Dude!! Rotting 'Crushed' is such an underrated album!! The production is so massive...possibly the heaviest recorded drum sound I've ever heard. The guitar tone is pulverizing (love the early 90s dark Swedish DM melodies in there). Also, Kory's vocals are so gutteral and powerful!! I actually ordered 'Crushed' from Relapse Records back in 1999 as I was really into Canadian DM at that time (Gorguts, Necromortis, Kataklysm, Obscene Crisis, Solus, etc). Waiting for a reissue with bonus Rotting demo tracks!!

Turkish cenotaph is good stuff man. I accidentally bought their demo compilation off discogs thinking it was the Mexican one, and was super impressed with it either way. I found rotting - crushed earlier today off CZcams. Cool to see it make the list.
All amazing releases. Personally I would have added Sarcophagy - The Summoning, Sintury - Disgorging the Dead and Eternal Suffering - Drowning in Tragedy somewhere in that mix as some of my top albums.
Sintury has grown on me, Soils of Fate - Sandstorm is another fav

not many would mention Cerebral Hemorrhage on the tp 10 BDM list. i remember buying the tape when i was in college, the album is full of sick groove! cheers from Jakarta!
I got the ERYTROSY cd shortly after it came out. It’s a monster of an album, totally forgotten these days.
INTERNAL BLEEDING went all down hill after their debut. The demos, if you get the chance to hear them, blew the scene away and their album was massively anticipated as a result.
SCATTERED REMNANTS got a good reviews at the time but I didn’t feel the material justified it, personally.
I think I’ll go check out ROTTEN now... that sounded pretty good.
I agree with the Internal Bleeding Statement. Same case with Pyrexia they were pretty shit after Sermon of Mockery.
Glad to see Scattered Remnants so high on the list. I love everything that band has released, they got brutal death down to a science. I also wasn’t familiar with rotting but checked out that album and that shit absolutely slaps

Good list man. I will always have a soft spot for the late 90s/early 2000s brutal death sound.
early/mis 2000s BDM is underrated. It's not "oldschool" so it's not trendy, but back then bands still had their own identity and things hadn't yet become completely sterilized. And even slam was still atmospheric and disgusting, none of this dudeweed 420 bro slam.
I have just one entry I believe was either overlooked, or just not for you:

I’ll argue this is the darkest brutal death metal album in existence.

Good music taste bro, really good bands and albums, I like to hear all types of music and find a good thing in each one, but definitely my favorite genre is metal and of course brutal death metal, oldschool brutal death, goregrind, grindcore, deathgrind. It's my stuff

Internal bleeding have my favourite vocal patterns and growls so groovey and mixes so well with the bass and drum patterns. You can hear the bass!
Rotting is so overlooked, masterpiece. Scattered Remnants, dead on. Pyrexia Pathos version is purely essential, originators with Suffo and Repudiation. I would have to include the OG Deprecated ', Deriding His Creation', Pentagoria '...And The Sky Bled Gore', Inveracity 'Circle of Perversion' and Dehumanized 'Prophecies Foretold'. Probably Colonize The Rotting, and Eternal Suffering 'Drowning In Tragedy' as well

I’m more of a modern BDM fan, doesn’t mean I hate Old School BDM but I love how much more experimental the newer stuff is. If I was to have made some picks, I would’ve gone for:
Defeated Sanity - The Sanguinary Impetus
Wormed - Exodromos
Putridity - Ignominious Atonement
And Afterbirth - In But Not Of
Defeated Sanity and Afterbirth are very old school! defeated sanity demos were 1995 and afterbirth 1993!
@@jimmyfromtheblock3714 There’s no denying that they were around for a long while, but when I talk “modern” I mean sonically. Defeated Sanity sounds nothing like how they did before, they became bigs names with their progressive-tinged jazzy BDM, and I’d mostly say the same for Afterbirth, who with In But Not Of has changed massively from their releases before. Wormed could also be called old-school since they released their first demo in 1998, but once again they changed a lot from Planesphaerium to Exodromos. I hope that clears stuff up.

"A lot of slam freakin' sucks nowadays" couldn't agree more with that postulate. Back then bands were pushing forward and introducing new elements all the time. Now they all use the same patterns being Indonesia the capital of uninspired slam (can count with the fingers of one hand the good Banda coming from there).
One thing though about Internal Bleeding, I think it's interesting that you talk about imitating it but you didn't talk about the band that it imitated & started it all "Suffocation" what do you think?!

MDK - forensic is on my top ten of all time same with Internal bleeding. One NYDM band that i wish stayed together was Repudilation "purging of impurity" is one of sickest slam demo's ever produced in my opinion they made the blue print for bands that lay ahead. Wish they got to release a full length back in the day.
