Dang Randy. Your knocking them out. That looks very tasty for sure. Was hoping at the end you saved some and put a little on wood Keep up the hard work ok
Once I saw your breath condensing I wondered how that still run was going to go! Interesting you decided there was no reason to double distill. It sure looked good though...made me want to try that recipe next! Thanks for posting 👍
I miss George to, have been watching his video's for years. Beared and bored posted he is having a break from CZcams and hopefully he will be back soon. Cheers
Hi Randy, From the mash to bottling, how much would you say it cost you per litre to make. That was a lot of berries you used and here in Aussie land even frozen berries are expensive. A bottle of normal vodka here is about $50 AU for a 1 litre bottle. I am sure some viewers like myself would be interested if home distilling saves you money, I am sure it would here since the government tax is high. Doing a hobby you love, is the cost factor important. Would love to hear your views on this topic. Thanks Stephen
Hi Stephen I have 1 more vid coming out on the beery Brandy I will have all the cost for you what i paid here in US come check out on Monday 700 EST Cheers my Friend
hi, i have just started with a cheap d.i.y distiller i bought by my, u stopped at distilling when i got to about 80 proof.? is there a reason for that..? can u not carry on and use the weaker idtilant to proof it down at the end..? im a beginner i have no idea
Hi Aaron I stop at 80 proof and i see it dropping fast I like to stop before i hit tails. the lower the abv the more off taste when i proof down I like to use good clean water that's just the way I do it cheers
@@stillworksandbrewing ok thankyou... what do u do with ur heads and tails..? i chucked my heads and i had a couple bottles of mixed abv from tails or low abv.. i mixed it all and put bk into my still and run it and i got 1 litre of 75% sorry im english so 150 proof... is it safe to re run the heads with this..?
@@aaronalexander6079 Heads and forshots I put in a jug for fire starter I will save tails and add to other batches and as far being English we all talk funny LOL Cheers my friend
Hi Timothy, the math tell you let's say 2.5 qt. 200 proof ( we can't get that) if I pull off let's say 2.5 qt. 100 proof that would be 50% alcohol and 50% water
Got my mouth watering
Thanks it was good I said was need to make more. Cheers

hi again ive seen ur video where u use malted barley to convert starches was wondering if i could use barley malt extract instead..?
Hi Aaron, you can not use malt extract because it has been cooked and those temps denature the enzymes used for conversion
Are you packing your column or leaving it empty when running this?
Hi Brandon I packed with two rolls of copper mesh only

@@stillworksandbrewing Thanks Randy, will do. 👍👍👍👍
Could you have warmed up the shine and added to sugar to melt it are you don't think that would work
I dont like warming up the shine plus warming up berry's and sugar to help bring out the berry flavor

Question, how did you end up with more distillate than you mathed?
