aksel Holmgren , studio drummer, open handed lefty guy, probably one of the most talented drummers I've ever seen , his patterns are amazing and he's like a fuckin clock. One of the best time keepers around on my opinion.
This guy has massive chops. I can feel the rudiments.
My husband and I drove 12 hours to see this show. It was so fucking worth it to see them perform in a small venue!
He is always upright posture, so elegant even playing the drums.
This is one of the points that made me fall in love with the band *as well* they are always very elegant.
he and Hayden are the best Ghost drummers
8 years later and still amazing. The old drummer was the absolute best.
Ghost was such a great band with this beast. I've had a hard time getting into the newer Ghost, because its just not the same without Aksel and Martin and the old bandmates.
Simon was a fucking beast on guitar as Alpha. I fell in love with his smooth sound and I really miss him
What if I told you, enjoy Ghost as it is and stop trying to find out who these people are.
i come from time to time to see this guy drumming. absolutely spot on, not one hit out of time. impressive simple and effective drumming
Es el único baterista que he visto que toca inverso al marca tiempo y a la tarola
He is so good, I love the way he plays... The only thing bad must be the heat inside his costume...
Goes to show you don’t need a big drum kit with cymbals.. Earth is a badass motherfucker. Hard hitter with a very unique style.
Really digging the set up. Nice and clean. No messing around.
I love watchin this guy drum, totally unique 🤘🤘🤘🤘
holy god this is amazing drumming
The best drummer of ghost (A.H.)
He has a very unique style!
This drummer and Martin WERE the sound of Ghost. Tobias had the vision but these Ghouls new how to translate that into sound… It shows now.
Aksel only played on Infestissumam and though Martin recorded the rhythm tracks on Meliora he didn't influence the writing much. Martin said so himself. He just contributed here and there. Year Zero and Zenith were mainly written by him though.
@@Memu_from 10 tracks on Meliora, Martin is credit as co-writer in seven, most of the album. And Martin only recorded the demo, who plays on album was Henrik Palm and Simon Söderberg.
@@hnzeroghoul7474 I am aware. I am saying what Martin said himself. He said he didn't contribute that much.
@@Memu_ "Well, I wouldn't go so far as to call my contributions huge, because Tobias is a pop genius; he's a songwriting genius. And I think he would have done just fine without me as well. But of course, I did have some contributions but it's not like… I don't wanna compare myself to him in terms of what made Ghost, Ghost. But, of course, I did have some influence." That is what he said. Of course he said that, because he was comparing with Tobias.
He helped to design visual things such as the masks and stage attire for the second and third album, bringing in the RDs and Co designing the Fantomen. Also the only other person than TF to be a regular spokesperson for the band with the press. Overall his impact on the second and third record and their promotion was significant just objectively from the songwriting credits, court information and public appearances.
In the court documents for example it's mentioned he:
"Designed stage attire, masks and symbols used on album covers, t-shirts etc"
"Participated in interviews and marketing activities"
"Participated in decisions about what concerts to play, the band's image and similar creative decisions"
And TF never disputed that. Also think it is noteworthy that MP doesn't feel the need to brag about it...
@@hnzeroghoul7474 This is pretty much what I meant. Saying Martin and Aksel were "the sound" of Ghost is hyperbolic.
He's so good!
Miss this Earth
he makes it seem so easy. this requires skill
I've always loved the drum compositions for ALL the Ghost songs. This is awesome.
Love that open handed style.
The bass is killer
Finally! Been waiting for this since when he got endorsed. Thanks Meinl. He is a great drummer and possibly this will be even more evident in the future.
always wanted to see him playing
thank you meinl
Also, ambidextrous to top it off, pretty talented young man
I never knew this guy was that good! Great video!
amazing! upload more vids of him playing please !
his talent is admirable!
The bridge part is amazing. So simple but I have a hard time figuring out to play it non-open handed. I mean it sounds simplier and rudimentary watching it than playing it as smooth.
I love his drumset haha
I was just telling my friend about seeing this band for the first time without knowing who they were or what they were and how I was basically freaked out in a good way lol. It was this show! What a throwback.
Very good 🤘
love it.
Perfect cymbols right there.
Upload EVERYTHING! I want to see all the song, this is a really good drummer.
Love con clavi con dio
we missed you
This is my favorite song
we miss you!
i fucking love this great band i meet them in orion fest great style
Awesome
Dem dynamics at the end though!
I would love to see this, but for "Stand by Him". The sexy drum beat of that song is amazing.
Holy shit, nice leading with the left hand!
amazing drummer and i also love how he is in a band like ghost! Good job!
Stacie Dziedzic it's easy. there is a video of Ghost performing in Gothenburg in 2015. the camera focuses mostly on the (new) drummer. after watching this video (and have observed how this Ghoul plays, his posture, and his style and "finesse") go and see the one I mentioned. u will notice on UR own that it's a totally different person.
plus this one Earth Ghoul is now continuing on a new band project (called the Great Discord)
i love this ex ghost drumer with his unique style with lefty hand,,the sound the technic, simple drums kit but full tone, i really like his amazing patterns, very baddas. i dont know why he left or maybe replace.
you asked. we're delivering. i'm uploading "elizabeth" as i write this. - chris
Beyond talented. Too bad he was replaced...
Supposedly every member changes except for Papa. Every once and a while there will, be a new guitarist, or drummer, or etc. A few months ago they got a new bassist.
Fun fact: Dave Grohl was once a Nameless Ghoul.
I want Nameless Ghoul vic firth signature sticks !
Alexander Yakubovich he does use pro mark..at least at the time of this video..you can see the black band on the sticks
Mac Drummer It looks like one of thier Pro Round models. Maybe a 5B possibly.Promark also has signature models that have a ball tip like that so it could be a few different models
Majestic
This is nice, seeing as how the drummer can be nearly impossible to see live with all the fog. Very interesting how he plays the snare with his right hand and hi-hats with left.
***** Actually he has stated that versatility is one of his strengths in drumming. he basically plays just as good righty as he plays lefty. I don't know what his "main" asset is though.
The rudiments are strong in this one
very cool
pretty solid drummer!
Dude can play those drums!!
would really love this type of camera angle for Elizabeth.
And I was gonna agree, it looks so simple for him
very interesting drummer, from the point of view that you do not hear 'triplets' played in any recently made music . Its a pleasure to see fairly easy rudiments to learn played WELL
Genio
good jam on a simple set
can you upload "monstrance clock" from this angle? that would be lovely!
Parkus, why are you trying to name this nameless ghoul? He is nameless for a reason.
Yeah Ghost rules. Nice drumming by Namless.
What about Ritual? is a great song too :D It deserves a video like this one (which is awesome! thanks for sharing)
Exactly! Proof that Meinl does what they can For the artist and not Only for profit. That's both admirable and inspirational. I'm sure that if they knew the real name of the drummer, they wouldn't want to destroy their image.
This guy is ambidextrous, right? I've never seen a drummer playing like that, sometimes like a lefty and sometimes like a righty.
Its called open handed playing. Its pretty cool when you get used to it.
The drummer you see here is no longer in the band, the new one is a righty
so i guess u've never heard of Simon Phillips, Billy Cobham, just to name a few... ;)
Not this particular drummers you're mentioning, but I've seen other open handed drummers before. But what caught my eye with the Nameless Goul is that, for example, he hits the ride with his right hand and then the hi-hat with his left hand. Maybe that's common with this technique and I've never realised before, that's quite possible ha!
it is quite common, though, from the looks of it, i think that guy is left handed, while kicking it with his right foot... oh well, its doesnt matter. if u r into drumming though, i urge u to check those drummers i mentioned, more stuff to get inspired by :)
Literally the best drummer in Ghost... such a shame the direction they chose recently.
holy shit he's good!
Fucking yes!
Can’t hear much bass but this drummer is incredible
his ride
Of course, because at Meinl they are smart and don't want to ruin what used to be a brilliant concept ;)
Can we have some more videos? :)
A fellow open hander! Ghost rules
Awesome. Next time maybe you could film either "Jiggolo Har Megiddo" (hi-hat gets some extra fun on that one) or "Ghuleh/Zombie Queen" (overall brilliant tempo and more cymbals-tastiness towards the end of the live version).
Visit the Meinl site, it just says: ''A Nameless Ghoul'' xD
omg this is just one song. Imagine remebering 15 songs like this to play perfectly
Why do I feel like the drum set is a little bit small for him
...or Year Zero. That would be even better! ;)
I'd agree that he's a lefty. He starts his rolls with his left hand.
Askel Holmgren
i think it is really funny to play this song in 1,5 and 2,0
probably not the best video to make this request but....Can we get some videos of drummers that play in the christian and gospel genre?
Omega was high
🖤👻❤️😍
Does anybody knows the nace of the snare?
Doesn't really matter what snare it is. You can roughly see how big it is and you can kinda see what kind of drumhead it has. After that it's mainly about tuning.
I still can't tell if he's a lefty like me or he just played open like Simon Philips, Bobby Jarzombek and my friend Isaac.
Crom Tuise He's a lefty. I met him and spoke with him about his style and he was signing stuff left handed. I asked him why he played a right handed style, he said "I've always played right handed kits, just as a left handed drummer". A great guy to talk with.
drumbasher
That's really interesting to know, because i have a second snare so i can play songs like Year Zero open-handed, yet he doesn't. It's really interesting to see how different people play, even if they're the same as you.
I can see on songs like Year Zero that he does cross-under 16ths, which is something i had to do until i got a better solution. That's something that a right-hander doesn't do.
Who do I have to Paypal to get the rest of the show?!? Take my money and name your price!
The only smell in the air was Nag Champa Sunrise.
The original is always best!!! Proof a drummer doesn't need a massive setup to be cool..excellant chops..
Totally agree
