â@nss309 cause its a scam. The therapists aren't even qualified or licensed, they're literally regular people doing a side gig.
This guys ability to keep you interested with his voice is incredible. The energy he uses makes it feel like youâre there to see the battle.
still trying to understand if its AI or not...
I love the voice but Iâm 70/30 sure itâs AI
Itâs clearly an English accent and heâs pounced literally only 1 or 2 words weird and I canât forget about it đ
Absolutely, his narration is excellent and make these videos more enjoyable
Glazing ass comment
@@kriswheeler5686 Literally just look at the description... says it's narrarated by David McCallion.
HistoryMarche is one of the best YT History channels.
Easily the best. Kings and generals declined 1 year ago and became silly and political.
also with Epic History TV
Kings and Generals
I deleted Kings and Generals after they started spewing political opinions. This channel is the absolute best.
@@deusrex2970 Kings and Generals is absolute garbage, they are far too political and biased to produce anything of value.
@@FrostyBob99 Me too. They even made an episode of Lord of the rings - Numenor arriving to the lands of Gondor political. Haha. That was the peak clown take from them and the final straw for me.
More wars of the roses?! You're the Best! đ„đ„đ„đ„đ„
A good film.
I couldn't agree more. Not only that, I'd just put a loaf of bread in the oven for 40 minutes when this popped up in my notifications, so perfect timing too!
On the first day of the Battle of the Somme, Britain lost 20K soldiers killed. Machine guns, poison gas, flamethrowers, planes and massive artillery.
This battle, 500 years prior, lost 28K killed. With just bows, spears and swords. A bloody massacre, that has still never been topped as our bloodiest day.
During ww2,
In the battle of Rhezev , soviets lost 600,000 men and women in the first four and an half days.
Soviets consider it a great success since it was able to divert nazi reinforcements heading towards Stalingrad , ultimately resulting the victory of the soviets 5 months later.
Also *1% of the English population* was wiped out in a SINGLE day.
@@tonyantonio8956*Rzhev salient isn't that battle to push back the nazis from moscow? It is a win of course, it explains why that nazis did diverted their reinforcements from stalingrad, the volga army was not even compensating it's own casualties, maybe losing this much ground is why the center receives so much man in that period*
@@tonyantonio8956communism is a sickness
@@tonyantonio8956 They're not English mate.
The quality of visuals and audio narration made me feel like I wasn't watching a CZcams video, but almost apart of the actual events during that period. Unbelievable quality, your productions get better with each passing release.
The narrator is a professional.
He's the same voice you hear on the History Channel or BBC documentary.
I agree with you I also like the obscurity of some of their subject matter.
Some of the skeletons at Towton showed up to at least 20 injuries done, it must have been a BRUTAL battle.
The magnates present at the battle on the Lancastrian side were: Duke of Somerset, Duke of Exeter, Son of the Duke of Buckingham, Earl of Northumberland, Earl of Devon, Earl of Wiltshire & Ormond, Viscount Beaumont, Baron Moleyns & Hungerford, Baron Dacre, Baron Clifford, Baron Neville, Baron Rivers, Baron Welles, Baron Willoughby, Baron Ros, Baron Richemont, Baron Maulay, Baron Codnor, Baron Fitzhugh and Bishop of Carlyle. 7 rich Knights. Scottish mercenaries and Militia from York.
The magnates on the Yorkist side were: Duke of York (Edward IV), Duke of Norfolk, Duke of Suffolk, Earl of Warwick & Salisbury, Son of the Earl of Arundel, Viscount Bourchier, Baron Fauconberg, The men of Baron Fitz Walter (killed at Ferrybridge), Baron Stanley, Baron Grey, Baron Clinton, Baron Dudley, Baron Scrope of Bolton. 8 rich Knights and Esquires. Kentish men raised by commission of array.
That's 1 King, 4 Dukes, the son of 1 Duke, 4 Earls, the son of 1 Earl, 2 Viscounts, 18 Barons and the men of 1 Baron. Edward IV was the Duke of York, the Earl of March, the Earl of Cambridge, and the Earl of Ulster, making him the most powerful man on the battlefield.
i like the more narrative aspects of the video. great job mate
Much appreciated!
@@HistoryMarche The tenses were all over the place though (a consistent problem lately), constantly switching between present and past. Also, too much waffle at the beginning of your videos lately (we're talking minutes of it), to presumably draw out the video length and get more ad money?
The moment i saw those red cavalry units in the forest after you mentioned Edward's father and brother died on an ambush supposedly devised byba former ally i thought "man, Edward's not gonna like this"
*"by a" damn cellphone keyboard
â@Soul93Taker To be fair, my Samsung Tablet is just as untrustworthy. Occasionally, it's belief in its own omnipotence astounds me. đ
you always make me feel like I'm there, in the battle, on the march, your way of telling stories is so immersive and addicting. Thank you, you always make my weekend better.
I live in Wakefield and the two biggest battlefields in the uk are on my doorstep basically, Towton and the English civil War battlefield of Marston Moor. A wealth of history all around. Excellent programme and topic with amazing narration, top notch
You're the Best historymarche! Your documentaries and narration are second to none! Please consider doing the battle of Barnet (death of the Kingmaker) and of Tewekesbury (Death of Edward, son of henry Vi and margaret lf anjou)
Absolutely fascinated with this battle. A massive part of English History. It has lots of twists and turns and is epic in scale. Never understood why it's never been made into a warfilm. Great choice, great graphics đ đ đ
Unfortunately they don't know who should be black. Edward, or Margaret. I would personally make Margaret, and she would lose because of patriarchy and racism. Also she would lead from the front, and Edward as white male would be hiding in the back
@@bohdand3318 oh I get you đ. The modern slant on a historical event. Very good, took me a while to get this đđđđ
@@bohdand3318 bro are you kidding? the entire army would be black and Edward would be the evil white slaver forcing his men to fight
Cersei Lannister is inspired by Margaret of Anjou to a degree... George RR Martin takes a lot of the York vs. Lancaster history in A Song of Ice and Fire
I did not expect that, the story telling was exceptional good in this video, similar to the ones about Rome!
The difference between Edward IV, his generals and his enemies is really interesting. The fact that he risk is life even if it looked like he would lose, and that his generals never backstabbed him is also what makes a good army.
This channel has given me hours of absolute bliss, my mind is so focused on the awesome battle tactics animations & your great descriptions i dont have a worry in the world until its over lol
Excellent as always. Bloody Meadow was at the end of the battle rather than the main plain it was fought on but you're right that Towton is famous for it, as is Tewkesbury. You might want to edit the graphics a little - you have Towton as Townton and half of Norfolk has disappeared into The Wash when Edward is marching north. But that aside, superbly put together once again.
That's because prior to the 17th century drainage schemes there was a lot more land under water. The sea came a lot further inland. There was salt Marsh, freshwater Marsh and Islands in-between. The map used represents this very well. It thus shows the terrain that armies had to deal with at the time.
If, for example, you used a modern map and then showed Norfolk's Company marching to say Bury St Edmunds before turning northward, you would wonder why they hadn't just gone via Boston, a much shorter route.
I've been watching some of your older work and the change in quality is a significant, joyful sight. Your videos are truly unique experiences, overflowing with professionalism
Thank for a great film. As a Scot I'm always pleased to hear us mentioned as part of the politics of England in the later medieval period. In many instances we seem not to have the most honourable intentions. Heedrum hodrum, as the saying goes.
Years ago I had the honour of attending a private reception at the Royal Armouries museum in Leeds. The curators brought up the beautiful gold and jewel encrusted ceremonial mace of Edward IV. Then I had the honour of actually handling the plain iron battle mace reputedly swung by the King at Towton. The weapon was perfectly balanced and sat easily in my hand. You could do serious damage with it with minimal effort. Iâll never forget that.
That fact %3 of all of England was there, basically %6 of all males. Blew my mind. I love learning new stuff. Thank you
I should have said this earlier - Thank you forcovering this battle!!! I had read and seen a few bits on the excavations around this area and your recounting of the that engagement did not disappoint! - Good Show! Their were some over-the-top portions of the narration - but I gotta say they were thoroughly enjoyed! - Cheers-
I loved this new intro style, where you show the battle, and only afterwards give the context!
Hear me out ... Hannibal: Part 20. After a long 1 year + 2 months, and counting. Huge fan of your channel. đ€đ First class. With the Hannibal series, no one else has done it. Truly unique. Are you guys throwing in the towel with it? đ

Thank you very much for continuing this series:)
I am so excited for the next video on the Hannibal one, too.

Beautifully done. As always
Masterpiece video!!! Thank you.
Townton is so lovely this time of year. Do you think they have any cheese wheels in at the corner market?
Mmm, cheese wheels...
I live very close to this battlefield visit it at night every so often you will hear sword on Steele
You can also top up your longbow arrow collection.......
@@jasondonaldson7412 I find it funny that our country hasn't really changed in 500 years. I was following the march of Norfolk's men in this video with a real (present day) map on google of the same, it has all the same names, same roads even in the exact same places. Not sure if the artist whom does the maps is doing it from historic maps or not. But if so, that is incredible (to me) anyways, we haven't really changed.
Towton was actually 3 battles, Ferrybridge and Dintingdale also rather than just the one seperate battle at Towton. Well worth reading what Tim Sutherland has written about the battle, he's probably the country's foremost expert on the battle
Hear, hear.
Maybe one of the most epic battles in history. The scale and the stakes are so massive it seems more like something out of a fantasy novel than an actual historic occurence. No wonder it inspired ASoIaF.
no cap
it felt like George RR Martin copied this battle and turned it into the battle of bastards
As for the beginning , what follows it , and the last part of the battle I only say , wow ! what a battle !
The script of the narration was very good , and the narration itself also , excellent.
What a marvelous video đđđ. I was absolutely pumped with the narrator and the arc of this story. This was better than a feature film.
As someone wanting to learn more about the war of roses this is helping allot thanks man
Well done as always.
Baron Fauconberg was a strategic genius! Sounds like he carried the entire campaign!
Great as always. Great narrative and narration
I hope Edward found some peace being able to lay his family to rest. I can't imagine the rage he must have felt.
Thank you for more on the War of the Roses
"To truly learn about yourself, you have to know your past" yeah i guess but it sounds a lot like "apparently my anger problems are inherited since im 1,009% irish" đ
Great video, will be happy to see more videos on tWotR prefarebly lesser covered battles lika Whakefield, Hexham, Blore Heath or Mortimers Cross to Tewkesbury, Barnet or Bosworth field. Many Thanks for all great content
My ancestors were Sirâs and Knights of Somerset during this period. Always fascinating stuff.
Great content! â€
Wow, great video ! More Wars of the Roses content please !
best intro to a video you have ever done... so good
Very enjoyable. Thank you.
Excellent video!
Good post, thank you.
That was one of the best history stories told so far on yt
I very much enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
It is easy to forget how many battles were fought by men who just wanted to go home.
Very informative â€
Well done!
This is why i love the channel, the information and battle info, and so much mind-blowing đ€Ż information. 3% of the population that is insane and I have to wonder how much Edward appearance influenced many Medieval fantasy images. â€đâ€
Fantastic video!
Wasn't the death toll at the battle of Watling Street in excess of 100,000 making it far bloodier than Towton?
Sadly we can't be sure with the battle of Watling Street as we don't have exact numbers, estimates put numbers anywhere between 100,000 to anywhere up to 230,000 depending on the source you refer to as to how many where at the battle, we don't have a definite number as to how many where killed due to Roman bias and propaganda of the time
Edit : sorry forgot to add that last part regarding Roman propaganda
Propaganda
No.
Love your videos!!!
How do you make these visuals man, so cool!! keep it up@
Congratulations on 1M subs!
Good stuff!
25:23 "de rigeur" is French for "obligatory" or "in the nature of the thing", in case anyone else didn't quite catch that.
Good work very entertaining
Best channel đđŒ
You can absolutely see where Game of Thrones got so much of its inspiration from, bloody, brutal stuff.
First and foremost thank you for this documentary ! Second thank you again for this one ! Kindly continue working on the Wars of the Roses
Also big fact many people from Yorkshire did not fight for york at the time they were Lancashire fighters
Great way to tell the tale!

Hey guys you should do a series on the Wars of the Roses just like you did one for the hundred years war! (And maybe do an italian wars series someday)
I would totally love to see that.
Would love to watch more on the wars of the roses
đ I am sure that shooting their own arrows back at them must have really ticked off the men of Lancaster to no end. I can just imagine their frustration being struck with volley after volley of arrows. I can imagine their grimaces watching their arrows falling short of their intended targets.
The Battlefield has a lovely walk and remains largely untouched other than farming
Damn, what a great episode.
Warsof the roses is my favourite period of history!
Danke!

Those were the days.
I heard about it snowing once. If only there were enough of us left to actually have a war these days.
You should do a video on the Battle of Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier in 1488.
