I beat that game years ago. All my fish were 99.15. No cheats just pure grit. You were close, but you only got in 2nd place in my book.

This makes me laugh. I just picked up this game again for the first time In years and I got to Murphy lake after awhile. I got so rattled because I had 3 lunkers get stuck in a reed within 30 mins. Had to throw in the towel. My question is: is there any way to get around this glitch or is line snapping the only option?

@@jordanchampagne9212 ive never found a way to get them off of the reeds. Just a glitch i think. We left the game on for 2 hours just to see if it would come off the reeds and never did. If I were playing this game for real I would play on an emulator for the save states.

trying to speedrun this game..i share ya'lls frustration when it comes to the reeds

I would say it could definitely kill a speed run. Would it be better to just avoid fishing around the reeds?

@@RetroCheater81 well there a few valid reasons to fish there..u see being able to catch fish near instantly is quite valueable..and the fish at the reeds in almost all the spots will come straight to the boat as long as u can hook them at the 2-1ft mark you'll almost always score the catch
its also why lake 2 is the most hated..and the most rng heavy part of the run..as theres no spot u can fish at to try and score an instant hook up and catch

@@gamerx4597 I found one. On Clear Lake, straight across from the docks (on the far right of the lake) you'll see two lighter squares in the water next to the land. Fish here. Cast only on the right-half of the area. As you reel, you will see lunkers spawning at 20 Feet on the right.
