This seems like a cool map with a ton of effort put into it, but it seems that they condensed too much story into a small amount of time. They probably should have taken their time with it more and spread out the story. Just went by too quick I guess.
Bad ending. You didn't solve the problem, you just joined a timeline where the problem didn't exist.
I mean but then you realise that the entire idea is trivial, because why the fuck should you care about a single timeline, when an infinite amount of timelines point in either extreme of Virus vs no Virus.
Bioshock Infinite has prepared me for this mind fuckery. Even printed out a fake Doctorates of Time-Space travel.
Also means there are an infinite amount of Lauras to bang ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

RecoverShield except, if we are accepting the idea of Multiple time lines, then there is literally nothing he could do.
Even if he exists outside the timeline, he still is getting fucked by it.
Well, it seemed like the timeline where the virus existed was destroyed, not just abandoned, so while he didn't fix the problem, he didn't really end up with a choice.
It depends how you look at it, in one way, going back in time rewrites history, but in another perspective, you're leaving a timeline that created you thus, leaving the problem behind.
Don't time travel- we saw what happened in Harry Potter!

wow this adventure map was pretty deep.
I really like the "take care of me okay?" part.
I don't know whether or not this was intentional, but the way it should be is the faster someone travels either through space, or in general, time becomes slower. Going as fast, or faster than the speed of light will likely not reverse time, going approximately the speed of light has been thought to make time nearly stop.
The thing is, if the concept implemented into this map was accurate, it wouldn't even work. Say for example, you succeed on obtaining speeds greater than light, and time reverses. You would likely just go back a few feet to when you were still going just under the speed of light, and then the time travel would cancel since you would no longer be going above the speed of light. Then when the time reversing stops, you retain the speed of light, and reverse time again. This would cause an infinite loop of eternal suffering. If by chance that the human body's aging affect is effected by this as well, you would have to go through this infinite loop util the end of time itself. You'd probably go insane long before this happens. So yea.
Also if one were to make a machine to stop the ultimate reason of making that machine, that would result in a time paradox. This would likely create a super massive black hole, and consume the universe.
Theoretically, objects can never travel faster than the speed of light. As they approach near light-speed, I am given to understand that the particles in said object become more and more energized, increasing the mass of the object exponentially. Once an object DOES hit the speed of light, its particles become infinitely heavy, somehow leading to a relatavistic effect. You cannot cross the threshold that is lightspeed simply because once you reach that threshold, time "stops." And, if time is stopped, than that means you are stuck occupyin the same moment in space/time, and cannot travel and faster or further. Idk, it's been a while since I read up on this stuff XD

Time Travel always makes me anxious af in every movie/video game/book involving Time Travel it seems that changing something for the good always screws over everything, and then I start panicking because I'm afraid that the protagonist won't be able to make things normal (I know very irrational to panic over a fictional story)
This map had one of the best stories I've ever seen, and even had correct English with punctuation. Props to him.
I'm about half way through the video and I just remembered the idea of time paradoxes and so if he does go and get rid of the outbreak it will not require that Laura become a doctor and so Matt will not come to be as no one will find the time crystals and thus Matt will cease to exist after he solves the outbreak. He won't get Laura in then end cause he won't exist
I knew it! But I guess it just created an alternate dimensions except he shouldn't exist but it makes sense
You're making alot of assumption here. You're assuming that Laura will not become a doctor after meeting Matt, even though she is picking up a clear passion for this stuff. You're also assuming that the Time Crystal is never found after Matt when back, even though there's no clear reason as to why not. But a paradox would occur if this is a dynamic timeline. And that's something that does not make sense for the maps sake. A paradox would occur regardless given that Matt is successful. So, given we know that the events of the future happen, then that would have to mean that Matt is unsuccessful.
well to be precise there are theories that state that if some one creates a paradox by changing their own time line, it wont change the time line just create a new one in which things have changed, its the basis for the multiverse theory.

Trenton Woodlock Well, yes. But this is clearly a dynamic timeline in the map. Which doesn't make much sense given there are multiple timelines. This inconsistency brings up alot more questions than it answers.
This whole thing seems like Matt has a bit of an Oedipus Complex.
There is a theory that time travel paradoxes are impossible because of the nature of time.
We like to think that time is in a single state like matter, your dead or alive, but science now knows about superpositions in matter. (States where particles are both one thing and another until observed) This means that time can also be a superposition, so by going back and stopping the virus, you wouldn't cause a paradox, time would just superposition between states of the virus existing and the virus not existing.
This fluctuation of states could have visual effects on the person who caused the super position (swapping in between worlds with and without the virus), it could do absolutely nothing and allow you to live in a virus free world even though you shouldn't exist, or it could manifest as another "timeline" so now 2 separate worlds exist with their own endings.
A superposition of time kinda just makes sense, time is just a medium in which things happen, so it can't "break"

The map feels a little too rushed if it had been slowed down and took more time to extend the story it probably would have had more of an impact. Things just happened to quickly in my opinion. Although its not bad haha

Laura named you Matt because she remembers you and named you after you and it is an infinite cycle, she remembers and remakes over again until you break the cycle
The thing with time travel is though, if you ever went back to change anything so the future you came from didn't happen or became different, there would have been no need for you to go back in time in the first place, therefore you never went back in time, so in turn that altered future couldn't have happened, meaning you'd need to go back in time to change it, but the cycle will always repeat itself. Thus, time travel would always result in a paradox.

I like this map mainly because of the concept of time travel, about somehow there is a way to change all of the bad mistakes in the world and who knows maybe there was a zombie apocalypse in a different time, we'll never know.

OK this map is a perfect example of the grandfather effect. If he saves the world there is no need for him to be created, if he is not created then there is no one who goes back and saves the world hence causing the apocalypse so he would need to be created and then it turns into a cycle.
But if you stop this from happening, then you never would've had a reason to travel back in time in the first place, so you wouldn't be able to stop it, so then it would've happened. So this is a paradox I guess.

I thought it was going to be something like while trying to dispose of the virus Matt accidentally caused it to spread which caused Laura to make him in order to stop the virus which caused him to accidentally spread the virus and avoid all paradoxes and having a hopeless loop where the world couldn't be saved.
But that was a sweet ending anyway so meh
I think you need to do this one over to find those easter eggs..

The creator of this map should make a part 2 because this map doesn't have an ending that suits the story line, a love story should have Matt meeting Dr. Lauren back in the future and her thanking him and falling for him after he saves her life in part 2! Map creator make it happen!

technically he caused a paradox when he goes back and stops the virus that means that the virus didn't cause a problem so that means that he would never have gone back to stop the virus but by doing that that means that he has to repeat that process again
