From listening to his interviews around the topic, it really seems like pimping was never something he had completely positive feelings about doing. It strikes me that for him there's a personal level of distaste towards it even, as if he attached some secret shame to it but still did it because it was what he knew how to do at the time. It was sad to both see him triggered in the clip and then not be able to acknowledge the fact. There is quite likely some underlying trauma surfacing here (as well as in other interviews) that has nothing to do with Masika's disinteterest in Baddies. I think not only did he get upset that she brought up pimping but also because her analogy was completely appropriate and he himself immediately realized as much.
