Your layout is wonderful! I model Pan Am Railways operations out of Plainville, Connecticut. I have the same Atlas gondola (AMGX 2700) for a scrap metal customer in Waterbury which actually uses AMGX gondolas to ship baled scrap. Your layout is really cool and raises the bar for the rest of us who strive for realistic looking layouts and prototypical operations. I have a couple of questions about your layout but this is only the first video of yours I have seen, so I'll watch the others. Thanks for sharing your layout with us-subscriber 240.

Great video! I'm STILL learning what diesel locomotives are what, so could you please tell me what type of locomotive this is (at first I thought a NW2)? Loved it Sir!
Mark 'BhigDaddyMark' Ferguson Hello Mark thanks for the nice comment. The loco is an MP15DC, its a 1500hp switching locomotive manufactered by EMD. This model is made by Atlas. Keith

Well, I don´t know if you noticed or not guys, but this switching could be fun to watch but its performing *is totally wrong* !!!. None real engineer would perform such a bad manouvre !. At the begining of the drill, he takes the long way to do this switching instead of taking the short and straight one !, and that in real railroading is a *big, big mistake* !!, We'll see in part 2, if the switching gets better. Actually its not up to the engineer.. The conductor makes the decisions.Would a conductor do that? Absolutely if there isn't much head room to work with.As a PRR conductor told me when I was a student brakeman.. Plan your work and work your plan and never get your cabin in front of your face.What a conductor would have done is dropped the gon off before preceding into the industrial area.
