one thing I noticed is you don't shift walk in deathmatches nobody does so always know someone is gonna peek and also your movement is always snappy cuz you aren't shift walking. But when in ranked its completely different as you have no idea where someone might be peeking from Also when to hold shift and when to release it is also important as a new player I struggle with that cuz a lot of times I'll just peek angles while holding shift which just makes me an easy target. No matter how many deathmatches you play you just have learn the actual in game mechanics in ranked like playing off teammates utility, minimap awareness. minimap refrags and trading and everything.
Imo the biggest reason is bc deathmatch queues all ranks together so like if you’re diamond you can face irons so like ofc you’re gonna do better and once you hop in a real match everyone is around your skill level
Gold and most of the time there are ascendants 2 diamonds and maybe one immo 2 and usually match mvp
Not real, ive tried 10 dms just to prove to myself that dm mmr exists, ive played 5 dms iron rank and 5 dms immo rank, difference was insane

Nah bro I play better than ascendants in DM sometimes, even they ask me how are you silver with that aim. I think one needs to climb elos by learning the specific mechanics for his/her elo, rather than bringing immortal mechanics into bronze.

yeah confidence is key, when im like trying my ass off because the thought of dying and letting the team down worries me. however when i just completely forget about everything other than "click on heads" i do really well. one time i did a 1v5 without even realising my teammates are dead

Lurk when you realise that you aren't really needed for the site execute. While the enemies are distracted fighting your team, you catch your enemies off guard when they're rotating

Its because it's easier to kill people when you arent stressed, can hear people coming at you, and also some people play scared and hold angles which boosts their stats making them feel like they are doing better but not actually practicing their aim as much

No, just in dm, its so focused 24/7, ur u aware of how many things ur focused on in a second that u dont apply 100% same focus in rank each PEEK. Not each fight

Agreed! I can perform better or equal or just below to Immo 1 players in a deathmatch. My highest is diamond and currently I am a plat, in plat lobby dm i can dominate players but when it comes to compe, i can perform only in one half due to so many factors.

I watched ur videos straight 2 hrs then went for unrated. I played too good i am proud of myself. I played against Ascendant, Gold and Silver (i am S3 btw), i was used to get scared when i play with higher rankers but after watching ur videos i was like I don’t give a f , u r radiant or not i will ruin you all . I tried to be positive then i got my result for being confident and playing aggressively ( i am omen main), i did 38 kills and only died 8 times HS%= 22% . But yesterday I watched this and today I tried a bit of swift play and got damn 4 of my matches all got over whoping 20kills, even 29

I feel this, I’m bronze 2 and I get queued with silver and gold and I always lose when that happens. I do good in death match, can strafe and all that junk, but then when it comes to unrated and comp everything I know goes out the window and I don’t understand that. My aim isn’t the best. But like I said I do good in dm but not in unrated and comp, I just don’t understand. And I feel my heart rate go up when I play comp and unrated for some reason I try to calm down but still do crap… does anyone have tips that could help me? Should I play more swift play? Like play dm first and then go to swift play and the comp?

I recently hit diamond and just cant shake off the anxiety of deranking to plat 3

just read the definition of the pressure in the description of a ranked match. Just like unrated but "higher stakes" or something to that effect.
I experience similar things but I don't think it happens because of my rank. The same thing happens with me in other games modes as well. I'm sometime good in Deathmatch, rarely in TDM and almost never in Unrated. I basically don't even play ranked because my aim is bad and I think I'm in a too high rank and I would bring down my team. And I don't feel confidence in the rest of the game modes either. In TDM if I'm in the negative I directly responsible for my team losing. In Deathmatch if I die, well at least my team doesn't suffer but I still helping someone else to win (still, I probably often the player with the less amount of death). So while I think Deathmatch helps a little to learn aiming (I force myself to play Guardian and Sheriff), If I would guess I would say I'm still terrible in Deathmatch but at least I know enough about the spawns and I know where can enemies appear and that help a lot.
Also about crouch spaying. Until I started watch Valorant videos I never knew it was some kind of big problem in the game. I basically never did to begin with (I never felt the need) but I see others do it, and when they do it, I die.

My warm up routine exceeds my playtime 😂 I do 10 death matches. And if I meet some high elo like Dia(I am iron so it's high elo for me) I challenge them in 1v1 and guess what I win that or lose to a close call. But my ranked games are like making me feel am still avg iron. 😂

this is actually real, im still iron 2, due to my 12 losestreak accident im so traumatic to play ranked match, that i only play swiftplay most of the day but now, i just warm up more and careless more about my rank and yes im improving more
there's no sense to care about iron 2 rank, tbh, there's like nothing to lose tbh.

@@Ducks.. queueing with people who are much higher rank than you are not very good, to be honest, because you will be punished no matter what you do, you did good? get punished, you did bad? get punished and that's why it is hard to get better.
i am diamond myself, but immo players would shit on me, so i wouldn't queue with them, but ascendant is fine and stils is in my skill level.

I usually burst tap on deathmatch and somehow spray on ranked cuz it became a game habit to me like burst on deathmatch and spray on ranked how to fix this
With good mental confidence and a calm mood that does not save you from troll teammates at all matches are not fill with good teammates who want to play the game alot of the time you get fooking trolls who kill or blind you good mental dont save you from other people

What about the feeling of letting down your teammates, whenever I perform bad I sort of spiral and can't get over the fact that I am letting the rest of the team down. Yeah I know that my rank doesn't matter but I feel awful when I have bad games or don't perform. I guess having more of an "ego"? Wondering what your thoughts might be on this
Another tip im trying to achieve as well is to stop playing for stats. Only focus on the current round and not on the fact that your going 3 - 8 or something.

Hey i have a question, I can't distinguish on when to spray or burst it's like i mix them up and i know that I've won if i sprayed or if i bursted. Do you know how i can fix this??
You never want to spray. Ideally every kill should be a clean 1 tap, but since that's impossible, bursting while strafing is always better. If you are close - medium range and tag someone, you can commit to a spray to finish that kill if you need to, but it really depends on the situation. I'd say the closer you are to someone, the more confidently you can rely on a spray to secure the kill. Spray kills are messy and you usually take a lot of chip damage so it's not reliable, especially as you go into the higher ranks where headshots are usually the decider. I hope this helps!

In rank i feel (like myself) people dont peek with intent.
Every time u check a spot for someone u should act like someone’s holding on u. This way when u peek/move ur ready to insta fire.
I get rank 1 every time on deathmatch, but when it comes to competitive play, I go bottom frag. Something I feel like is because players don't focus on deathmatch.

See my issue is like today I warmed up in deathmatch playing against ppl like kaemi and then go to my hardstuck silver 2 life get 20+ kills every game match mvp more then not and still can’t get out

Great question. It's different from person to person, but I usually know when I'm warmed up when I'm getting 1st in my deathmatches and have full control of my aim. If I don't warm up enough, my aim feels really shaky and uncontrolled, which can lead to whiffing my shots in-game.

Maybe it's just me, but I have the opposite problem. I get creamed in Deathmatch but destroy in Unranked and when I do play ranked. For the life of me, I can't say confidently why. I have theories, but legit can't give a definitive reasoning.

Crouching in itself is not bad at all, and can actually be very useful. It's how you use it that matters.
A lot of players will instantly crouch out of habit or panic spray the second they get into a duel, which is very bad. This is because you cannot strafe at all, making you a still and easy target to tap while being fully commited to the fight.
However, using crouching to either correct your spray or to throw off crosshair placement with an operator for example can be VERY strong. Also crouch jumping to make skill jumps aswell. I made a movement guide where I went over crouching since it's really misunderstood. I hope this helps!

I struggle with this so so so so so much, in Deathmatch I typically place within top 6, I have crazy good HS percentage and win a lot of fights, I feel good about myself. I go into Swiftplay, Unrated, Ranked, TDM, it doesn't matter, and I feel like my movement, aim and everything else just goes out the window. I know my util, I know my movement, I have good aim, I know all agents util, I know my maps, but like a good 80% of that goes out the window and I bottom frag as a duelist and lose easy fights that I should have won, which makes me feel useless. I still have not really figured out how to get rid of this mentality, as stated in the video I think I care to much about my rank. I see my friends all in Gold 2 and over and there's me just getting out of Bronze Elo hell after a year and a half, struggling to even get past Silver 2. My brain immediately blames the game for it's bad matchmaking, blaming my hidden MMR, blaming everyone but myself until when I finally do blame myself I just say things like "I suck", or "I'm trash". And while I do get alot of smurfs and bad matchmaking in Silver (facing Gold 3's who are way better, Bronze 1's who go 30/5 etc), a lot of it just me not being able to transfer my mechanics into an actual match.
I'm going to try starting to warm up a tad longer, do a few more DM's, try no to worry about my rank as much and see it if helps. Thank you for making this video, it is by far the most detailed explanation of why aim is inconsistent I've watched.
