    Thank you. Decided to buy the charger without the 3rd party batteries. I also bought it with the 20,000 mAH PD battery bank which only added $20 in the Amazon bundle. I own many Sony NP-FZ100 battery chargers but needed one more. Also own the Jupio Tri-charge battery charger/power bank that I will compare it to. That’s great but twice as expensive which I why I didn’t buy a second one of those. Also own an ISDT NP2 Air and regular NP2 dual batter chargers but those stay at my desk for home use. Also have one ISDT LP2 for my Canon batteries. All of these support fast charging. All are plugged into a ISDT Power 200H 200W USB C Desktop Charging Station that also supports 4 PD ports and an inductive port/pad for my phone. This central power station shows you how much current is being used by each charger and you can status battery heath either via button or Bluetooth connected to the ISDT app on my phone. I hope the Llano is of equal quality but I will find out soon. Take care.

    Thanks for the review Phil looks like an interesting product. Like you I love the front display that shows battery percentage. Will come in handy especially if you want to know the state of charge of a battery without having to put it into the camera. Cheers.

    Morning Phil! I will echo Adrian’s comment here. It should come in handy the way those Soneys go through batteries! 😯 😂 Kidding! Sony has actually stepped up their game with greater capacities.
    It looks good and looks like a very novel solution. It would make for a future video opportunity as a follow up on how well the LLANO batteries perform? I’m with You on third party batteries. I have found the B&H house brands do OK, and Green Extreme as well. NiteCore has batteries for Nikon, Canon, Sony, and Fuji, and I have had really good luck with them. The fact your 6700 ‘recognized’ and worked well with the LLANO battery, is a positive.
    Take care and have safe travels to Canada, and Happy Shooting! 👍💪😊

      Thank you, George! I remember Sony having a bad reputation for battery life. Apparently, the current "Z" battery has fixed that. My little a6700 uses the same "Z" battery as the flagship a1, no camera I own has better battery life than my little a6700 with that big battery. I don't know how well the "Z" battery does with bigger cameras but it is pretty great on the little a6700. I like your idea of using the LLANO batteries in the field for a while and reporting back on how well they perform over time.

    Hey Phil! Nice video showcase! Just a suggestion: if you could probably compare it to other battery charger/s including the official sony one if you have it, that would be cool. Maybe even compare it to just charging with the camera body! Using one myself. Really nice charger.
    Question: Did you ever have the warning about third-party batteries pop-up on your camera with the llano batteries? or any other third party battery? What about on the latest firmware?

    • @PhilThach
      @PhilThach  Před 3 měsíci

      I saw no warnings and this battery is the only third-party battery I have ever used.

    Hi Phil, It looks like a really nicely made product !
    However, I recently got some Smallrig Canon batteries, and they have a slightly higher capacity than the original ones, but the great thing about them is they have an internal charger, so you could simply connect them through USB-C into your powerbank.
    The last few months I've been shooting mostly EFCS (to avoid rolling shutter effects), but when the battery is beyond halfway, the R5 slows down the fps. Such Smallrig battery I can take out at that point, and top it using the powerbank while shooting with another battery.

    • @PhilThach
      @PhilThach  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Interesting. I hope the R5 Mark II waits until 20% or lower before it slows down the performance of the camera.

    • @WernerBirdNature
      @WernerBirdNature Před 2 měsíci

      @@PhilThach even better! I don't get such slowdown in electronic mode. And it looks like the R5ii will get a stacked sensor with only marginal rolling shutter. So like the Z8 it would only have electronic shutter and no slowdown ..

    I’m local to Chattanooga. Found your content today. What is the best spot for wildflowers in the area?

    • @PhilThach
      @PhilThach  Před 3 měsíci

      That’s a good question. There are a couple of garden along the Tennessee Riverpark that I like. But as far as actual wild wildflowers I don’t have a great answer for you.

    Does the battery hub charge the battery without plugging?

    • @PhilThach
      @PhilThach  Před měsícem

      The hub only charges when it is connected to a power source.
