How’d it go? I lost my autistic child at Gatwick South last October. She’s 12, pretty & demure looking, short blonde hair & eyes of deepest blue with the unfortunate knack of going off on her own. When approached by strangers she screams the most disgusting, vile, high pitched abuse at them until they run away... (honestly she doesn’t pick it up from us) which was how I located her, in full flow at a middle aged woman & her very shocked partner. She stopped dead when she saw me, went back to normal mode & allowed me to take her hand & lead her hastily back to her mother. Not a word of explanation did I get & as I’m sure you know asking would of been pointless. It gets a little easier as they mature I’m told.

thank you so much for this! im flying 9 hours to heathrow tomorrow as a 15 year old unaccompanied minor on british airways and as they dont have an unaccompanied minor service i was really terrified too because no videos showed how to get around so thank you very very much for this i feel at ease a bit now although its still overwhelming ill keep watching this over and over again to help me more. thanks a lot again!!!

Even though this was filmed a while ago this helped fill in the gaps that other more recent vids had even with the pandemic. Its my first international flight in a couple days so this eased some anxiety!

Thank you for sharing. My family and I made this trip in 2011 and 2016. In 2011 we didn't know what to expect so it was a sad surprise to find out we had to walk a ways, then go down stairs to the tram that was full, and then all the way back up and through security again. Heathrow is a beautiful airport but if you are transiting through, I recommend doing it when you have a 2+ hour layover for US/Europe flights. In 2016, we landed at Terminal 2 and had to go to Terminal 5, which included a lot of walking, elevators and a bus ride. And security. Again.

It is quite a walk isn´t it? In all honesty it is not as bad as it seems, but people with walking disabilities will definitely need to arrange airport transport from the gate to the baggage claim area. Thanks for watching and commenting.

This’ll be where I arrive on my first ever flight. I’m flying domestically and post-pandemic so I’m sure there’ll be differences but this gives me a good idea of what to prepare for, which is helpful!

We will be arriving from Canada in 2 weeks and staying overnight at a local hotel. As we have only done transfers through LHR in the past this was very helpful. I'm guessing that even after 6 years not much will have changed. Thanks for providing this.

Thank you for sharing. My family and I made this trip in 2011 and 2016. In 2011 we didn't know what to expect so it was a sad surprise to find out we had to walk a ways, then go down stairs to the tram that was full, and then all the way back up and through security again. Heathrow is a beautiful airport but if you are transiting through, I recommend doing it when you have a 2+ hour layover for US/Europe flights. In 2016, we landed at Terminal 2 and had to go to Terminal 5, which included a lot of walking, elevators and a bus ride. And security. Again.

This’ll be where I arrive on my first ever flight. I’m flying domestically and post-pandemic so I’m sure there’ll be differences but this gives me a good idea of what to prepare for, which is helpful!

We will be arriving from Canada in 2 weeks and staying overnight at a local hotel. As we have only done transfers through LHR in the past this was very helpful. I'm guessing that even after 6 years not much will have changed. Thanks for providing this.
