Hey, iraville I really love your art style.. I'm currently trying to develop my own and can you do a sketchbook flip through or you know show your old work or something cause I it will show how you know you improved and this will help beginners like me alot!

sketchbooks are very personal for me. i make them for myself to have the freedom to make mistakes, trying out things, experimenting writing down thoughts...etc and stuff i dont want to share with the public.. i sometimes share sketchbook pages etc on my instagram. there you also find older work when you scroll back to the beginning ;) or on my deviant art page (i dont update anymore) is still some old work from me too.(you will find both links in the info of this channel) Btw, your own style comes from alone over years, ist nothing you can force, you develope it just with patience, time and a LOT of drawing and experimenting :)
Thanks IRA I'm so glad that you replied! I respect your privacy and I totally understand that sketchbooks nay be private things for many people and they might be something personal to you... Most of my sketchbook pages are also shitty mistakes and involve alot of trial and error and only 1 out of 10 pages is something worth showing ( even though they aren't even half as good as yours ) anyways I'm a 14 y/o who's doing O Level art and your work is a great inspiration thank you for showing it to us and taking time out to reply...
Most artists have sketchbooks that they never show the world, it's a place where we don't have to worry about making something good. It's a place to play and experiment and fail. A lot of artists do have a 'sketchbook' that they show people but it's more of a sketchbook filled with polished ideas rather than an actual sketchbook. A lot of artists also work in multiple sketchbooks concurrently depending on the medium they are playing with. Others still prefer to have an all medium style book that they fill chronologically. The thing that helps beginners the most is learning that failure is a part of the learning process. You will learn more from your mistakes than you will by churning out perfect works. Sketch often, fail often, learn often, practice often. Art is mainly about the time that you put into it. My favorite analogy is that artistic skills are like muscles that you build up over time. The more you train your muscles the stronger they become. It's the same with art skills, the more you train the better you get. :)

Your technique is so clean and smooth! I love how the backyard emerged slowly from all the wisely composed rectangles. The chosen music was also beautiful only most of it was so melancholic that the peaceful scene from backyard looked more like 'the calm before the storm' like something bad is going to happen there ^^ But anyway and again, es ist wunderschön!

I enjoy your channel so much. This was timely as I just finished watching all your old videos. I have started painting only a month ago. Why do you mix the masking fluid with distilled water and in what ratio?
i mix my masking fluid always with a bit destilled water to make it a bit more liquid so it´s easier to cover more detailed. :) i mix by feel until i like the consistency, i would say 1:6 maybe 1:5...not too much water :)
