Take Me Out, Cover (Original by Young Summer/Franz Ferdinand)

This is Franz Ferdinand’s classic Take Me Out as reimagined by Young Summer, except I threw in some electric guitars.
Looking For Alaska (aka my favourite book of all time) has recently been turned into a miniseries and it’s got a phenomenal soundtrack, so naturally I had to try my hand at it! Who knew Take Me Out could be so full of melancholy? (It’s tons of fun to sing anyway.) The video used to show some scenes of the show, but that got taken down because of a copyright claim... OOPS.

I play ukulele and was always jokingly playing it heavy like the original. When I heard this in Looking For Alaska (agreed- the book is superb), I was so inspired to put it back in my active cache of songs to practice. You’re right- it’s so dreamy and quietly screams of hopelessness. Beautiful job!
