Using the standalone power supply is brilliant!
I only have a modern Stern and use Wiz strip lighting. I also run them through the holes in the back and under the metal mesh after removing a couple of staples. The strip lights have an adhesive strip making it a very clean install. I use Wiz lights all over my gameroom (can lighting, underseat theatre recliner lighting, etc). They are completely color customizable, dimmable, time programmable if you want, have several programmed dynamic modes., a phone app, and a remote. It would be possible to make a 12V harness and power them that way too but I'm lazy and just use the service outlet.
I'm new to all this and your videos help me out all the time. You teach me things I need to learn AND you give me ideas I didn't know I needed. THANK you!!

I mean this is all practical and a good way to go about it, but you could also just buy a Govee bluetooth led light strip for $20 and make a custom light show.
At the very least solder those wires after you twist them. To many times I’ve run into problems with the quick and easy method. Also can get a de-pinning tool and just pop the pins out of the molex as well. Love the videos Cary, what color would you go with for a MMR Royal?
"know your audience". Most people don't have said tools and have experience with solder. So, I show this simple dirty method. I specified it isn't the 'best' method. For MMr I would go with yellow or purple (color of Royalty).
@@CaryHardy went with Ler mods that ties into the speaker lights so it changes colors with the speaker lights and gameplay. Will see how this turns out. Thanks

Alexa Strips so much easier. USB power separate. Tell Alexa pins on all the pins light up. Can even make them all turn on at dusk and off at sunrise. So much easier to install also.
I may do something like that with recessed lighting for when I upgrade my gameroom...

There is a reason I have them on the front and back. I can neither confirm or deny I have damaged a set on a game in the past by them being near the center....
Question: Where you placed the lighting won't this get in the way if you take the machine off its legs and then place it onto a dolley?
Nope. My lift cart goes directly in the middle.

The colors blending on the ground from each machine has been what has stopped me from doing this on all my machines.. imbue I thi k it looks great when the machines are seperated

You would think Mezel mods would make a coupling in the middle that can be unplugged to fit it through a hole versus cutting the wiring🤦🏻♂️
