    You never know it all because every baby is usually different from others you have. I am always amazed when I meet someone with perhaps two children who seem identical in their infancy habits. Thank you for mentioning how totally exposed they can feel. I think sometimes adults forget that we are animals and they can do nothing for themselves and everything is new to them, so babies can feel particularly vulnerable when naked, stuck in one position, not able to use their arms and legs while awake or even hearing a loud noise which startles them. We do well to recall how helpless they are. They are cute and resilient and learn and develop so very quickly, but they are vulnerable. Good to see how it all can be manipulated. I thought the midnight start was a better idea over noon. Thank you.

    My daughter has a 9 day old baby and they just got a used Snoo and the positive difference it makes is dramatic. Happier, calmer baby who is sleeping longer and happier parents who can get a solid blocks of three hours of sleep. It’s worth the money.

    • @MyJewishMommyLife
      @MyJewishMommyLife  Před 3 lety +1

      One suggestion I have is that you can turn it on and lock it at a setting (like level 1 or 2) and then just put the baby in and it will keep going, or you can use it without the movement. I'm not shomer shabbat so i haven't personally tried either!

    Thank you so much for this detailed review! Question, you mentioned that the swaddle has to be clipped in to work. I have a used snoo that a friend found in a closet he moved into last week, so he gave it to us since we are expecting baby #2, such a blessing this has happened! The only thing is, there was no mattress or swaddle. He plugged it in but nothing happened, but I heard you say that the swaddle has to be clipped in for it to work? Since there is no swaddle or mattress, could it be because a swaddle isnt clipped in? I am buying a swaddle now but am curious before it gets here! Again, thank you for your video!!

    Please be aware that the bag of rice trick and the towel tricks are violations of the CDC's ABCs of safe sleep. A is ALONE! Nothing should be added to a baby's sleep space to avoid accidental suffocation. It is better to lose sleep to a healthy baby than the grief of a dead one. In general I love the idea of the SNOO because it allows for soothing without compromising safety.

    • @MyJewishMommyLife
      @MyJewishMommyLife  Před 5 lety +1

      I hear ya and agree, the rice trick is one the Happiest Baby company told me about and I followed it for a little bit. I can see how it might be a hazard though at the time when I used it I didnt. You will also see people put head positioners in their Snoo, definitely do not do that!!!

I would love if you could let me know if the different sound modes are attached the movement levels, or for example, could I choose a specific sound/mode to be used at all levels? The snoo chat was not able to answer this question for me. Thank you very much.

    I’m a little confused about your comment around nursing in the sac clipped vs unclipped. Can you elaborate?

    • @annaboooo
      @annaboooo Před 3 lety

      The Snoo will only start when the sleep sack is clipped into the bassinet by sliding the loops on the side of the sack onto the clips that are fixed to the inside of the bassinet. Some people find it easier to do baby's bedtime routine with the baby already swaddled in the sleep sack, then they put baby in the Snoo and hook the sack onto the clips, then start the Snoo. Other people find it easier to leave the sleep sack hooked into the Snoo without baby inside of it, then when baby is ready to go down, baby is placed into the sleep sack that's already attached into place. You could technically start the Snoo with the sleep sack attached but no baby inside (like she demonstrates in this video using a stuffed animal in place of her son), and I guess some people find it works better for them and their baby to have the Snoo already going and then place their baby into the sleep sack when it's time. Other people find that too complicated and would rather go ahead and swaddle baby in the sleep sack before transferring them into the bassinet, then slipping the sack into place and starting the Snoo.

    Hi! Thank you for this video! Going to try your tips with rice and towel as my 8 week old started waking more. Do you put your baby in awake and then place? My kid doesn’t seem to fall asleep all the time in snoo. Also do you do naps in snoo as well? It’s hard for us to do all naps in there as snoo recommends

    • @MyJewishMommyLife
      @MyJewishMommyLife  Před 4 lety

      Yes we did nap in the Snoo and we did put the baby in semi awake (just about asleep but awake enough to know he's being transferred).
