The game is set in the fictional Hope County, Montana, where a preacher named Joseph Seed has risen to prominence. Seed believes that he has been chosen to protect the people of Hope County from an "inevitable collapse" and has established a congregation called Eden's Gate. Ostensibly, this is to fulfill his mission of leading the people to salvation; in reality, Seed is a radical preacher and Eden's Gate is a militaristic doomsday cult. Under his rule, Eden's Gate has used both coercion and violence to forcibly convert the residents of Hope County, and intimidation to keep them from contacting the outside world for help. When an attempt to arrest Seed ends with the deaths of several lawmen, the player is swept into the armed conflict between Eden's Gate and the remaining Hope County residents, who are organizing themselves into a resistance movement.
As always we used relevant gameplay, important dialogue and all cutscenes to create a fluid cinematic experience. There are a lot of filler "story missions" in this game, which I omitted to make sure it didn't get too repetitive. Not that it wasn't fun. But for a viewing experience, a lot of the story missions didn't push the story forward in a relevant way.

Han Hattori Hanzo well you see, in real life people don’t take on armies with one man(the deputy put in most of the work). Especially no cop or sheriff or deputy or any other man of law. They either die, or lock the city down and tase and pepper spray the wrong black guy while telling him to stop resisting. Whoever cleared them for this mission was a real dumbass. They’re seriously understaffed. And they knew that from the beginning.
because while See'ds cult is still strong, there's no telling how many people will die while Deputy is away, not to mention there's no guarantee the plane will have enough fuel.

Just wanna say I really appreciate this channel. Not only do you present the cutscenes and all the gameplay necessary to the plot, you seem to go out of your way to make the gameplay itself as entertaining as possible. It keeps that constant cinematic type of feeling throughout. Like, mega kudos

Might've been the only time I actually felt a little bad for Joseph, and for what I did to him. But then I thought to myself, "Hey, even psychopaths cry, but only for themselves." mmmm, kind of. People with aspd see those close to them as extensions of themselves, and rank them by what these "other arms" can do for them or bring to them. I'm married to someone with it and he will cry if something happens to me but only really because he sees me as a part of himself. So sure, Joseph may be crying because something of his was taken, but it's not totally selfish. Their brains are just fundamentally different from our own. I think Joseph is incredibly sympathetic, personally.

I’ve always occasionally watched your channel for years, and honestly you really have perfected the amount of mostly footage to gameplay, as gameplay does provide much story and to actually see the game in action (how we’ll end up seeing it) versus ONLY cutscenes is a big plus

Honestly did not expect that ending, confusing as it was. I’m hoping that if you complete everything in the game 100% you’ll get a non apocalyptic ending rather than this ending.
There’s a better good ending if you don’t resist him in the last level then your friends go free and you leave to go get the national guard. And the bombs don’t drop as you leave. I highly doubt that the Apocalypse came. You can be told that a local flood can be a global one and believe it. Beats me why this area was nuked but holy shit. Literally.
On the drive to the final boss you can hear on the radio that Korea launched missile and that the states were under lockdown. Not only that, on the drive to the bunker you can see and hear multiple bombs falling. Also, in a sense, the whole game is a metaphorical retelling of Revelation. There's a Reddit post explaining everything. Games don't have to forcefeed you a story, the subtle route that takes thinking is better.
