U need to react to planes and planes fire and rescue by Pixar great movies keep up the great work
Can't wait to see what you think of it.
YAY
@@TRIGGER49Great recommendations!
I’m so glad you got to react to this movie! It shows great color and beauty in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
What’s next on your bucket list should definitely be whatever other Blue Sky Studio movies you can find, including:
- Rio 2
- Ice Age: Collision Course
- The Peanuts Movie
- Ferdinand
- Spies In Disguise
This is still one of the most beautiful and vibrant movies I've ever seen with some pretty great songs. Plus, I love that it raised awareness of a real life extremely endangered parrot, the Spix's macaw, of which only around 160 individuals remain, and are only just now being released back into the wild.
yeah i thought they went extinct
@@0retro0in the wild they are sadly. But they keep breeding in captivity
@@CervusLavandulanot true. This year they have been releasing them into the wild again, and recently two of the released birds successfully hatched two chicks in the wild on their own which is huge
@@mpfishing5530 true.
They did go extinct in the wild though. These were bred in captivity and released recently.
@@CervusLavandula the original birds were bred in captivity, but the chicks were hatched in the wild
Fun fact: Neil Patrick Harris was considered to play Blu in the movie, but he had other commitments outside production. So Carlos Saldanha decided approach to Jesse Eisenberg and asked him if he would do his very first voice recording on the weekend while he was filming The Social Network. And he gladly agreed after reading the script. I was surprised that he's never done doing animated films before. Also, he and Anne Hathaway originally DID work together in the TV show called Get Real as they played siblings when they're younger. At time, she didn't see Eisenberg during production of Rio. Or he hasn't never met other actors until they'd all met at the premiere.
Eisenberg even stated that while working double duty for The Social Network and Rio, he considered the latter the antidote to his near-joyless character in the former.
I think Rio is right up there with the original Ice Age as Blue Sky Studios' best movies. It's fun, energetic, got a perfect voice cast, and fantastic music (the songs are catchy to be sure, but the score by John Powell is - as always with this mad man - magical).
And The Peanuts Movie….
The jumpscare at 12:47 made me laugh so hard omg, literal tears at how hard he recoiled 😂
This movie was my grandmother’s favorite animated film. It reminds me of her.❤
Also fun fact: the voice of Nigel, Jemaine Clement, is the same actor for Tamatoa in Moana.
Not to mention Jemaine Clement is playing the voice of one of the Minions of Despicable Me.
I like the Ice Age franchise (most of it anyway), but Rio is just really good and I feel that it doesn’t get enough love and appreciation. It’s lively, colorful, the characters are very entertaining, and the music…hits hard! Really glad that you got into this film, Nick and thank you for sharing your reaction to it, really enjoyed it.😌🙂
Mr. Saldanha sure presented a film that really reverberates all around with the joys of Rio.
Really enjoy Rio as a kid and still do! Once again, RIP to Blue Sky Studios.
For real though.
I love this movie; it’s so colorful and I was OBSESSED with the soundtrack back when it came out. I listened to it all so much though that I don’t love it AS MUCH but it’s still a great soundtrack. There’s something about the visuals and the music that just gets inside your soul! Hope you eventually check out the second movie.
To me, the soundtrack still holds up and I still love it as much when I was younger!!!
I love how you seem to experience every movie with a sense of wonder.😊
In my opinion, this is probably one of the most beautiful and best non-Disney animated films. Also, Blu is just adorable! 🥹🥹🥹🩵🩵🩵💙💙💙
Sometimes I wish I saw “Rio” back when it was in theaters cause when I first watched it after it came out on home media, it was so damn good that I regret not watching it in theaters.
This is the most jump scares I've seen with you and I gotta admit it was hilarious xD;;;;
Oh I loved it when I saw Rio for the first time, fantastic the wonders and nature in Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil are beautiful.. and my absolute fav moment is when Blu, despite his fear of flying, throws himself for Jewel: "I'm not gonna let you go, we're chained to each other birds, remember?", aw my heart, his love for Jewel, stronger than his fear, was what prompted him to be able to fly..
Really the macaws and birds are awesome creatures
I love this film, the visuals are beautiful, especially for 2011, the music is incredible and the love story is adorable. I remember when I was younger and I watched it for the first time I liked it so much I literally watched it like every day for a week.
12:47 lol loved loved the reaction. Nigel is a very good villain. Scary with crazy dramatic behavior.
This movie was very beautiful and great cast.
I like to think the “(not Rio)” thing was like a “it doesn’t matter where they are now, they’re not where they’re meant to be”
This is perfect timing because the blue bird “Rio” is actually finally returning to the wild after being on the edge of extinction!
Spix Macaws are beautiful and so is the message of this movie; I really do hope these birds make it in real time.
12:47 the way you jumped at that part 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Blue is a great character.
AH IM SO HAPPY YOU'VE NOW WATCHED RIO!! Rio is one of my favorite movies of all time, the music, the story, the vibrant colors, everything about it makes me always so happy! So I'm so Happy you enjoyed it too
This week has been really really hard for me, been sick since Sunday and my mental health is nose diving, but waking up from resting to see a new video from you these past few days has been so great. I don't have to search at all for something to watch while I attempt to eat something. Your reactions never fail to make me feel happy and I thank you so so much for sharing your reactions with us. It's always a bright light in the midsts of a depression episode.
I'm so sorry you're experiencing that and I hope you get better soon. Stay strong; you got this! 👏👏👏💛💛💛
I swear I just got Mandela Effect or maybe I just don't remember right, but I remember Nick watching Rio WAY before this what the heck
Love that you watched this, I was honestly taken back a bit by your reaction to the kid’s living space, because when I watched this movie I just remember appreciating how similar the roofing and living situation was to what I saw while living in Central America as a kid. It is truly sad how many kids fall to the wayside and wind up in some form of organized crime searching for a family and a way out of poverty. So happy they imply that Tulio and Linda seemingly adopt him, as they go on to rescue more animals. Such a fun movie with a lot of great songs and unexpected heart, thanks for giving it a watch!
48:13 Their costumes look almost exactly like Blu and Jewel.
Fun fact: this movie is what led to Disney's first ever canceled movie.
They were going to make a similar film regarding newts, but when Rio came out first, they canceled it, not wanting people to think they stole from Rio.
Wow that's the most interesting fact I've ever heard!!! What was Disney's first ever cancelled Movie?
@@alexglass2927it was literally called Newt
🥰I love watching Rio so much🥰
19:20 you keep jumping! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
This movie reaction is so fun. Because I am Brazilian myself.
I love when Jules says that “Bobo” 😂here can’t fly. Because calling someone bobo is basically like saying that they’re a goofball.
12:46 Ouuuu get it Nick with that dodge u gave to Nigel through the screen😂😂😭❤️
I absolutely love Rio, to me this, along with the first two Ice Age movies are the absolute best Blue Sky Studios movies! The vibrant colours and songs are all so good!
Loved seeing your reaction to this Nick!
Jessie Eisenberg did a good job in this movie
Yup, Mark Zuckerberg and Columbus is really great as Blu.
@@miguelalonso9460 Yup
This movie was my childhood 😊 I remember seeing the 4D version of it, it was so fun 😁
Whoa, that sounds so cool! 😍😍😍💙💙💙
Still my favorite Blue Sky Studios movie of all time
So excited to see this reaction, rio is one of my favorite animated movies 😊
Thank you for finally seeing this movie and I'm looking forward to your reaction for Rio 2.
Also Jesse Eisenberg was perfect as Blu.
i watched in 2011 and now where 13 yrs later its still so adorable
Rio is STILL my favorite movie. My dad and I used to rent movie discs when I was 7 and Rio just came out so we gave it a try. We never returned it after and I just kept watching it lol!
12:46: That reaction was priceless 😂
Love how long you made this reacting Nick!!!
Fun fact: Tulio's voice actor (Rodrigo Santoro) also voices him in Portuguese!
Yesssssss so glad you are posting regularly again Nick.
Thanks for the reaction
I loved this film as a kid!
My most favorite western animated film of all time. It formed my childhood
Im so happy you're reacting to Rio its such a beautiful and one of my favorite movies, you have to watch the second one too
1:38 Nick's scares are the best thing ever
This is my favorite animation movie, it’s so emotional and fun! I’m glad that you’re watching ❤️
I loved this movie, the music was great, the movie ws so vibrant, everything my childhood loved, loved the reaction Nick👍
Funfact: Spix macaws are real birds actually extint on nature.
Few interesting mistakes:
-Linda gives cocoa and chocolatecip cookies, wich are really dangerous to birds.
-Linda put sunscreen on Blu's beak, even to, birds beaks can't burn.
-Blu said that: He picks his beak and pees on the bird bath, even to birds can't do these things.
Will you be doing Rio 2 in the future sometime Nick?
HELL YEAH! Love Rio!
The best part of this movie is the song “I Wanna Party”. It did not have to go so hard 💯
1:41 😔yeah, It's the sad reality to be an exotic bird: being the target of despicable people with an insatiable appetite for money.
I love this reaction already, your doing great, Nick
Bro where did nick go 12:46 😂😂😂
I'm glad you watched this movie! It's one of my top fav in my childhood!
I love this movie so much! It is visually stunning and the music and story are so much fun!
Hi, Nick! 👋 Hope your strep throat is gone and that you’re all better now.
A great movie in my opinion also my favorite characters from this movie are Jewel and Nico 💕
I love this film Rio and I Love the beginning of the movie in Río de Janeiro Brasil and the Music samba. Thank you Nick🙂
I loved your reaction, and can talk about another kind of "reaction" to this movie, on my experience. The reaction of an actual Brazilian bird:
As someone who, like Linda, also got a bird partner (my Konori - a golden conure, another strictly Brazilian bird - he's in my profile picture, and will probably recognize his species on the movie sometimes), it's a dream come true to see your bird truly happy. Linda actually represents us, bird owners, very well in this aspect (except for the chocolate part, it's very toxic to birds).
The Blue Sky animators actually had to come here and watch our fauna to make this movie, and did an excelent job, because (like in The Lion King) even the real life animals themselves can understand what is happening by the characters' body language. This is one of my favorite movies, but also Konori's (he watches it very attentively, hates Nigel with every feather in his body and will try to attack him every time he appears on the screen. Doesn't love Raphael either - toucans actually are predators to all kinds of parrots and macaws, so... understandable -. He also gets a little frustrated with Pedro sometimes, I wonder why...).
Konori also loves to answer the songs. If you hear carefully, you'll find all kinds of bird calls on Rio's songs, including the golden conure's call, the one Konori understands and answers to.
This is also a wonderful movie to discuss about the danger these birds deal with every day. The spix is a VERY endangered species, but many others on this movie are also on that list (including the golden conure. To have Konori, I had to get a very special permission from our authorities, who will hunt animal trafficants to the end of the world). Here in Brazil, if you traffic or kill a macaw, for example, you'll be in prision for longer than if you kill a person. We take this law very seriously.
I hope to see you reacting to Rio 2 soon.
Bro this one my favorite Blu Sky Studio Movies! Characters, soundtracks, the animation soooooo good
I love your energy!!! keep going man! 😁
Nigel reminds me of El Diablo. Both are just pets, yet are the main antagonists.
I'm just glad to see uploading more often again, I missed you over the past few weeks, I love you man, peace, love, and respect to ya man.💕🔥✨👍✌️😎
30:53 see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil
Love your reactions!
Interesting to note: The voice of young Linda is voiced by director Carlos Saldanha’s own daughter Sofia. Likewise Mr. Saldanha voiced the waiter serving Linda and Tulio at the Rio restaurant.
And on a side note, the rotund smuggler Tipa is voiced by Jeff Garcia (aka Sheen) of Jimmy Neutron fame.
Please dont apologize for talking. You're a reactor. I follow you because i enjoy watching movies with your childlike wonder
I really like this one, the music is so good and the story is so sweet 😊 not my favourite of the blue sky movies but it is a good watch
I'm pretty sure they gave Blu an alternative. Dogs can't eat chocolate, but they CAN eat cacao.
The music in this movie is sooooo good. I hope you've been doing great, Nick!
I’ll be honest, I really don’t like Nigel, but I actually do understand him in a way. His backstory isn’t talked about much, but from what he says in his song, I can understand why he would be so evil and help bird smugglers. He had everything he ever wanted as an actor bird, but then he was replaced with another, prettier bird and lost everything. And as someone who experienced having the life of your dreams and then having it taken when your father replaces you and your family with another woman, his anger and hatred is something I can understand. I don’t support him taking it out on other animals who had nothing to do with what happened to him, but I can understand his hate for “prettier birds”.
Feel free to check out Stuart little 2 and Rio 2 next week.
One of my favorite movie! Can’t wait to see you watching the sequel! 🖤
Both Rio movies has a important message about animal trafficking and species in danger of extinction, especially the second movie.
It's time to party with rio
OMG I LOVE RIO AAAA
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie and I'll be looking forward to see the sequel and Despicable Me M3 tomorrow night!!!!
This was one of my favorite movies in my teens and always played the soundtrack for it. Along with happy feet.
I love this movie, it make me feel like I'm in Brazil. Please watch also the second one
this was a good movie, better than ice age
my family and i really love watching your reactions
your laughs are funny 🥰
I love Blu and Jewel’s love story ❤
Bring on the samba from Brazil 🇧🇷
No intro is fine! I was not expecting this already! I’m HERE FOR IT! Just give me a few , I have a paper I need to submit😅
I have an inordinate love for this film ❤️🔥 thank you for watching it
This movie always makes me think of the movie Paulie. Good movie.
A Blue Sky film that proved to be successful as fellow film Ice Age! Rio is a love letter to Brazil thanks to director Carlos Saldanha.
47:55 my favorite part
I remember seeing this and the sequel in theaters! However, we saw them in 3D and I didn't think it looked that great, even as a kid. Still, definitely a cute movie; the way the visuals accentuate the lands and culture of Rio is amazing and hands-down the best part of the movie!! It's pretty similar to Encanto in that sense. Overall, though, it's not my favorite Blue Sky movie; that would have to go to either Robots or Nimona.
Never seen the first film on the big screen, unfortunately. But I did see the sequel in 3D and I loved it!
@SpacialRend7 For me, the 3D just really didn't stand out to me, like I almost couldn't tell it was 3D. There were really only a few shots where it felt like the 3D was actually utilized 😅
I wish Blue Sky Studios comes back some other day maybe if they want to bring it back

Awwww I love Rio i hope you watch Rio 2
My ONE AND ONLY “Problem” with Rio is the naming. I think just Blu would Sound better since Rio didn’t fit so well to me. BUT HEY! They was my fav movie when I was younger and still is!! I was just TWO when it came out, almost 3. I remember when I saw the I WANNA PARTY scene, it made me feel weird like I was EATING METAL for some reason, even thinking about it makes me feel that way now!
I would turn 3 in JUST 8 DAYS.
