I was fortunate enough to see this band in San Diego, around 2001. It was in a tiny blues club that no longer exists (Blind Melons). They were insanely good, and Rosie had everyone dancing!
Its an honor to see ladies keeping the legacy of Zodico music alive.. Dont forget that lil lady called Donna Angelle from La Pointe. LOUISIANA..May thats just 5 miles from Parks...
That show was worth the trip and the heat (115 heat index) - literally sweltering, I’d never been that hot that I could remember. Rosie Ledet is one of my all time favorites, bar none across genres! She said she was a bit under the weather, and she had what may have been a fainting spell at the end of the set, but the Lady and her Band left everything on the stage before that. The audio here does not do this show Justice but I’m so grateful to @WWOZ for posting it. I can still feel the excitement of the crowd looking at the visuals! Fair disclosure: I see myself down from in a yellow t-shirt a few times, especially around the 30:08 mark!! The station logo covers me in a lot of the shot 😊but I can see me. I was having one of the times of my life!! Ékouté…!! Hé Toi…!!
