I’ve only done Level 2 at Langar due to work and weather but watching this big smiles all round from me! Fantastic watching and can’t wait to be back in the air to complete my course! Blue skies my friend!

I did my first tandem two days ago at langar and am booked for my AFF next Monday 😆🤙 so excited !!!

As an AAF student from the late 80’s I can say all 7 levels are similar. Not an active jumper now but takes me back. Nice.

Congratulations! I’m so happy for you. I saw that your journey into skydiving started with a Red Devils tandem, I’m doing a tandem next month (18th of May) with The Red Devils and I’m super excited for it, I already know I’m going to want to do the AFF after! This is awesome to see. Im begining to save towards doing my AFF course now. Whats it like finding groups to go out with around the UK? I've looked online but can only see tandem skydives, is it hard to find groups of licensed skydivers in the UK to jump with each week/month?
I jump at Skydive Langar, when you do your AFF, you will meet loads of brilliant people, I don’t go down with anyone, but can always find someone to chat to, or jump with. They are all a brilliant bunch, like a second family.

Get some tunnel time if possible, and then Relax and enjoy the journey. Don’t put to much pressure on yourself and listen to the instructors. You won’t regret it.
I am truly excited to do this but will skip the tandem jump and just go straight to lv1
Many people do, I loved the tandem, it’s what made me realise that this is what I wanted to do. Good luck, you will love it.

Hi. I just travelled down each day, was easier as Covid rules etc when I did mine. It’s an amazing place, super friendly. Some of the guys camped for the week. You will have a blast. Well done.

Obviously pricing differs from different schools,but was just wondering how much it cost per day or jump once you’ve got your level 8 so that you can add more solo jumps to your license?
I pay £26 for the jump then £14 to hire their kit. Price reduces if you book blocks of 10

Did my AFF at Langar in 1992 with Dave Hinkley and Dave Morris. Had to repeat 1 level (number 6 I think) but completed in 9 skydives. Shat myself, not literally, doing my final jump on my own. Great times and great camaraderie back then. Had 4 years of jumping before coming to Asia where sadly there was no skydiving.
Dave is still there and jumping, and still a great place.
Made it look easy since level 1. Lol.

I paid £1800, that was all 8 AFF levels and 10 consol jumps. Costs will go up if you fail a level and have to retake one. This was a package deal at Langer. Not sure about other drop zones. Worth every single penny.
Well done! Test book. I had a financial question.. Did you save up for the AFF, AND subsequent qualifying jumps and your own gear all at once or you kept paying gear rental? Thanks mate!
Hi, yes saved for the full course, and luckily passed all levels first time. Then started to build equipment, the instructors at Langar were brilliant in advising what to buy and when. Renting club canopy is a good way to go while saving up. Worth every penny.

Planning to do the residential there this year, is that what you did Neil?
I did it in a week, but travelled each day, some camped. It is a super friendly place and amazing instructors. Hopefully see you down there.

Go on the Langar Facebook group and contact someone about tunnel time, it will be money well spent. The instructors teach pre AFF in the tunnel. The experience is second to none, most amazing thing you will ever do.
Iv just done my 1st tandem I want to do the aff the only bit I’m worried about is landing part have u got someone on the ground telling u what to do
For the first few levels you have a radio (think you can see it on the side of my helmet). Someone on the ground the talks you down. After a few jumps you know what to do. High recommend giving it a go.

how was it learning to parachute down after the free fall?
For the first few jumps you have a radio and get talked down by the instructor. It’s a beautiful time floating around enjoying the view.
