We had chance to test ride this KTM electric dirt bikes! First it was kind of wierd because it's noiseless but after when you forget that it felt just like a normal dirt bike!
If i had the money i would buy one of these and ride it on sundays :D

People say they hate electric because it lacks the noise of an internal combustion engine.....but when you’re trail riding isn’t it kind of nice to hear nature around you, and hear your riding buddies without needing a comm??

Pa here urban areas everything is illegal and very costly. I can hear a bike like my cr 2 miles away on a quiet day easy. The ghost rider and from no places to ride to riding everywhere covert

most off them have never ride one ...me also :-) so i am still in love with my Aprilia tuono v4r ... but for town Ebike is definetely an option!!!
honk monk In an ideal world, I would have an electric bike for local riding and a Street Triple for longer rides.
+GORGICHEV MEDIA it's all down to personal preference I guess. I like to ride hard for hours and hours, so an electric bike would go dead on me. But for riders who do short rides, one of these would be perfect. I think an electric trials bike would be great because of the instant torque you mentioned, just not the bike for me. :D

the ultra quiet, stealth mode aspect of electric bikes is one of the best things. you don't piss off the neighbors, and can ride anywhere without getting busted by your engine sound giving you away. the instant power from the get go is another. no waiting to hit the power band rpm, because it's all power band. the short range, and crazy price are the only downsides i can see.

Just think of all the places you could go with this Bike, without anyone knowing! Noise is fun, but riding with no one hearing you is just great!
They look fun and fast but for $15,000 it's a no for me maybe sometime on the future. I'll stick to normal dirt bikes for now plus I enjoy the sound.
I think these are awesome for riding in woods, where you are not allowed to be loud

Some guys in the comments just miss the point what this bike was designed for.
It is not the idea to replace mx bikes, it is a Freeride to have fun and ride and play silently in secret places without annoying other people.
One mx track after the other is shut down here in Germany, mainly because of noise issues, so for many people this kind of bikes will be the only solution to keep on riding. Perhaps some of those who just call this “gay” will understand the sence of this as soon as their governments come to their tracks.
Also I guess most of the people who disliked never even tried this thing out by themselves.
Exactly - just think of all the tracks we could have in or near town if electric MX was more of an option.

I'm all for electric bikes, wouldn't have to buy gas all the time, and would be allowed to ride in more locations because most people just dont like the sound of the bikes. I think once they get these things in production for a few years and tweak them they'll be awesome.
In five to ten years, the electric engines will be way more powerful and will probably last way longer competing with combustion engines. But at the moment it's kind of a "toy", but its cool seeing the tech evolv.
Trespassing and riding on illegal trails just got a whole lot easier

It is easy to do wheelies cause the electric and combustion motor have some major diferences, on electric motors you throw energy at it and it goes all the way, on the combustion motors you have some sort of delay, the combustion happens to generate mechanical energy, sorry for the awful explanation but english is not my mother language and i have no idea how to explain technical concepts xD.
But for those who are interested, electric motors are awesome, truly awesome. (I'm a 2 stroke fan but as an engineer i had to admit xD)

I always thought mastering the technical skills of riding was the fun part, and the noise the inconvenient side effect. No one is going to take your smokers and you can bet your ass they will keep making them for years to come. This isnt the death of anything, just newer, better tech.

If you’re pissed because he was making the noise in the beginning he was just messing around and making the noise that it lacks as a joke for like 15 to 20 seconds the rest is just riding and casual talk besides like 1 maybe 2 other times and there is no need to go “could barley make it past the first part he’s so annoying” while you sip a tea cup of your dads piss.
