    I absolutely love these babies!! And I can't wait to take our little Jaxon or, as Shawn loves to say...Wavy Davy Jaxon home!😂

      Yes, very soon you will be cuddling with him as you wake up in the morning and then getting him to the back yard to potty and play and then feeding him as he does his morning training routine and zoomies and ... a nap.... ❤️

    I have been looking all week for an update video and was so glad to see this video. As stated by others, great Q and A session. Once again, I learned more, and like she said even though I have had schnauzers I am learning so much from your videos and cannot wait. Also, the puppies were so quiet at the vet. I cannot wait to have my own puppy that is quiet and not nervous at Quakertown. I miss seeing the adorable schnauzers! You have plenty to do with the current puppies and the upcoming ones. Don't forget we will have fireworks Friday or Saturday if it rains! Good luck to Huckleberry and Nellie! You are one special person!

      Aw, thank you so much Deb! I appreciate your comments more than you know and the reminder that there may be fireworks this weekend too - I will make sure I am playing the loud sounds all through out the day. And when the fireworks went off on July 4th there wasn't a peep out of mine - they slept through it all cuddled up next to me and Jim! Thank you Deb!

    I have just found your channel this week and the amount of knowledge that you have and are willing to share with the rest of us is so appreciated! I have realized that we can't assume that long time dog owners like myself know some of this information. Even basic things I have forgotten over the years. And thank you for taking time out to answer the couple of questions that I've asked you. I do appreciate that. I love looking at your schnauzers (puppies and adults) they are just gorgeous. The chocolate color is just gorgeous.

    Absolutely loved the Q and A section. I had to change out an old school vet who wanted to inoculate & re-inoculate with certain vaccines I (and my breeder) did not feel were needed with my little 6 lb indoor pups. Luckily, I found another vet who would listen to owner’s concerns for my particular breed and their lifestyle….and would Titer as I requested. A vet who is a really good listener and not all into their own ego and 💰…is an absolute treasure…and are not always easy to find. Can’t wait to see what gorgeous babies Huckleberry produces!!! She is a doll. Thank you Shawn.❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾

      Hi Carole! Nice to see you here today! Yes! You are so right about this. Finding a great vet is worth the time and effort. I feel very lucky to have found mine Dr Sam Geller at Quakertown Vet has said similar things to me! When a puppy leaves my care and goes to a new vet 3 days later and the new vet will want to re-do shots and things like one told someone a puppy had to have a tooth pulled immediately for $600 - she called me before agreeing and I said wait the tooth will likely fall out on its own in the next two or three months and you don't need to put the dog under to have this happen. Within a few weeks that tooth fell out on its own. This is an example where I think perhaps the need to pay a car payment, house payment or student loan payments maybe influencing what is being recommended and it is wise to be aware of this so you get what you need and not more. THANK YOU for being here with me in this 😍❤️

    What a fantastic Q&A session with Jaxson’s family! I know I’m not the only one that’s super excited to hear that they will be back with a grown up Jaxson to visit his future brother 🐾🥰 I really appreciate them sharing their experience with us on CZcams😊 And also…what a thoughtful gift from Bama’s family! I have the same book and I am finding it to be a wonderful resource, full of useful information for pet parents like myself. I’m really curious about how you (and your dogs) like the new probiotics supplements you purchased. My 10 month old puppy unfortunately had to be on antibiotics recently and no doubt her microbiome is in shambles. I’m always looking for good products that I can add to her probiotics rotation. Thank you for sharing another great vlog! I enjoy them all 💛

      Yes! Hannah and Hailey have learned so much this week! It is incredible really to see how much they can develop in such a short time! We will be capturing more of their learning soon - I'm sitting by Huckleberry to keep an eye on her but I can hear Briana in the other room working with the puppies ... I will get a video with them soon ❤️

    Hi Shawn! Today's video was very informative. I especially found the question and your response about grass treatments helpful. The comment about foxes was interesting. I live in Southern California and although I am not concerned about foxes I am concerned about coyotes and hawks. I also have a pool. So having a puppy trained to go indoors on a pad would be very important. I am looking to retire in May 2026 so I think it is a bit early for being on a waiting list. My "soul puppy" would be a clone of Burberry. When would you recommend being put on a waiting list? In the meantime, I look forward to watching your videos :). Jim

    • @svccschnauzers
      @svccschnauzers  Před 20 dny +3

      Hi Jim! Thank you for enjoying my videos and commenting. You asked me an important question about my waiting list. Some people know exactly what they want (Like a girl who looks just like Burberry.) Other people say gender and color don't matter I just want one of yoru puppies that will travel well and be well trained. When someone wants something very specific it is best to get on my waiting list early because I call people about a puppy based on the order of the date they reach out to me. I do have some people on my waiting list for summer of '25 already - again they want a specific color and the puppy will be graduation gift for a medical student etc. All that to say it is not too early to go on my waiting list if you know for sure you want a puppy from me. If you want to keep your options open for which breeder you work with then you can decide that as you get closer to your desired date. (My list for people who want chocolate or chocolate and red puppies is long already 😊 and I want to be open and not pushy about that.) Hope I am conveying this well?

    6’ fence? I am in California and we have coyotes and bobcats. A 6’ fence does not keep these predators out. We have Utube videos recording these scaling the fence so please do not leave your pup outside. A 6’ fence only provides a false sense of security. It’s better than a 4’ fence but is only a deterrent than fail safe. Great video today! I’m so envious of those new puppy parents!

      @svccschnauzers  Před 20 dny +2

      Great comment Joyce, I assure you they will not be leaving him out alone! They put the 6' fence in to deter animals from visiting their yard when they aren't in it themselves - such as late night visits from foxes etc. Yes! these new puppy parents are adding much love and joy to their lives. THANK YOU for enjoying my videos and commenting!

    Hi Shawn when you start to give your pups solid food - you vary it from day to day or week to week ? Is the variety the reason why your pups don’t get diarrhea? I have never fed a diet that changes daily or weekly and I am excited to eventually implement this when I get to take home a SVCC puppy. I would like to learn more about varying a diet and having pups maintain good stools.

    • @svccschnauzers
      @svccschnauzers  Před 20 dny +2

      Yes! I do provide a variety of protein sources so my puppies are exposed to many foods at a young age to build their gut microbiome. This video will give you the basics of what I am doing by feeding my dogs a daily stew that has protein, veggies, fruit and crushed egg shells as the base : czcams.com/video/0QTQ76SRmzI/video.html. I have many more videos showing what I am feeding my dogs to add variety - thank you for enjoying!

    Great videos with playtimes, training and more… question about the ears: 20 plus years ago, it was recommended to remove the hair in the ears of our schnauzer to keep it from getting infected along with cleaning them with a product with a cotton swab. Is this still accurate today (removing the hairs from the ears)? Thank you, Shawn.

    • @svccschnauzers
      @svccschnauzers  Před 20 dny +3

      Hi Julie,
      One vet says, "Yes, pluck the hair from their ears and clean their ears every week." Another one says, "Leave the hair in their ears and clean every 3 weeks." What we do here is pluck a little hair on Fridays and we clean ears every week with the ear wash product I showed you in the video. We use a cotton ball to clean, if needed, but not a Q-tip. If a dog's ears look dark colored inside we would use the ear wash daily to get the stuff out and a dog will shake their head which helps to get the stuff to come up and then the cotton ball can wipe it out. The products I mentioned in this video are good to have incase your puppy starts scratching his ears regularly then you have what you need already and don't have to make a vet appointment with a problem. Yeast problems (that impact ears and skin) can become an issue when it is very hot outside and dogs are outside long enough to get very hot.

      @@svccschnauzers thank you, Shawn. I appreciate your detailed response. I will ask the vet on the first visit with Jasper as I am curious on his/her opinion on this.
