What's For Dinner? | We Had Some GREAT Meals This Week!

- čas přidán 2. 07. 2024
- We have 5 meals to share with you guys this week! Well, 4 if you don't count the one where I went for takeout. If you're new to our channel, back in January of this year we participated in a Pantry Challenge Collaboration - where you basically don't go grocery shopping, and you cook all your meals from what you already have stored away. The videos were really fun to shoot and edit, so after the month was over - we kept them going. These video aren't intended to be how-to recipe videos, but more of an inspiration video for you to leverage our ideas in your own kitchen. Cooking should be easy and fun, and it can be a great way to bring a couple together to work on a common goal. We hope these videos inspire you in some way ♥

Todd , love watching you cook.Rachael is so blessed.
Yes she is, he is way too sweet.
Love watching a man cook! I like it that both of you are involved with the channel. You are a fun couple to watch. Have a great week.
Great camera shots in the kitchen! Thought I was watching a cooking show intro.
I just have to say...I love that you guys dress "up" for the day! If I worked from home, I would be in a sweatshirt and jammie pants all of the time! Food looks delicious also!
Yummy looking meals ! Rachel you are so fortunate that Todd cooks…..I make all the meals in our home. Hope you enjoy your grandbaby. 🙏🏽
Ok you had me there in the beginning... Todd’s makinggggg an eel? 🤔😂 You guys are the cutest. ♥️
🤣 It had me wondering too
It kind of did look gross eh ♥
@@1870s I just couldn’t guess this time! Ya got me! 😂
Love seeing those mad knife skills, Chef Todd. Thanks for sharing another week's worth of meals. Take care.
I love these videos! Thanks for sharing. It’s so nice that Todd Cook’s. Those knife skills shots are epic!
Spring is fleeting- had a warm day last weekend - windy! - then it was back to frigid. Luckily I started my seeds indoors on a heat pad. :) We finally have a streak of nice weather this week, and an extra hour of daylight. Good for the soul!
Thank you for keeping up with these videos despite how busy you are. I guess like grocery hauls, it's just interesting to see what other people do for their meals.
With fried rice, we always sauté eggs separately first, and if there are any veggies or meat that has a lot of moisture, we also sauté those first to evaporated the water. We always put rice in last and break that down in its own and add the other ingredients last to mix. Hot hot hot cast iron pan is also key to not have mushy fried rice
Hi Todd. I really enjoy it when you cook. Even the prep, bc I appreciate your proper knife skills. Thanks for that
And on a random note, really liked your music choices 🤗 Take care
♥
Love these meal videos!! They have such a relaxing asmr vibe to them ♥️
Hi Rachel and Todd. That was a wonderful dinner Todd even if it was spicy. The two of you have so much fun together. I love that and more. The weather was a little cold, heat and then rainy,; and snowy but no snow on the ground just rain. This week will be beautiful for two days and then more rain again. God Bless you Todd and Rachel. Have fun with the baby Rachel. Maria. 😇😇😇😇😇😇❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😘😘😘😘😘😘
Never thought to mix corn and green beans! I’ll definitely have to try that this summer!
I always hit the like button when the video starts. I know it's going to be good.
Did you enjoy?
I did...always do!!
It is so fun to watch all the different ideas forr meals, very interesting!,was curious of what Tom pow was?
I recognize Vince's! When we come up to visit my husband's family, we always make a stop there and a stop at Independent Dairy.
When you cook fried rice you fry the egg with the cold rice. Then add the rest of your ingredients that don’t take too long to cook😉
When you cook fried rice you cook it however you want to. That's why you're cooking...so you can have it your own way.
I hope my husband and I make to days like yours! Still have a 15 year old with us. Love my kids and my husband too!
Chili dog season is the best, one of my favs opened. A few weeks ago! Fridge clean out meals. Don’t always look the best. But sure. Can be amazing.
Yummy thank you for sharing! I now have a true appreciation for the amount of time that goes into making a video. 😊
The number of camera angles you switch to for one meal (like all that onion chopping😉) is crazy.
Thank you thank you for continuing to share.
Thanks for sharing. They all look good.
I'm really enjoying the What's for Dinner videos. It gives me some ideas. Great knife skills. Thanks for sharing.
I love that you show the best and the things you need to change.......keeps it real. I love it. Great videos....my husband and I cook and can together a lot
I really love these videos! Thanks for sharing with us!
Forgot to mention great knife skills Todd!!!!!!!! I know you said you cooked at a country club. All the years as a chef I never worked at a CC. Oh and now Rochelle and I are starving. LOL God Bless Mike
At a CC yeah for a while. Moved around a lot after that to quite a few different places. The CC was my favorite though - so much diversity.
I love love love these videos!
Love sharing this part of your lives. LOVE watching you cook!
Everything looks delicious!!!!!
Great filming, great food. Thanks guys, you always inspire me in the kitchen.
Peace and love from Northern Ontario 💗🍁
Great visuals on the onions and sausages!
Another week of good eats. Everything looked tasty. Will be exciting to feed the Bees this week. So glad they made it this winter. Hope Rachel had a fabulous time with the grandbaby.
The looks great as always. The insta-pot along with the air fryer the best invention for the kitchen and more of a healthy way to cook.
My daughter won't usually eat ground beef but she actually like my canned ground beef since it ends up being so fine ground! So definitely a staple for us
Great eating this week! Thanks Todd!
Hi, just live watching 5he two if you. Thank you for sharing.
Love you guys.
Enjoyable!!
Awesome video Todd & Rachel
🙏♥️♥️🙏🐕🐕
Loving these videos so much 💙❤️
I've been getting lots of meal ideas, thank you. Love your videos
Love yalls content!!
When we make fried rice we always make the scrambled eggs in a separate pan and then add to the rice and other ingredients. We learned the hard way with fried rice mush too 😁
This is cooking I can get behind! Everything in one pot, take what you have etc.
everything looks great enjoy watching your cooking videos
I love that jambalaya mix. When I do it, I add a jar of diced tomatoes to it and cut back on the water a little bit
Todd makes me nervous when he chops. It’s amazing how he does it.
It all looks delicious.
Todd, the look of pure enjoyment on your face at your first bite of chili dog was great! I'm sure we all have some favorite food that evokes those important, happy memories! Hope you got more good baby time in, Rachel!
Evening. You should try Simmering your Green beans in butter to tenderize them... But here is a twist. Savory Herb and salt and pepper its what i do here. However unless you grow Savory herb it is hard to get your hands on... but its yummy.
Awe man a green onions on chilli dog so good
Hey I live in the deep, deep south of Louisiana love that ya'll love the food. Just a little FYI you can add chicken and pork plus the sausage to jambalaya. Oh and a little secret Tony's is better than zatarain
If Rachel was home, we usually toss in a jar of canned chicken. She spent a lot of her childhood growing up in Louisiana ♥
I am so glad i’m not the only one that gets scattered when there’s lots going on.. my mind definitely can’t multitask AT ALL!! I have found some things in VERY weird places….OOY VE..
Wowww Todd! Great camera work for the jambalaya/sausage dinner. Wtg 👏👏😎🤩
I shouldn't watch late at night sure gets me hungry
Todd, have you thought about freeze drying your leftover jambalaya? I’ve found that soups and combinations seem to do well.
Yes, I almost did with this batch. It's in freezer now, but I can always transfer it. May do this weekend coming up, if it rains like I'm hearing.
Todd you make me so hungry!. Thanks for the inspiration. Oh noooo Rachel!. See what happens when you're busy?. Just start all over, it will be okay. Yum, Jambalaya! Looking forward to the bees and garden.
Great knife skills 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Todd has some serious knife skills 👍
Spring in Texas is generally referred to as "pre summer"
Looks delicious.
You both are awesome I used to stop on mmyy way out. And back in town get 4 slaw dogs ...Mmmmmm...thanks for sharing God bless you all
I always cook my egg first, then brown my chicken or pork really well, put aside, then whatever veg ur using. Then fry the rice alone in butter , it takes awhile for it to be good. You want a little crunch to it. Then add everything together and toss. I always make sure I have green onion. Small sweet pepper, and grated carrot. Lastly add a swirl of soya sauce roughly 4-6 tbsp and about a tbsp of oyster sauce. And a bit of sesame oil😋
Born and raised in New Orleans and I’d like a taste of your jambalaya…looks great
Thanks for a great video!
Glad you liked it!
New to your channel! Your dinner looks delicious..tfs ❤️Blessings from Indiana
I make the peach salsa and also mango. I like the mango the best!
I love a hood chili dog , I also like slaw dogs, a quick meal when you just don’t feel like cooking 🧑🍳 those potatoes look so good, I am curious to see if you will do anything special for St.Paddy’s day! Enjoy that grand baby Rachel!
Hi from south Louisiana. The rice dish tickled me as we make a breakfast called egg jambalaya. Usually with browned sausage, rice, eggs and sometimes a bit of cheese. He’s right, not the prettiest but always tasty !
Great meals nothing much better than home cooking except for those Chili Digs Mark they looked amazing !! Love y’all’s page ❤️🙏✝️🙋🏻
I’m sorry I called you Mark , Todd I know your name but I just miss spoke it in my comment , please forgive me I love your and Rachael’s page ! God bless and I hope you enjoyed your chili dogs ! ❤️🙏✝️🙋🏻
🤗
Ah chili dogs love them, and yes you can eat them for lunch and then dinner or anytime. ! You have me wanting them, I love with an addition of sauerkraut sometimes . If I didn't already have meatballs and sauce in the crockpot for spaghetti - We would be having chili dogs and coleslaw. Tomorrow dinner for sure!
Lol!
Your ground beef - did you use lean ground beef? It tends to be hard and unappetizing. One remedy is to use medium fat ground beef and cook it off a bit, then can. Yes, you end up with some fat in the jar, but you're saving bacon grease aren't you? A much more tender end product.
I love this channel!
Thank you Wanda ♥
Oh my. Now I am craving a good Chili dog like none other. Where I grew up in Northern MN, we had a carhop type place that had the best chili dogs but was only open May to September. If it wasn't a 5 hour drive, I'd probably head up there as soon as they opened. lol You all have the best meals. Homey and yet different in some ways. I love it. Nothing like home cooking, but dang it sometimes a Chili dog is just worth it. Have a fantastic week!
Shrimp looks yummy 😋
Oh man Todd, I'm originally from RI & we have a place called NY System, we called them belly busters, every trip, we have our designated stops for food, belly busters, Dells frozen lemonade, and Iggy's in Warwick for clam cakes & fried dough.
Oh Guys those prawns looked amazing & now craving fresh prawns (this weekend definitely). Todd of course you can eat Chili Dogs whenever you feel like them when you are Batching (bachelor cooking). My husband used to have to go away to repair Medical Equipment & would be away for about 4 days- Man Oh Man !! I ate anything I wanted. Wow I haven't had Jambalaya since I was in New Orleans many years ago- I am now craving it as well. GREAT VIDEO. Cheers Denise- Australia
Video and knife skills 🎯
We have something similar in Western NY called Texas Hots. The sauce is spicy not sweet like chili sauce. I also order no onions...haha.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think we frequent the same chili dog place. Yummy!
Cant wait until or new camera arrives, going to do some fun cooking. Yawl always make us hungry LOL Mike
Here’s somthing good
Jasmine rice cooked with garlic
Crabmeat ( imitation crab meat) works great put on top of rice
Raw celery tiny chunks sprinkled over it
Lots of chunked fresh garlic
Parmesan cheese sprinkled over it all and then some mozzarella cheese over it all and melt half stick butter pour all over it all and baked at 400 degrees I put chives on the top as well . It’s very good
Good food!
Would love to see you make your peach salsa :)
Loving your what’s for dinner videos, so many recipes I want to make. I don’t know if you’ve covered it in previous videos but what kind of work do you guys do besides your homestead?
We both work in corporate jobs in IT. Todd is more technical, Rachel is more policy based and management.
❤
♥
I found that if you cook it on high and drain the broth off then cook more
Impressive cutting skills
Happy Birthday
Does the lil dog that is always at the stove while you guys are cooking ever get a bite?? 😊
Wait, Jerome Country Market, I know where that is! Born and raised in MI, now in Cincinnati and my former in laws live in that area. There is another amazing meat market just south of Jerome's, yep you know the one. Miss their meats!
That's where we take our animals for processing. While there, we usually grab some extra items to stash away ♥
It all looked so good as always! Even that Coney Dog! I just love watching you two. I always wonder about your jar lid remover. Do you have a link to it?
You can only really get them on ebay or etsy. Example link: www.ebay.com/itm/223945835277
Hey did you ever think to use the canned hamburger to make chile for your hot dogs. The texture of the hot dog chile is very fine/mushy. Love your channel
Yeah here in Maine spring is called Mud season.
Hi Rachel & Todd, always fun, I'm having my dinner too, just hamb w/ corn in grave over egg noodle, & a homemade pumpkin muffin w/ shivered almonds on top.
That's all that matters is the taste
I'm a little late on the watch party to these dinner vlogs, sorry, but better late than never! 😊 I've been watching and have to say Todd, that you mostly seem to always drink from a tumbler, maybe your favorite one?? Reminds me of good ole' uncle Sal from the Duck Dynasty show 😂He always drank from a favorite tumbler too AND he had a long beard as well! Maybe you're related? 😊 Anyhoo, I love pork loin dinners! My late hubby used to cook them in this Ronko rotisserie we had and he'd put Jasmine rice on the side. I always put soy sauce on my dish and he'd always just put butter on his rice. It was one of our weekly favorite meals. Thanks for sharing!
I actually have about 5 of those same cups. They came from walmart years ago for like $1 each - funny part is they were Duck Dynasty cups. They were mostly camo and each one had a different character from the show on them. I've used them so much, most of the print has worn off.
@@1870s That's hilarious!😂 I knew there had to be some kind of connection!
Some very good-looking meals. I thought it was funny how you ordered the chili dogs with no onions and then you cut up a lot of onions for the jambalaya. lol
Always curious when you guys talk about work. Anyone know what they actually do?
We both work in IT. Todd does system administration and Rachel currently doing legal / regulatory / budget forecasting / project management.
@@1870s that makes so much sense now! Totally see it with your personalities (:
Curiosity is filled lol thanks guys
Also love the weekly meal videos! Gives me so much creative with my own meals even tried copying a few lol
