  • Ep 10 | Why We Won't Sing Bethel Music in Our Church | Redeeming Truth
Is it wrong to sing songs from Bethel if they are theologically correct?
In this episode of #RedeemingTruth, Pastors Costi Hinn, Dale Thackrah, and Kyle Swanson provide insight into the dangers of supporting ministries like Bethel, that have a false understanding of who Christ is.

Before watching this video I was basically obsessed with bethel, elevation worship, Jesus culture,Hillsong among many others. Thank you for opening my eyes to what the world really is.

Im surprised there is no comments on here except a negative one. Pastor Costi Hinn, thank you for your ministry and for preaching the truth of these blasphemous churches. Its funny how people always bash Christians for being "intellectual". Christ is the Word. Knowing his Word is and rightly dividing the word of truth only leads you closer to Christ.

The power of music to appeal to the emotions is how these movements take root. Emotions that music creates can often feel related to the movement of the Holy Spirit in an individual. But this is were emotional deception occurs. For the Gospel to work, the first thing the spirit of God reveals is a conviction of sin, and a desire to receive God's forgiveness. The topic of sin and repentance is typically missing from Hillsong, Bethel, Etc... Focusing only on the love of God, and my own feelings, and my own faith is not the full gospel message.

I live in Austin, Tx and been struggling to find a church that follows jesus. Most of them are denominations and they are so into bethel music. Im not there to listen to music and be entertained. I want to go there to learn the bible and jesus word. They literally sing for half the service, have thousand open thousands of dollars in instruments, sound equipment , lights, sound mixers. Its like a concert in there. Not to mention their million dollars buildings

I am a sincere question. We approached our leadership (my husband is an elder) with these concerns. We were respectful and not hateful. We were met with "if the song is theologically correct, then it does not matter what church it came from", "if we are throwing out those songs then we'll have to spend a lot of time figuring out what the background of every song is". Also we were met with disrespect and almost mocked for bringing it to their attention. How would you approach this?
Thank you so for your time.

Thank you for this video. This is something I have been spending a lot of time on studying recently and I appreciate your concise verdict and your reasons for taking this stance. Very helpful!

I feel so sorry for you all! Will be praying for you! The good thing - you can not stop these movements! The proof is in the pudding! These ministers are impacting the world for Christ! You all are wasting your time in futile intellectual nonsense
