- Nemesis Sub-Terra has officially reopened at Alton Towers! In this vlog we head to the park for the reopening day of this indoor drop tower, along with capturing the full opening ceremony. The ride originally opened in 2012 and closed in 2015, with the building only opening as a temporary scare maze since that time. Join us as we ride and review this immersive experience, that builds up the story line behind The Phalanx!

Can’t quite believe it’s back! One of Alton Towers’ best choices in a long time because it’s such a good ride. Can’t wait to hopefully get on it in the next couple weeks!

Merlin has been on a roll recently with refurbishing old attractions with duel, nemesis, sub terra and derren browns all being redone and im all for it
It's nice to see Merlin doing more opening ceremonies from what we've seen, pity Alton Manor didn't get one but hey, can't remember the park had a reopening ceremony for any attraction at the park unless I'm forgetting about one?
I remember the old Nemesis shop. The blood red water in the pots and waterfalls. The blood red Nemesis branded cans of fizzy pop. We actually had the Nemesis canned drinks in the school vending machines 1992-1995!!! Insane brand work, getting it in to secondary schools!!! Back when it first opened, I'd never ridden a rollercoaster before - this must have been 1993 maybe? We queued about 5 hours in the baking hot sun to ride this thing in its first summer. Fantastic ride Nemesis, so glad it's been retained and updated! It's theming and integration in to the are was fantastic when it was new, so I'm looking forward to my daughter getting to experience something similar, as it's been pretty run down ever since she's been coming to the park ❤️❤️❤️
Woah.. 8 years is A LONG TIME for a ride attraction to be closed.... so glad it's back! I remember going on it 9 years ago... it was terrifying to me as a child SO EXCITED to ride it on July 17th going to alton towers for 3 days and nights you betcha imma be going on it every day atleast once or twice!

I went on this with my sister for the first time, if you have asd, or adhd, this might not be good for you. Its very emmersive, and sensory. Smoke, smells, things that touch you. I avoided the spike into my back, just lean forward. But the things on my feet... I screamed so much.
I find it really interesting that you also find the drop a lot larger than what it is as I when I rode back in 2012 almost felt it was around the same as Th13teens! Fantastic video as always guys, can't wait to ride again <3
Shawn, thank you for such a positive review. It's positivity like this which will help to keep subterra open long term. We rode it again today after having experienced it when originally opened and we loved it! Will definitely be going on it again in future visits this season 😀
Finally went on Nemesis Sub-terra. Sister absolutely loved it! The Nemesis track looks absolutely gorgeous btw - can't wait for you both to review when you're back from America!

I personally loved version one and when they added the scaremaze version I thought it was absolutely stunning ride. I seriously think it was underrated. Disappointed to hear they’ve dampened down the maze section. However I’m thrilled its back.
