What happens when you installed a new motor and it runs jerky and very noisily? What happens when it is going in reverse instead? Watch this video for some tips on how to pair the motor to the controller...
Whether you are changing to a new motor or upgrading your motor on your scooter, you may need to configure the controller to the motor. A word of caution: not all motors require such configuration! Only high speed motors and high discharge controllers typically do like those in our links below...
Every motor comes with at least 3 main wires called phase wires which are the main wires that carry the current that drives the motor. The phase wires need to be configured carefully to the motor so that the motor is able to drive smoothly and in the right direction.
The pairing process is a process of trial and error as we have shown here requiring at most 6 combinations. However, once configured, you wouldn't have to bother with it anymore.

there needs to be more videos like this since alot of people need this type of help, much respect for you my friend🙏
Thanks for the feedback!
THANK YOU SO MUCH IT WORKED! you are the only person on the internet that explains a proper fix. subscribed
Videos like this are so helpful! Thanks!
Thank you!
you're the best! combination #4 was the one for me. i'm using a bldc driver that's designed for CNC spindle motors (which i'll eventually put into a waterproof enclosure), so i wasn't sure if the loud rattling was because it was the wrong type of driver, but you made it easy!
Thank you good sir. I'd tried swapping phase wires in all the combinations as other guides show, but your info on the hall wires was the piece of info I was missing. Got it all working now 👍😃
Thank you glad we could help!
Swapped 10x controllers into 8x. Front wheel turns backwards,Tried all combo s ,only one work but it overheated and burned the wiring. Tries the hall sensor swap but still running backwards
Thank you. This solved my problem. Interestingly my motor worked with only two leads connected?
Holy fracking cow...dude thanks alot one of the combos made my motor run butter smooth....thanks alot¡!!!!!!!
fixed my 72v 60amp setup with the swaping of the two hall sensor wires, though it was a different phaze wiring combination for me.it still worked so thanks for that 🤘
Good stuff! let us know what other ideas you have
This information is hard to come by, thank you for your help.
Thanks for watching
Great explanation 👌 thank you
THANK YOU SO MUCH 👌👌👌
well explained
Thanks alot for the video I am going to try this with my motor tomorrow . I am sure this will be the fix. Thanks man!
Let us know how it goes. It’s not always the case where the phase wires are the issue
@@FalconpevSg this wasn’t the fix, i think it is something with the hall sensor because the motor acts the same way when the hall senor is plugged in and when it is plugged out. Thanks for the reply
I loved your video, I still couldn't solve my problem but I still haven't touched the hall connection I'll check. however I am using a controller for 60v with a 60v battery also in a 48v motor I don't know if this is the problem, because they said that the voltage was not a problem. that's true? thanks
Man you are a LEGEND in 2023 you help me resolve the issue with my 60v Currus Panther as it wasn’t running smoothly so many Thanks Man and I left a like too😎
☺️ I'm one happy man 😁 I've been working on scooter for like a week now and the other thing was the wheel wasn't moving now I've seen your video it working now 😁😁👏👏
Thanks you so much 👍🍻
Nice job..thank you
Thanks bro, combination one worked for me
Thank you for this video got it first combo.
glad it helped!
yooooO!!!!! you saved me man! So I bought a new controller which didnt have a "learning feature" (thats how my chinese seller call it) - my wheel was spinnning in the different direction. Combination 4th worked! thank you so much for your work! god bless you brother
Pls do help share
Only video I could find with the same problem, mine ended up being that one on the blue wires was broken off , fixed it and back running. Thank you !!
Wow the whole tube and only our video could help you solve it?
It worked for mine! Thank you! It was so noisy before, now it's silently normal! But the top speed got lessened. Any ideas why?
Thank you for this video.
I’m glad it helped someone
Excellent, fixed it . thank you very much.
@FalconpevSg - does this work on a zero 9?
where do find these cables?
thank you in advance
Could you do a video how to change rear lights on Zero 11x? ja have issues, only 2 working and one of then its very week
This guy is awesome it works you Just have to be Patience
The second to last combo worked but the motor is running backwards. You show switching the hall wires when the wires are normal but how about when using the Blue-Yellow, Yellow-Green, and Green-Blue combo?
I have electric scooter i replaced controller but I don't know how to fix the dc to dc converter for light, horn, indicator brake light also no display on meter need help..
I have an soflow s06 with a custom controller, i have error e7, but its running and i think smoothly, i think the blue wire from the controller is loose than the otherones, i think it snapped of the controller, can u help me ?
Hi everyone. I got a jerky motor after a motor cable replacement, and none of these combinations seemed to work. What could be wrong? I need some answers as this is frustrating. Thanks!
My sealup q7 jerks when in gear 2 and 3. What is the solution? Can you help me please
Hey FALCON guys, would be great if you do a video showing how to invert motor turn sense, useful for example when user wants to install brakes at the other side from original setup, thanks!
Nice troubleshooting video, but honestly if I had this problem on what I am assuming would be a new scooter. I would promptly return it and exchange for one that is properly wired.
This is actually more for upgrades of motor that we sell. You can actually get a stronger drive system and you need to do this to configure your high speed motor.
@@FalconpevSg i see, that makes more sense.
Hi sir mine is yyk 80a and my motor is 52v dual phase how can i remove the vibration when i first star my bike thank you for the answer
Adjust your settings 80A might be too powerful.
My motor hub was working for 3 days and now won't move at all its a bafrang hub peddal assist just looking for answers why this has happened
is the jerky or noisy problem normally shows up after some time of use? I didn't do upgrades so should I still try to change the combination when I got jerky motors after 1 year of use? Hoping for your reply, pls.
no, this problem will arise when you change the motor. when you get jerkiness after one year of use, it is most likely due to wear and tear of the bearings
I have the same fault i believe , my front wheel motor just sputters like its in a lock state or something it doesnt want to run smoothly like before i dont know what happen , only after i dismantled the bike and then put all back together that fault showed up .. im gonna try like you did in this video ,, and also when i disconnect the ble wire from the blue wire in the air without no loae it spins smoothly and fast , but when i put the tires on the floor with load it sputters and doesnt spin
Omg,, thanks bro,, u awesome,,already subscribe ur channel.. tq
Is this applicable to any brand or unit of electric scooter?
Will this work on and scooter or just the 10x
any scooter
@@FalconpevSg thanks so much. So my motor is working but at times there is almost like a grinding sound then it goes away would this work for something like that or just if my motor isn’t working ? Thanks again for your time
i got a new controller and i wired it up by derault coloring and it started to jerk and rattle ... so i swapped the green and blue and now it works ... but does it affect the performance of motor?
Nope it’s the way it’s supposed to be. The controllers and motor wiring do not always have to be matched color for color
@@FalconpevSg and now i swaped the blue and green should i swap them in hall sensors too?
maybe theres more easer way to get it smooth/reverse? ie. opening motor lid and checking wiring there?
This is the easiest way tbh
Hello falcon , my e scooter can't run itself without pushing forward , what can i do to fix it?

Hey my kaabo mantis 10 pro is droping power on and off when i accelerate, the battery seems ok i keeps charge can you suggest what may be the issue?
It’s battery issue. Your battery is Aging
its okay if 2 face wire only? my motor perfect work when i remove yellow face wire
The 2 phases may not be enough, have you tried riding on it?
been almost 2 months trying to figure out what happened and this was it, just unbelievable how simple it was, first phase wire change i did the motor worked fine i feel so dumb.
I have janobike t85 2800wX2 today rear motor started to make burly sound and stopped working please help
1. Check the motor wires are not melted or burnt
2. Check if there is any resistance in the motor
Hi !! I just but Wolf King and everything is work good and after 20km the rear motor stop working and begin to bloc and jerking like in this vidéo?? Need help
Something melted or burnt. Possible reasons: burnt hall sensor inside motor but unlikely. Burnt mosfet inside controller most likely
@@FalconpevSg thanks i will return tje scooter i tink
@@davidworrall3653 we would recommend a VSETT instead
what is a vset instead?
okok the brand off a scooter perfect
Can u do a video for a Q30 I have the same problem I only had the scooter for one day

@@FalconpevSg dude I didn't ask u to do a video I only ask did they they have a video out on the brand of scooter but your rude ass can have a good day oh get you family to tell u have a good day
Why would my wires melt and the motor give out? Lose connection??? And would this help if I tried? It was working fine the entire summer... 😔
Resistance causes that. Can be cause by connections that loosen up over time or corrosion between the connections. This wouldn't fix that.
What can fix this??? New computer???
@@MarvelousYoUnAstro just new connectors
I'll try that and see... thanks brother!
Than you
My controller gets very hot 🔥 and motor not running smoothly..

What to do when the engine is running but when I step on it it looses power going from 25km to 8km/h?
What do you mean step on it
@@FalconpevSg as soon as I put my full body weight and try to ride. I don't exceed 80kg, it says up to 100.
Can't you short the hub by changing wires like that?
No you won’t, you will only short it if you connect both wires of the same phase together
My ebike motor make vibration when i reach at 25km/h what is the solution?
Check tires, check motor balancing and then check wire connection
Hello I have a Zero 11x and motors don't drive forward when using throttle, it very jerky and needs to be pushed to accelerate in the right direction, thoughts?
Controller burn
@@FalconpevSg it is brand new out of the box? Have only moved it few km, but was like this first ride
@@aidenhill17 although the 11X motors are what we call sensorless, meaning they will be more jerky than motors with sensors, it shouldn’t be so jerky that you feel it. Where did you get it from
@@FalconpevSg I got it from IwheelEUstore on Ali express, I have already emailed them but no answer yet, wanted to ask your opinion, if I am on scooter and I try to accelerate, it will not go forward for 1 second it will jerk a bit backwards then start moving forward, really dangerous in traffic, only when I push with my foot does it go smoothly
Is this only for this scooter
For any scooter
@@FalconpevSg so this is why the M code is showing
I dont recommend to swap by place the PHASE wires. The wires on the load are geting hot at the connection piont and in cases starting to melt. The result can be a short in wires. (TESTED). In ignoring the wire melt - the controller at the same time is geting realy hot and in my test case it did automaticly switched off (protection). It was the ZHIPU controller wich are good made.
Its the Mosfet fault - wich needs to be changed.
We use special connectors which can withstand up to 200A of over current
@@FalconpevSg The wires are getting hot and the orginal connection is the weakest point. Ok - you swap the connections, but still use the same wires. And if you have upgrated connections - you think the video excited viewers will?

@@FalconpevSg hi, so progress! the 3rd colour combo works..but.. the wheel only spins great at full power for 2 secs then stops.., i have the controller setup on bench with the wheel on a spare scooter frame upside down locked into the forks so i can see it spin .the controllers set to push start so i have to spin wheel by hand then press the throttle to see if it spins lol.. so i spin wheel and hit the throttle ..the wheel spins perfect for 2 secs then stops/cuts off.. is the wheel in reverse and its cutting off for safty?? also that final thing you did with the reverse signal wires.. do i need todo that as a last step so it spins other way and will be good?
@@FalconpevSg also may i ask, when the motor does start spinning again and working.. do i return the wires back to their nowmal colours or leave them in that colour combo that works?
