What the hell is he doing. Iv got the powertec version of this in my home gym and I wouldn't recommend most of those excersises he's just invented. Doesn't even do one of the things it's invented for.calf raises. It's brilliant for squats and enables you to go deeper than with a bar. Can also do the lunge excersise he does actually do. Your not supposed to do forward squats as the angle of the plate isn't designed to turn round. I do actually use it for overhead press as it's really good for that as well. Most of the others he's doing look downright dangerous to me. It's not a multi gym.
😂 I agree fully. I tried lunges, they work ok as they hit my quads more but honestly I could hit the quads by just using the normal platform (not the slanted one) - safer and easier then lunges. Facing the opposite way works ok but not worth the hassle since you can't use the starting pin and have to start from the bottom (not fun getting in and out). And like you mentioned - he didn't show the calf press 😂😂😂
Not really that much of a difference, it was so that I could box squat, if I was facing forward the positioning just wouldn’t allow me to sit on a box so I reversed the stance
I’ve had a long history of back spasms and this is the only squat I do to strengthen my legs, glutes and lower back. The angle of the foot rest at 45 degrees and the arc of the machine takes a tremendous amount of pressure off of the lower back. I would give it a try with 25 lbs on each side first just to see what you can handle. I was pleasantly surprised with the results. I must tell you that in my experience that using the leg extension machine is far worse for my lower back than this squat machine. I’ve never had any back issues using this machine, and I’m always careful with my exercises as to not trigger a lower back spasm. Good Luck!!
I broke my back today, spinal. After 1 week it will be healed tho. Had it once before. Now my question to you. Is this first squat variation better for back? Because I like training legs 3 times per week. But I do not like to go heavy on barbell squats because the risk of bad form. Can I go heavy on this one without the risk of a broken back? This machine is always empty at my gym. Even the fitgirls are camping to long in the squatracks taking selfies.
I wouldn't train legs three times a week. For example hamstrings twice a week, and quads once a week. You can do calves and hamstrings on Monday and quads and hamstrings on Friday. You should see some good results in with that routine. But make sure you're doing different exercises for those muscles on those days.
I would stay away from this modified movements and stick with bodyweight box squats, work on progressing to a low box and then bodyweight full range of motion squats and then start adding more resistance. Reverse hyperextensions would be a good move as well.
Ive had this machine for 7yrs and now i feel like i can use to its full potential. Thanks for this vid, life changing!
You can also do calf raises on that. So there's 15th exercises 😉
16th exercise hise shrugs
This video is a hidden gem !

dont do 1/3 of these bullshit exercises and you'll be fine
