How Much Weight Can a Fly Actually Lift? Experiment-I Lassoed a Fly!

In this video I catch a fly and tie a string to it in order to measure how much weight it can lift! First I slow down their metabolism by cooling them down then I tie a string around it and attach duct tape weights to it in order to see how much it can lift! I was surprised how much it could lift!

A friend of mine and his friends, when they were about 10 years old, lassoed a few flies with 3-4 cm of threads and released them in the classroom just to annoy the teacher. He says nobody was listening to the lecture, they all watched the flies with smiles on their faces :) I don't think they chilled the flies or untied them later!

I had a big fly with 20 cm of white string attached, and some 50 or more small flies captured in a marmalade glass. I opened the glass during lessons in the classroom. The room was filled with buzzing flies in some seconds, and the big one carried his string in spirals. Girls were screaming, boys broke out in laughter, and the teacher was horrified. 1. It's not an animal, it's an insect
2. Some have parasitic larvae

Because it’s the same policy we use with war. The Japanese hated the Chinese, but did that give the Japanese the right to do inhuman experiments on them?
