A350-1000 Trent XWB vs B777-300ER GE90 Engine Battle! | Startups and Takeoffs

  • This video is a simple comparison of the two modern engines.
GE90-115b the biggest and the most powerful commercial engine available.
RR Trent XWB-97 One of the most efficient engines in the world.
Both engines' take off performance settings are unknown.
GE90 does sound like it was quite derated, but that is just a speculation.
This is just a general comparison.
Do you think the roar of the new Trent XWB beats the classic grumbling sound of the GE90?
    Which is your favorite?

The realtor had to stop talking while they took off. After they were gone she was just about to begin speaking again when four F16's roared over also in full burn. This was followed shortly by a pair of BONE's and what I am guessing was a tanker (3 engine, MD11/KC forgot what it was called.) The realtor thought she had lost the sale due to the jets. Honestly that was the only good point the house had was a free airshow. The answer to which of these engines sounds better I am going to say YES.

    Just so u know
U can't use dis for a very precise sound comparison
Both engines aren't set to the same takeoff power setting and they aren't lifting the same weight.
The outside temperature and field height is not also the same.
But both engines are very lovely

The field height is actually the same, both takeoffs are from Doha
All the rest is correct tho

Interesting, but not complete.! From experience, on take off undoubtedly the RR is way louder with it's roar, however the GE is more of a whine, but by the time cruising power/altitude is reached the RR goes almost completely silent whereas the GE still whines, albeit to a lesser extent than on take off.

I noticed that too. The A350 is a much quiter plane than other widebodys I've flown.
