physician here - there's three rules of surgery: 1) eat when you can 2) sleep when you can 3) don't fuck with the pancreas. Necrotizing pancreatitis is literally one of the worst diseases to treat; I've watched/participated in necrosectomy for a patient; it ended up destroying both of the the patient's kidneys, >60% of their large intestine, and large amounts of small bowel. He ended up dying after undergoing countless surgeries/necrosectomies.
@@matts882 Common suspects - alcohol, gallstones, hypertriglyceridemia; all which i would suspect in Kadyrovs case. The severity would be unusual, but it's not uncommon
I can tell you as a RN with more than 18 years' experience necrotizing pancreatitis patients are some of the most difficult to treat. You're talking about patient-controlled analgesia pumps. insulin drips and most likely ostomy bags to manage and often some sort of cardiac drip to take care of. You're in their rooms constantly waking them up to take their vitals or check on their drips so they get very little sleep, not that they can sleep through the pain at any rate, and your constantly worried that they can decline and go into full blown cardiac or respiratory arrest at literally any second.
This seems so odd for someone with no medical background. To me, the pancreas is just that little thing that produces this one thing: Insulin. Is there a specific reason why the pancreas is so finicky and super important?
@@Kitsudote From what I recall in Biology classes, it also produces digestive enzymes for digestion and is sandwich at a very tricky place thus probably very difficult to reach in a surgery
