it was toned down , required an item akin to the spectacles or scarab were made more rare , it could be fun.
Or we can be spelunking purists and decline any possible changes from what's cannon. Up to us really .
I like the visible items, seemed a bit lazy not for some implication of this to be included the scarab one effects the gameplay too much for me.
The gloves look nice they should 100% add those👌
I think it would be awesome if duat contained all of the enemies you defeated that run only, +Osiris and the snake. So if you went jungle and killed tikimen you'd see tikimen in duat.
Like.. every single kill being added? Duat already is so much considerably harder
@@LixxLixx idk you could make every duat enemy be replaced by a random enemy from the pool of enemies you killed when they are spawned. Would be an interesting mod at least
I'm confused why the made the skeletons have exclimation marks above their head when the player can just look at the skeletons teeth size.
3:29 Neo-City Of Gold
3:13 Neo Babylon of Gold
3:30 rip eye users
Looked amazing
well, you can actually see if the skeleton is alive grom the form of his eyes but still, a pretty copl feature!
The golden bug effect dude he made neon Babylon into Gold City
how do you use overlunky because when i open it, it just closed immediately
You probably have to disable your anti virus software while opening it because most think it’s a virus
I think Anubis 2 Jetpack should last longer
What would be nice is if the skeletons were visible only when you have spectacles, but thats hard to code ig
3:15 the city of gold but neo babylon
Visible pickups is one that should be actually in the game imo. At least some, not sure about the xray specs!
They shouldn't be added ingame
Only should add crowns if they do
The golden scarab making it all brighter kinda ruins the point of a dark level tho
The skeleton one is not good, theres already a difference between mob and prop, you need need to stop and see it for a sec.I like all the other ones, pretty good.
Interesting. What’s the difference between the two?
@@KYGaming100 Skeletons have bigger eyes, check the wiki. After a while i find it easy to tell the difference instantly
Yeah after a while you won’t even have to stop to tell when it’s a living skeleton. The vanilla indicator works perfectly already.
why does someone not realising a little feature make it “not good”
@@spencerthegarfieldfanboy The biggest point of there being fake and real skeletons is to fake you out, while yes, the vanilla version of the game does have a tell, its not the most obvious one, and can be hard to notice when moving at fast speeds unless your eyes are real good.
Adding markers to basically tell you that a skeleton is alive gets rid of that entire structure, it defeats the purpose of having skeletons stay still in the first place and gets rid of part of what makes them a unique enemy in the first place
My girlfriend can tell which skeletons alive and ive been playing this game much longer and still cant tell
What else does the anubius II jetpack do?
You can set it to not explode, but otherwise it’s just a detail
The alive skeletons already have visibly angrier faces which makes the mod useless
Not exactly visibly angry, unless your face is pressed against your screen
@@ThatPancakeCat i can see them perfectly okay. It needed practice, but always check any skeleton by looking at its eyes. If the eyes are darker, bigger, more hollowed out, then that is an alive one
what does the anubis jetpack do??? or is it just cool looking?
Optionally buffs the jetpack, giving it explosion immunity.
It is only cool looking but there is an added option to make it resistent to fire
this is soooooooooo cool
The Jetpack 😧
My autoclicker is sure to make those scarabs really fun to use :)
Cool👍
I miss ur vids ☹🙁

Can you download spelunky mods on xbox
Only pc unfortunately
Sad
How wer you spawning stuf
@@Ze-Fan overlunky mod on pc
@@KYGaming100 do you have to buy Spelunky on steam to mod it
The visible Alice sckeletons mod in cheating in my book, the eyes of the “alive” Skelton are larger and more round. Taking caution around skeleton heads is part of the game. The scrab lightness is similar, dark lvls stay dark. Cope.
I mean, they will only be lighter when you collect scarabs, and it seems to make sense seeing that they can make light
