- You know what’s causing this insane inflation? No, you silly person, it can’t be printing TRILLIONS of dollars and pumping them into the economy in order to buy votes: that would mean it’s the GOVERNMENT’S fault and we can’t have that, can we? No, the ruinous increase in food prices caused by the Biden / Harris administration is actually due to PRICE GOUGING on the part of grocers and farmers! And they mean to do something about it, too!

They're not stupid... but they know that their voter base is.
💯💯 Madison was deeply concerned about Inerts in society, rendering democracy absurd. Imagine what he would see now!
It's a bit of both , some of them are so addicted to the place they were put in that they don't even know
that their words have to match actions and accomplishments to have actual credibility.
Yes
End price gouging! Start with government at every level.
ABSOLUTELY 💯!!!
Prevailing wage is price gouging
Retired grocery guy here. We would raise prices if we could have, but all those pesky competitors kept us from doing it. Hence the sub 2% profit margins.
Nothing is ever a Democrats fault! They are never accountable for anything.
The Republicans are in on it too , like George Carlin said ? They have a Club . And we’re not in it ! Power & Money change people’s values after exposed , Bummer !
Yep, they've never been wrong and they never lie.
like toddlers.
GRRRR!
This so- called "price gouging" was not even a talking point whatsoever until she suddenly decided she was going to tackle it. Personally, I think it is made up so she can have a number one bullet point on her policy list.
AND SHE PICKED THE STUPIDEST ONE AT THAT! TYPICAL FOR SKAMALALA!
The worst price gouging is at any airport or pro game.
Give up both.

Kroger: our prices increased to cover costs
Harris Admin: we're is suing you
...a few months later
Kroger: even though we won our lawsuit against the government, it still ended up costing our corporation almost a million dollars, so we have to increase our prices
Harris Admin: Kroger is price gouging

To Scott Ott - I'm turning 65 in a month. I have known the term "gaslighting" for 40 years. It is NOT an alien term.
I'm a millennial, and yes, it's a very well-known term. And very applicable these days, especially to the media.
@kendavis8046 you forget, we are dealing with liberal progressive democrats who don't know who we fought in the revolution, who won the civil war, or how many stars are on the flag. The low information
Voters sway the election...Democrats know this and play it well
saw the movie where the term came from. I'm THAT old.
Today they say" it's Sus"
So YOU have decided since YOU the 65 year old can't pronounce often YOU will dictate to us. We must comply.
A lot of the increased costs for food, gas, produce, farming comes from increased costs for diesel fuel to operate farm equipment and what transportation costs are to get the stock onto the grocery shelves. When Joetato shut down the oil pipeline on day one that was the first red flag that has grossly snowballed prices on EVERYTHING!!!
Amen
Groceries have very little markup at the market.
If something is high, then the price for the grocer is high. The grocer cannot be blamed.
It's less than 2%
Folks better get ready for her being in office UNLESS this GOP wakes up and grows some BALLS!!! They need to have multiple Reps at EVERY VOTE COUNTING STATION 24/7!!!
I have always (60 years as a homemaker) believed that grocers are underappreciated.
GROCERS ARE THE MOST ESSENTIAL of any essential!
Stores will not sell products on which they can't make any profit, unless they are loss leaders
And loss leaders must be covered by other sales.
When I started my Veterinary Practice many years ago in a medium size town we had a meeting on all the Veterinarians one evening, one Dr spoke up to say we need to set minimum fees for spays, vaccines etc. An older Dr spoke up and said we cannot do that, it’s called price controls! Not really legal!
I'm an Army retiree. Thank God for the Commissary!
90% of grocery store’s profits come from less than 10% of what they sell…usually all high end goods (e.g., gourmet cheese). Most stuff is break even or even sold at a loss to get people in the door.
People don't know the term loss leaders. Things like milk are sold at a loss and placed where poeple need to pass profitable items for that POP decison to buy.
If I identify as a chicken and move to Colorado can I get one of those 2 bedroom condos with a mountain view?
LMFAO! You win the Internet today!
The Venezuelan gangs beat you to it . . .
Scott is on fire today. Absolutely nailed it
Everyone knows what Gaslighting is, even if they haven’t heard of the movie.
I love how Steve listed “taking us off the gold standard” on the list of stupid Nixon things before I needed to comment it.
I heard it started with Lyndon Johnson, I always thought it was Nixon. He just closed the Gold exchange Window. I was surprised to hear that, but it looks like it's true.
@@digger105337 - FDR started the process with his Great Gold Robbery (still the biggest heist in American history); Nixon just delivered the _coup de grace._
Thus showing that screwing people out of their money to make war and grow government is a true bipartisan effort.
Government throws a million tiny pictures at you , you study them , but never see the big picture, it’s a Mosaic
"Gaslighting" is a very mainstream term. Any problems with it stem from overuse rather than unfamiliarity.
like "triggered" or "racism"
You are correct.
The time for Atlas to shrug is upon us.
I would agree with you,but I am waiting to see what happens in November... we may get a reprieve😃, or not😢
What would John Galt do?🤔
The eeeeevil capitalists price gouge, but the benevolent, caring, compassionate socialist government doesn’t tax gouge.

I raise my own chickens and sell fresh eggs. No matter what the store does, I always sell eggs at 2.50 a dozen. Large brown eggs. My hens free range. Those are $5 at the store.
directions to your egg stand? Can't find jumbo eggs anymore, big egg companies must be using cheap feed.😂
No, Scott!
She's waging war on "price gauging".
Read her lips!

Before and after this video I got assaulted by Obama asking for money for his “friend Kamala.” Talk about wasted advertising funds!
This yet another horrible proposal by Kamala Horrible Harris. . .
I'd like to pin them down on how this "price control" is to be effected. There are only two ways to do it. You can set a profit margin cap; or you can set a direct price cap; but either of them will end up with government telling retailers they are required to operate at a loss. Ask city officials in SF what happens then.
Maybe the company that bears the name of John Kerry's wife doesn't need to make a 780% profit increase over the last 3 years.
And how much money will it cost to investigate all of these people?
I am being gaged at the market whatever that means. Next step collectives the farms.
What happens when a supplier can't sell to the customer at a profit - they go out of business, or move on to selling something else they can at a profit.
The Harris plan just ensures that the commodity they wish to regulate will disappear from the regular supply chain and then will pop up on the black market at a higher price.
Before Scott’s running commentary, I would have never believed that I could hear Kamala and genius in the same sentence. And I have to be serious, that faux pas hurt my brain.
Steve, as a fellow Colorado resident, I have to share that last night I saw eggs for $10.49/dozen. And no eggs for less than $5.99/dozen. This was at a local Safeway.
Just one quick correction.
She wants to stop "price gauging".
Carry on...
None of the idiots caught that.
1) she means every word! 2) even if she did not mean this scheme it’s a window into the chaos she plans for this country and every citizen in it! There’s nothing funny about her or her ideology/plans.
Did you notice that rachel ray cat food doubled in price within the last year ? :D
Skammalala is full of bs
As a recent resident of Pennsylvania, there is nothing that I eat that I can't get within 20 miles of my house. Not that there are shops in that area, that's where it's raised or grown. I haven't had a meal that wasn't all natural locally sourced in 6 months (except when I was on vacation). I think I stumbled upon the ultimate place to be if there were a zombiepocalypse. We're food secure and everyone is armed.
OMG! Is Scott finally waking up to reality? Has he finally seen that politicians are his enemies?
When this was tried in Australia decades ago people diversified their products. Government milk vanished from the shelves and various organic milks appeared. The dairies were the same. Wheat regulations and wheat board monopoly buying resulted in a boom in quinoa, amaranth and other grains we had never heard of. Egg regulations drove the sales of backyard chickens coops feed and things.
Prices come down and more self checkouts go up
The modern way to go after "price gougers" is to hit them up for contributions they can recover through higher prices charged to the consumer.
Just think if everyone bought directly from the Farmer & Rancher , no middle men , we’d have billionaire farmers & ranchers , and you’d pay probably less then half price , and get higher quality food
Are you going to drive 100 miles to get a steak? Then another 100 to get some eggs and another 100 to get some milk, then hop on a plane to get some coffee? That's what it would take buying direct from the Farm. Think a bit. That's why we have grocery stores. They buy from those producers and pay the cost of transportation to a location close to buyers.

The beard is his best feature.
All I care about is meat. You couldn't pay me enough to eat broccoli. 😂
In the Federal Register, USDA is already putting forth regs to control meat prices across the country. What she is projecting as a future plan for her admin is happening today.
If you can't trust the government, then who CAN you trust?
In the case of eggs, a big part of the price increases is the government’s USDA constantly ordering the culling of millions of laying hens! We’re getting close to 9 million chickens being taken out of the market since November 2023.
Overall, please also highlight how raising the cost of energy affects everything. The price of diesel fuel and now a wave of laying off drivers is about to form a perfect storm of even more shortages.
I live in a fairly rural area on the eastern side of the US, I can tell you, as someone who goes through way more than 5 dozen eggs a month for a family off 4, eggs are crazy expensive right now in our area too. 5 dozen eggs are almost $20. Whereas just a short few years ago, while Trump was in office, 5 dozen eggs were only around $10. Again, this is in my area of the country where I live. I have found local people with chickens who will sell eggs for a lot less.
Colorado: No Yokes for you. 🐔😂
Nixon tried it when I was in High school I remember that shortages were the immediate result. Milton Friedman likened it to trying to hold a lid down on a boiling kettle and turning up the heat.

Notorious BG?! 😂😂😂
but she *was* talking about going after big pharma too... she was talking about controlling the price of medications

Ohhh, I gotta slightly disagree with ya Steve. At the time, the EPA was definitely needed and has done a wonderful job in achieving the job it was assigned. But like modern feminism, which also was very needed a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, it has solved the issues that plagued the environment and is now a solution in search of a (real) problem.
And before Scott even asked Bill his question for him, you could see him bursting to answer. 😂😂😂
2 things about Gaslighting.
It's become significantly more popular to use the term, mostly correctly, because it's reentered the zeitgeist through social media "influencers"
and...telling a group of people, most of whom seem to be old enough to have shaken George Washington's hand as congress critters, to use more current terms, is a loosing proposition.
Every time I see Walz all I see is Elmer Fudd.
Just one little correction, She's coming after price *_gaugers._* No idea what a 'price gauger' is, but that's what she very intelligently read off of the teleprompter.
What drives up the price of food (or pretty much any consumer product)? Transportation. Printing money has part of the blame for inflation but the lowered production of energy is what really determines the prices on everything. What we really need to do is "drill baby drill" but also remove a lot of the stupid regulations on building nuclear power plants to lower that cost and provide cheap abundant energy. With lower energy costs the price of everything goes down.
grocery chain here (Winn Dixie) .... around New Orleans area ... have BOGOs (buy one get one) ... I always shop for those deals FIRST (what's on sale, basically) .... I check the weekly circular .... but if all groceries DID THAT too, it would surely help to stock ahead on some items .... plus stores could unload overstock/surplus, right?
@@fpointla1 Unfortunately BOGOS are usually unhealthy foods.

Flip Flopping Scamala 🤮
Grocery store companies need to run Trump type ads where they show her saying Bidennomic and the prices have gone up sine binder Harris took office
The government controls the inflation or the Federal Reserve? The people vote in more inflation by wanting more services. The debt went up 8 trillion under Trump, I heard.
Hey Scott, even out that beard.
Does Scott think his beard is becoming or is he preparing for Christmas?
Stupid question, vut if the government can print money and the government collects money, why cant it literally burn trillions of dollars to lower inflation?
Communist WILL BE COMMUNIST
Harris did not pick Tim. She did not decided to do it his bit about prices. She is following orders
Her own.
WHERE, OH WHERE IS ZO RACHEL THESE DAYS?? I haven’t been able to find anything at all on the internet from him that isn’t two years old. Is he all right??
Speaking of "printing trillions of dollars", you might be interested to know that Trump increased USA debt by double the rate of Biden. So when it comes to printing money, Trump was no slouch.
On Aug. 15, 1971, in a nationally televised address, Nixon announced, “I am today ordering a freeze on all prices and wages throughout the United States.”
After a 90-day freeze, increases would have to be approved by a “Pay Board” and a “Price Commission,” with an eye toward eventually lifting controls..."
So, either Nixon was a communist, which a bit difficult to believe, or your characterization of Harris as a commie is wrong. Seeing as Nixon was completely anti-communist, I'll go with option B.
You clearly didn't listen to her. She said that she would after the "price gaugers" not price gougers. I'm guessing she read the teleprompter incorrectly.
I don't think KH will do anything about prices. It's far too complex. An administrator must know the entire costs associated with a good or service. A retailer has difficulties analyzing the costs. Would a federal czar be given a view inside the data? Better have at least 2 years to develop the software and tremendous cpu power.

Steve when will you realize that those of us in Boulder are smarter than the rest of you. We were anointed to lead Colorado. That fact is why I'm running for HD-12 and trying to unseat the appointed career politician currently holding that position. Actually my opponent is running on climate change, equity, and LGBTQXYE+ while I'm concerned by the cost of living, $10 billion state budget increase during COVID, and the non-existent crime and gang problem. I'd love to see PigglyWiggly in Boulder if the merger goes through. I know that the city and county would force them to change their name because their name is fat shaming and racist.
Actually, boomer Scott, gas-lighting is a modern term now that people are using in conversations about relationships. Women talk a lot about narcissists and use the term gas-lighting in the same conversation.

@@century2298 And why is that "good"?
Scott!! Stop swearing!! You said "Harris Administration".
Need More of Jesus?
It seems there isn't much time left. It is time to make our decision on whom we want to serve.
If your world needs more Jesus then get Jesus applied to it, and do it now. Let's keep it simple.
Jesus is The Word, John 1:1-5
The Word God spoke: Exodus 20:1
The Word God wrote: Deuteronomy 4:13
and The Word God made flesh John 1:14
Those Ten Commandments is who Jesus is in spirit as our King and Lord.
Those Ten Commandments is the law God wrote upon the hearts of people. And have you heard, the law was hung on the cross?
Let's remember it is when we removed those Ten Commandments from our schools, court houses etc. that vacuum allowed evil to enter in. and our world began to crumble.
So let's get them back by putting those Ten Commandments in our homes and on our property etc.. Display them wherever we can for if evil came when the Ten Commandments was removed, then by placing them back, evil must back off because evil and good cannot be in the same space.
According to Deut.6:8-9 The Father had the children of Israel to wear them which isn't a bad idea. Maybe those Ten Commandments will also protect our children as well.
So get Jesus back in our world because we now know that He who is in us is more powerful than he who is in the world. We just put Jesus in our world and let our light shine. Jesus will help us win this war on evil. We can live without fear wherever Jesus is. Is your home built on The Rock?
Let's go light up the world and may we welcome our Lord Jesus Christ back in our life and world. If the Holy Spirit is in you, bring Him forward and allow Him to go before you.
For those who need more read;
John 6:63 the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Revelations 12:17 and
Psalms 110:151
If you want to make to the end, Keep the Commandments. And remember, even if we have the respite from the struggles of the next election, we'll have to face the argument in another four years. Pray for the respite any way.The Truth will set us free.
All Scripture is King James Version.
AMEN!

We don't need to be on a gold standard. The government can be funded completely tax free, debt free, and interest free on a fiat currency without inflating it.
It sounds like youve thought about this deeply. I'd love to hear your economic theory on this.
@@santosh911 I've thought about it for years. I first went down the rabbit hole when I first saw Bill Still's 'The Money Masters" (which is on youtube) which really opened my eyes to how money can be created. Years later when I thought about our government issuing money and then taxes not really making a dent in the deficit and debt I thought why even tax us if printing all this money isn't causing hyper inflation (like a loaf of bread costing 2 billion dollars over night). This is the short explanation to help people start their thought process. What helped me start thinking was I stopped listening to music. I literally don't listen to music anymore and I learned I can think better without it. Good journeys on your study through this.
@@santosh911 I'm a little disturbed that my explanation has been take down after coming back to this conversation. I figured I would see it here only to find that it is gone. I guess the powerfully money elites had CZcams take it down because they don't want people to see how a debt free, tax free, interest free fiat system would work.
