Jackie, I want to correct something real quick lol! The term " Loli" doesn't mean the same thing as " Lolita", lolita is the fashion and the term " Loli" is usually used for underaged anime girls but be careful because people who says these are creepy towards children

"Loli/loligoth" used to be interchangeable with "lolita." In the early 2000s, "lolita" was by far the more controversial term, but people wouldn't bat an eye at "loli," I'm guessing because they would think of lollipops. Since then people have really pushed to use "loli" for the gross reason and it's very frustrating ☹️
@@psychotophatcat and with your comment. I don’t see how loligoth and Lolita could be exchangeable because I see Lolita as more cutesy and loligoth as more still cute but with skulls and a little more dark
@@zazikb Like I said, it was just the case back in the late 90s and early 2000s. You can even find clips from anime from around that time using the term for any generally lolita-type outfit.

If the "What's Her Face" dolls came out today instead of the 90's or early 2000's, I feel like Jackie would have enjoyed their weirdness. You could stamp on their faces with different expressions, or use stickers. Some eyes were anime inspired. I definitely enjoyed mine growing up.

These dolls are based on Decora fashion originating from Japan. Decora coming from the word decorate/decoration. You decorate the dolls with the stickers. Also those are strawberry blossoms. I would love to see how taking her head off made a difference on how you got the dress on 🤣 I almost think it would be harder that way
I think the "Which will you be" thing on the box is asking which character is most like you. Along the lines of "Are you Samantha, Carrie, Miranda, or Charlotte?".
I was thinking that maybe it was a personality test on the website listed bellow, where you can find out the doll that matches your personality.

the "vanilla flowers" are actually strawberry flowers! (a lot of people never expect strawberry flowers to just be white but they are lol) vanilla flowers are more of an orchid
Jackie: I think you want to use the term "Lolita", not...Loli. Those are two different things now, and I'm sure you definitely wouldn't like what the latter actually means.
A lot of people used the term "lolitgoth" or "goth-loli" for the fashion back in the early 2000s, before the term was shifted to mean what you're thinking. Back then, "lolita" was the more controversial term! Jackie is probably just enough out of the loop to not know about the change in preferred vernacular 😅

I loved the skull asthetic as a kid and I basically never got dolls that had that gothic vibe, it’s so cool that they have this many styles 😮 the rainbow is also absolutely adorable and the vinyl clothes makes me think of pollypockets
I appreciate that they really put a thought to the other dolls too, and not just to the "main character" Decora. Also a good thing that you'll know what doll you'll get, 19 dollars is a great price for this quality doll, but too much if there would be a risk of ending up with doubles.
For Jackie not liking or playing with dolls she sure does enjoy the soft hair.

The style is very similar to dollightful style of the harijuku and Lolita. I think Jackie should send them to her to customize.

The style is called decora, like the name of the line. Dollightful actually wears the style and has a few videos making decora dolls, so you're correct that she'd like them :)

Only just started the vid but the dolls are blindboxes in the US and in other parts of the world they aren't! And they say there's 19 to collect because they wil be releasing a wave 2 in the future! (dont know if any of this will be in the video yet but just wanted to say it to be sure lol)

@@psychotophatcat yeah It’s probably also blind packaged in canada! I dont know about every country but at least in a lot of places they aren’t mystery boxes. It’s also kinda weird because here in europe we do have like small lego blind boxes but maybe it’s only allowed up to a certain price point

Well, if Jackie is as close to my age as I think she is, her childhood Polly Pockets didn't have removable clothing 😅 The ones I grew up with were about a centimeter tall and came with an approximately palm-sized hinged playset that you could store the tiny Polly inside and carry in your pocket. I remember getting mad about the rebrand where Polly was a dress-up doll, because how could you fit all that in your pocket?! 😂

I understand people liking and having nostalgia for the dress up ones, but I will never get over how the name just stopped making sense once they changed the style of play. Omg, and the last doll, the puffy strawberry stickers are actually meant to be on the hair because the little pieces on the sides look like the ends of barrette clips!! That is SUCH a cute detail!! (Yes, my dear friend Jackie, I AM saving up for a dragon backpack :) I'm just very broke at the moment, so it's taking literally forever, but it's absolutely worth it to me!)
I was wondering if you put her on the stand first then can you put on the backpack? That way the strawberry part is on the other side of the stand stick.
I got the ads for these dolls on your videos and I immediately fell in love with them. They remind me a mix of Polly Pocket and those 2000's dolls where you stamp the doll's face. I love the designs. I love the customization. My favorites are Deco and Luna. It's my two favorite things: rainbows and Goth

These cost about 10 US dollars at Walmart for me. I love the dolls the carry case doll house. Gives me Lisa Frank vibes with 80s90s vibes. Il have two of the full size dolls.

I think these are going to be very popular and I'm going to write to the company and tell them how picky you are and how much you are gushing over these so maybe they'll send you some. Honestly I love how the boxes show which doll you’re going to get. Collectability aside, it’s nice to know you’re guaranteed to get the doll you want. A lot of the time kids either have to save up their allowance, beg, or wait for holidays to get a toy. The downside to mystery boxes is that all of that hard work might be for your least favorite of the collection or a double. So it’s nice that you get the doll that’s on the box with these ones.

As a doll collector, and friends in the doll community, we all actually love them a lot, we trade to get the ones we want. They're so much fun.
Also in America I've only seen the Decora box style, but they have random dolls in them, I believe it has to do with surprise things being illegal internationally.

The goth doll very much reminds me of Draculaura from Monster High.
I had a lot of little Disney Princess dolls with flexible dresses. These dresses and shoes kind of remind me of that.

Also since you got these dolls in the UK, I do believe that they are not allowed to package them as actual mysteries. So they put the character on the box that you will get. However in the United States all the dolls in the many sizes are actually mysteries you will not know which one you're getting
Not true. Mystery toys are allowed in the UK we get LOL Dolls and 5 Suprise plus chains like HMV do Mystery Box type things and of course Kinder Suprise Eggs. To name a few examples.
Aw man! EU/UK Decora girls say who they are on the box?? Lucky!! Here in the USA they're just mystery boxes and you have to just hope you get the one you want. I'd much rather have the "Hi, I'm-" thing. The "Hi, I'm name" bubble on usa ones just say something like "Decorative style stickers"

Love the video, i used to play with barbie and sindy dolls growing up ( they were my sisters as i was more into cars as a kid) and so learnt to put on fiddley clothing and the shoes were difficult.

Watching Jackie try to dress a doll is like watching a dad try frantically to dress his daughter’s Barbie, knowing he’s never even touched one before. It’s so funny. Reminds me of my dad fumbling dressing my Barbie’s when I was little.
I love the gothic aesthetic, and so I love Luna (even though she's more goth-lite and not truly goth).
Googled out of curiosity, they're the "Top Toy of the Summer" but I've never heard of them til now - so wonder if this'll be like when Cabbage Patch Dolls were new and no one wanted them til they were labeled the MUST HAVE FOR CHRISTMAS and then sold out. Also they apparently have 2 styles, these which are 5" and then a 11" with fabric clothing which are the "Fashion" version.
Though disappointed to see the colors are MUCH more vibrant on the website. But whenever Jackie held one near her face they were much more saturated so that might be a camera issue lol
Also! Luna and Sweetie are the most unique dresses - all the others have at least 1 other doll with the same mold. Sweetie's is a baggy hoodie over a skirt vibe.

Blossom is a strawberry theme, the flower is a strawberry blossom and all the cupcakes have strawberries on them

I actually got some of them here where I live and all the boxes had Decora as the doll on the front but I got different dolls. The hair on the doll came out when I combed it so I don't bother with the other dolls. Also some of the clothes, bags, and hairstyles repeat just In different colors so a little disappointing. The stickers don't always stay on either wether on the face or dress especially on my Blossom doll for some reason . They are cute and I do like them but some things could use improvement.
The company is super interactive and open to critique if you feel up to sending them a message either online or on instagram! They clearly care about this line and wanted to do well, so they have been gracious with hearing out people who have concerns.

I loose my socks constantly because I don’t do my own laundry & mum assigns them to other family members. That’s not why I wear 2 different coloured socks, I’m just “quirky” 😂
