I'll be blunt and say I am not a massive Xmas person, so naturally I can't stand Xmas music. But as someone who absolutely worships John Lennon, this is the one Xmas song I truly connect with. It is so beautifully written, and has such a deep meaning for a world that has been full of discrimination, war and violence, and stricken with COVID. I well up listening to it, if only more people could aspire to act like Lennon instead of acting like a bunch of self-righteous bigots. Politics aside, what makes it even more poignant is that it was written by a legend who was taken away from us in the worst circumstances ever. Nowadays, we aren't blessed with this level of songwriting.
This song brings me such an intense amount of anxiety. A couple years ago I watched a PSA about children in war. It was styled as one of those videos where you take one sec per day for a year. It follow are years in this girls life and you watch go from a normal kid to homeless to a refugee. It makes me think of all of those kids in Ukraine and it makes me so sad

Still remember this song as a kid and thought it was just a normal christmas song you can listen without knowing the lyrics.
I'll be blunt and say I am not a massive Xmas person, so naturally I can't stand Xmas music.
But as someone who absolutely worships John Lennon, this is the one Xmas song I truly connect with. It is so beautifully written, and has such a deep meaning for a world that has been full of discrimination, war and violence, and stricken with COVID. I well up listening to it, if only more people could aspire to act like Lennon instead of acting like a bunch of self-righteous bigots. Politics aside, what makes it even more poignant is that it was written by a legend who was taken away from us in the worst circumstances ever. Nowadays, we aren't blessed with this level of songwriting.

This song brings me such an intense amount of anxiety. A couple years ago I watched a PSA about children in war. It was styled as one of those videos where you take one sec per day for a year. It follow are years in this girls life and you watch go from a normal kid to homeless to a refugee. It makes me think of all of those kids in Ukraine and it makes me so sad

Me 20 thousands years Into the future finally giving in as I think I have done enough good for this world . Admiring as the snail slowly but surely approaches me. As I get flashbacks of the countless families I have outlive including thousands of generations, the millions of people that I have helped the countless achievements I have done for humanity , I've became symbol of peace and good. As I walk towards the snail I catch a glimpse of the snails sadness this whole time the countless salt, Poison, and glue traps that I have made this snail go through the million of miles he had traveled, he had been eaten, burnt, crushed, every form of death but yet he never truly rested he never found peace. i've come to realize that I'm not as good of a man as I thought to be I slowly walk towards the poor creature I extend my arm towards it touching it , as my body turns to dust I catch another glimpse of the nail, out of my 20 thousand years on this planet I have never seen a being express true relief true happiness TRUE REST.

For we both saw places we'd never see as a a normal person let a lone a single snail. Through the highest of mountains and the deepest of valley's, we saw everything there was to see. And now in a final embrace we complete the lives we both led independently yet interwoven.
"Oh little, little snail, what are you gonna do without an immortal human to chase around?" I ask jokingly, reaching towards my life's resolution.
"I'll be at peace, oh large, traveling giant," he said, but with a sweet somber in his voice that was as calming feeling akin to finally getting sleep after a restless night, "just like you, I too, shall be at peace."
As the sun sheds it's finally rays, exploding, the snail and I embrace. The long sleep soon takes us both.
