@@madmelwood3778 Too many people have pleaded guilty for some reason. I don't know why, considering some of these people are clearly not guilty of the charges. Yes, they will be convicted regardless of the law and the evidence. But if you are resigned to going to prison anyway, then at least fight it, and then you have the right to appeal. Appeals and High Court judges are cut from a better cloth than Crown and Magistrate Court judges. I have no doubt that we will see some convictions overturned in the coming months on appeal. I think the ECHR needs to get involved too.

@@tfmg2313 It's difficult enough to do that in the U.S. but at least there are federal elections every 2 years and really only 2 parties so turnover is more rapid, theoretically at least. And the US President is limited to 2 terms. WIth elections only occuring in the U.K. (and Canada) when the P.M. calls for them, multiple parties all competing for the majority in Parliament, the majority party choosing the P.M. rather than the P.M. being elected by citizens, and no term limits for the P.M. (at least in Candada) ... I can't imagine how difficult it is to effect change and oust problem politicians.
