Installing ceiling fan bracket without changing out the existing electrical box. In addition to this bracket we have two more for if the box is installed between joists, and those too can be installed without changing out the box. Unfortunately there is a delay in getting these brackets finished in time so it looks like we will be getting them the first or second week of September. we will have our website up before then and that is where we'll be selling them until we can get them into Home Depot and Lowe's. Thank you for your patience. - Jak na to + styl
I need one! My ceiling fan is on a box and I’m needing to replace it! Thank you for the video! No need to apologize for stumbling over your words, we were educated. You’ll get the hang of talking points on videos and editing in no time! 👌🏼🧨‼️
Thank you for your kind words. our website should be up soon. FixtureSupportSystems.net. There you will be able to see our other products including our other brackets
Well, good luck with your idea. Sounds like you will sell some. We would have bought it today had yor site been up.

Damn they used to be 11 each now they 20

We were having problems with postage issues so we just made it a flat rate to cover postage and handling. hopefully we will be able to get this into stores real soon so the price will be back to $11.
I have watched several videos and this is by far the best one for a 60 year old DIYer.
Best invention ever for fans. Bought a long drill bit just to make it easier to drill through the plastic housing. Screws are great and bite well. Use hammer drill to install screws.
Very tight. Made a fairly complex job quite easy. Thanks a lot for the video and idea.
The EZ-Brace 101 is an awesome product. One of my ceiling fans fell since it was originally hung from a plastic light box. I don't have access to the lightbox from above to swap it out, so had to find a solution within the light box. Thankfully I came across this video and ordered an EZ-Brace 101 from Fixture Support Systems. It came in the mail a few days later and I installed it the next day. Super-easy to install. These definitely hold at least 150 pounds. My fan won't be coming down again. Great product!
Great video and an incredible help to us DIYers.
Smart idea to test the tensile strength of the bracket with that thing you made.
You are the man!!! You saved me so much time and cursing. Thank you!!!
What a great video Robert! You can count on Robert and Pete to do an amazing job and this little gadget shows how far ahead of the game they are. Pete and Robert are my go-to guys for all my home electrical needs! Today (9/13) they just finished up my garage rewire, ceiling fans, switches, and extra conduit for future projects! Kudos guys!
Sick. Done so so many brackets from below. DUDE!!! THANK YOU
Great design and time saving design. Your weight test is the selling point! Those other brackets sort of mount to the trusses or rafters but, they sit on top of the sheetrock too. Also the time saver really is the re-wiring the box after you finish. Usually the wires are too short after you change the box out! More work, more time and aggravation!
Sir you make a great video! Please don't ever doubt yourself. Thank you for being so awesome!
Thank you for the kind words. We're just being able to launch this and some other brackets and hopefully we just got the person that's going to help us get through the technical part of all of this.
Thank you. This is the third video I’ve watched about this and the first one that showed me anything useful.
This is awesome
Some j/a decided to mount a ceiling fan on a plastic box and it was extremely wobbly. This saved me a lot of headache
Thanks for posting this video! Simple enough for sure.
Thank you sir! I'm an elderly guy but with the information in the video I believe I can do it. Great video!😊😊
Installed mine in a metal box. Took a little more effort but worked perfect. Thank god for steel drill bits. Nice product for $20
This dude is the goat! Thank you sir!
Thank you for makimg this video and great job of explaining all the details.
You did a good job on the video, I was able to follow and will do the same when installing my ceiling fans.
Very helpful, exactly what I needed. Thanks, you are the man!
Awesome! I like this guy!
I'm actually going do this week, thanks, Robert, I wasn't sure how to go about it!
Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you for this brace!! It is phenomenal!! So easy to install and sturdy as heck!! One of the best inventions ever!!
thank you for the kind words. now if I didn't have to jump through so many hoops for home depot to put it in their stores it could be sold there for a little more than half the price
sorry i responded from my sons you tube account accidentally
Robert, Thanks again for taking my call on an off day. It took me a while to modify my box to accept the brace, but once I'd modified it, the brace went in quickly and solidly. Even with the modification, a lot easier than installing a new box and worrying about the 70 year-old wire falling apart.
You're very welcome. I'm glad it worked out for you
@@robertleo9744 Quick question. The fan I installed is an awesome little caged fan/light. It's still sometimes making a "ticktickticktickticktick" sound. But it sometimes doesn't make a sound after several hours running. I'm sure the bracket is solid. However, I forgot to install the small stabilization pin. Should I take it down, take it apart, reinstall it or just let it run for several hours to see if the "tickticktick" works itself out? I'm not sure if it's the screws in the fan, or the very slight swaying and rubbing of metal. Thoughts?
When all the screws are tight there is absolutely no way there would be any kind of movement between the EZ-Brace101 and the fan bracket to be able to make any noise. I'm not sure when you say the stabilization pin if that's a pin that goes in for a down rod or what. Those also have set screws to hold them. Hopefully this was some help for you.@@jonbuckley7406
Holy cow! Very very nice. Thanks for sharing.
This worked perfectly for me highly recommended 👍
best video i done seen yet! peace and love.
Thank You so much for your video ! Great thing that ez brace 101!!!
very nice. thanks for showing this ez-brace, bro 👍
Helped a bunch. Thanks!!
Very good informative video. Thank you!
Great info. I hadnt seen that bracket before. Thanks!
we just designed that bracket about a year ago, we have three other brackets where you don't have to remove the existing box. they're all patent pending right now. we hsve to wait until sept. before we have all of them available for the market.
@@robertleo9744 oh no!!! I need this now!!! 😫
Thank you so much for this video now I know what I need to buy 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Not listed so as an electrician I can't install them, but despite being very skeptical when I first clicked on here, after looking into the product I think this is legit. As long as it's a nail on box and you know where to angle the product to sink into the wood, the screws are the right guage to support the motion and weight of standard fans. I hope to see this expanded upon in the future!
Right, I dont think itll ever be listed since NEC says you can't modify boxes, but its still pretty cool
Also screwing blind is scary. You might hit more than wood. For example engineered trusses are thinner.
Excellent video, thank you!!!!
Wonderful idea!!! 💡
Thanks man, this helped me a lot!!
Nice explanation, thanks !
I liked that Jere Burns explained this to me. He was really funny in Angie Tribeca.
Would this work with I-bean joist? If it screws onto the thin part? I would think it won’t hold the weight like it would with 2x6 beams or 2x8 beams. Any ideas for the I-beam joist for easy install?
That's an awesome bracket.
Hi, were you able to find that bracket? Ive been looking for it for months and still no luck!
This was so helpful!!! Thank you
You're very welcome
Great video! Love the product
I just ordered a fan that will be replacing a light fixture, I'll definitely need one of these
Go to fixturesupportesystems.com to purchase this bracket
Where can I get this bracket??
Great showing
Thank you for great video and great tip..👍👍
Great invention. I would like to buy several.

My brother you're an absolute genius. I do a lot of fan installs, and typically under these circumstances I swap out the box for a ceiling fan rated box. I just ordered four of these on Amazon. For the love of God thank you. I will be featuring this on my TikTok channel.
Thank you for your kind words. I really appreciate you, and glad that you're helping show that there is a product out there that makes a non fan rated electric box fan rated.
@@robertleo9744 I just found this. My light box is metal, but not for a fan. Can I predrill through the metal box in order to mount into the joist to use this bracket?
@@rogueteach5197 If your metal box is attached to the joist you can predrill (you have too predrill through the box if metal). Because of the angle the hole might have to be big enough for the screw. only one out of over a three thousand sold has there been a screw break, it wasn't explained to us as to how it happened but I can only assume it was because of the metal box and the screw going in sideways. The screws we use are very strong and that shouldn't happen. The screws we use you can pick up at Home Depot they're spax screws. If your box is not attached to the joist and you don't want to change out your box you can use the EZ-Brace200 or EZ-Brace216. Thank you
@@robertleo9744 Yes. The box is attached to the joist by the side flanges that extend fore and aft of it. I read that specific review of the screw breaking and figured it was user error. I ordered the brace and will let you know how it goes. Thanks. (Getting into the attic above it is a real pain the ass. And, being just knowledgeable enough to turn off the breaker to that room, I really don't want to rewire a new box.)
@@rogueteach5197 Not changing out the box and rewiring it is one of the greatest things about all of our brackets.
Great Video. Thanks. Will this bracket work with an existing shallow electrical box?
Wish I could give you 100 thumbs up. Great tutorial.
Thank you Robert. Make more videos !
I believe you!!! Nice job
Thanks for your tutorial
Very helpful! Thank you
WOW this is an amazing invention of a great product. i would love to buy some of these now i can install a ceiling fan anywhere.😆 even a Hunter Original.
This was very helpful!
Thank You
Just saw this. Exactly what I needed. The bedroom ceiling fan home I purchased several years ago died. In changing it out, I realized it had a plastic box. I ordered three to fix the bedroom and two other ceiling fans in the house.
Where did you order them from?
WOW,,, got to see if they sell these at HD or Lowes - that was very fast I'd take all day doing this task... ha and nice that he put the weights on it to show it will hold way more weight than a ceiling fan...
Thank you sir great video
How does it handle a wobble, Is it UL tested?
Are these designed only for fans on downrods, or can they work with flush mounted fans?
Thanks for sharing 👍
Job well done sir
Just ordered 2 my boxes are plastic and has nob and tube and lots of wires 4 in all.cant get access but if I did would do this way, this is brilliant will let you know comes is Wednesday.
Yeah, cheers man! Good info here
Looks great, and with a brighter bulb installed that’s all the light you need. czcams.com/users/postUgkxWF88GpljEn-0o34vtLFazEQ5h5Q33SjU As far as ease of installation- this was my first ceiling fan and it took about 3 hours because I had no idea what I was doing and also it’s helpful to have a second set of hands and a magnetic drill bit. Works great.
I have conduit with to ends terminating on top of the box ?
Thanks 😊 appreciate it
Is this available at Home Depot in Canada?
This was an accurate video of what I was looking for, the problem is that I went super crazy and broke everything 😳
Lol I almost just did that to mine. I had to tell myself to calm down so I don't have to do more work later
Great video thanks
This is exactly what I need, I’ve been looking up at this ugly thing too long now but didn’t feel like visiting “Old Sparky” again. This makes it possible for me and lot easier. Where can I find these?
I have a loose box for my chandelier
Going to get the bracket to secure the loose box. Thank you.
Thank you for the vid
Awesome man
Unfortunately the EZ brace 101 wouldn't work in my situation-ceiling light, no room for it in the plastic elec. box, there were 3 separate cables going into the elect. box, 2 on one side, other one feed through the other side of the plastic box and they all 3 feed through the center of the box not though the upper part of the box. There were like 12 or more wires in the box, so no room for the brace to fit up in the box without hitting one or both of the elec. cables wouldn't fit up flush. So couldn't put a ceiling fan in the center bedroom...
its that product UL listed? just to know if my electrical inspector would approved that.
Robert, thanks for the video, and making us aware of this product. One question: When I remove the old light fixture, and I see that I have a plastic box, how do I know which side of the box is attached to the joist? In my attic, there are 18 inches of insulation on top of the ceiling, so it would be quite difficult for me to get up there and dig around in all that insulation to find the plastic box - in order to see how it is mounted to the joist. Is there a simple way to tell, after removing the light fixture, to determine where the joist is, in relation to the box - without going into the attic, and without removing drywall? I've ordered the EZ Brace 101 and I hope I can install it properly. Many thanks!
You can take a thin flat head screwdriver and wedge it in between the box and drywall and probe around. That's probably the best way if not using something like an icepick and poking through the ceiling than using some silicon caulking to dab the holes afterward if the holes end up being outside of the installed fan canopy.
@@robertleo9744 Thanks so much! I will try your suggestions.
I just attached the bracket to the box that the light was attached to, is that okay?
Excellent video! I have an ignorant question: is there an easy way to determine if the joist is on one side of the plastic light box or the other?
You could use a skinny flathead screwdriver and probe around the box with it. If the plastic box isn't attached to the ceiling joist we have an EZ-Brace200&216 that you use. They too don't require changing out the box
nice, are these available at Lowes or home depot??
I really love this EZ-Brace 101. Is it any way I can get one before Sept? Are you in FL?
the website will be up and going this week
Go to fixturesupportsystems.com to purchase this bracket
I replaced my first fan w/o much problems except that the new one had a remote receiver which made it difficult to squeeze the wires in and close the housing. I used space saving push in clips instead of traditional wire nuts which made the job possible. However, when I attempted to replace the second fan I discovered that the new one needed a bigger and different ceiling fan-box and decided it was too much work and mess. I put that fan away to wait for better days and moved on to replace kitchen light with a new one. As I opened the packaging for the new light I just bought I discovered a huge 9 inch bracket the new light came with. I put that one away too to wait for better days. Something always happens...
A twin is better than a single as long as both engines function normally (aircraft analogy) as long as both screws hit the meat of the stud your good to go.
Is that bracket listed?
Web site up?
Check this issue out! So i have older home same issue but wires are conduit with and old 1900 in ceiling! As you know there are issues with screw tabs not being strong enough as i customized a 1900 blank plate! box its self seems fastened good to stud im more concerned with screw tabs even though the steel was much better 1950"s original 1900 box! what do i do ? lol!
Moving into new mobile home, which is a single wide home. Will this brace work in a mobile home because want to install a ceiling fan in master bedroom that currently has a can style led light?
When you say can style light I'm thinking recess light, not knowing if it is a 4 inch or a 6 inch light or if the can is directly attached to the ceiling joist. If the ceiling fan canopy is able to cover over either the 4inch or 6 inch can opening and you're going to use the can as the electric work box per say and it's attached to the ceiling joist it should work.
You should also check to see if the depth from surface of the ceiling to bottom of the box "can"
is at least 1 3/4 inch. Hope that this helps you.
@Robert Leo thanks for the reply. Can let you know on the diameter of Can style recessed light. Honestly looks like 4 inch, but will check
the last portion of the video looked like it was hanging in a different location. Next to a door or some other opening? . . . so close to the back wall, is it a 6" fan blade? So many questions. But I'll try the product and test it for myself.
All portions of the video was recorded in the same place. it wasn't in a room with a door, it was a made up ceiling that was lifted to show the installation of the EZ-Brace101 and lowered so that I can hang the weights from the fixture bracket
How can I by2 easy brace 101?
I am trying to purchase on your site but the site won't progress to the payment screen.
Please let us know when it’s available for purchase. Great product
our website should be up soon. FixtureSupportSystems.net

Hey nice tip, where can I get that bracket? Thanks
You can purchase the EZ Bracket 101 on Amazon. Link is posted below.
www.amazon.com/Generic-101-EZ-Brace101/dp/B0B4QV16DB
Nice invention. However I have 2 concerns: 10 Is it UL listed, and 2) how does it affect box fill?
thanks for the informative video.
it's in the process of getting listed, and as far as box fill although it may look like it takes up some room, it virtually takes up no room.
Sadly Hardware stores do not carry EZ-Brace 101, the jungle store does but that's 7-10 days to get it unless you have prime...So you cannot run out and buy one..
I've sent many new product inquiries to home depot, lowe's, grangers and numerous other stores and don't even get a response. I've registered through not only the stores but also product gateway. I've spent a couple years doing everything I can think of to get our products in a store. because of how crooked amazon is that is why it even cost so much to buy our brackets. Hopefully we'll be able to get it in the stores soon. Thank you for your comment.
Still worth it to buy off amazon I just used your brace to install a fan I’m very happy and will highly recommend it to everyone
where do you get the ex brace
Go to fixturesupportsystems.com to purchase this bracket
Can I use this bracket for heavy chandeliers?
yes you can. I made a swing and hung it from the EZ-Brace101 and me being 180LBS I could swing on it with no problems
My house was built in 1966. The electrical boxes are all metal. I doubt that those TORX screws will be able to go through metal. What length drill bit would I need to create a pilot hole using the bracket? I'm going to see where I can buy these brackets in Nov.2022.
I would use 5 inch long drill bit if your going to use the bracket for a guide.
Will these work on steel boxes that are not ceiling fan rated? Also I cannot find this item online or in a store anywhere. Is there a website?
There has been a delay in our shipment of this product. We are looking at the first or second week of September. You say you have an existing metal box, more so than not those are mounted between joists and not fastened to a joist. We have two other brackets that you can use and like the EZ-braces 101, the EZ-brace 200 and 216 are installed without changing out your existing box, and those two are for boxes that are not fastened to a joist. We should have our website up soon. FixtureSupportSystems.net. Thank you for your patience
My metal boxes are attached to a stud directly. They are just not ceiling fan rated boxes.
@@myunk than you would just have to drill the two pilot holes to install the EZ-brace 101. no need to take the wires apart and replace the box
@@robertleo9744 ok great, looking forward to getting a few of these.
Are there available yet?
So when and where can I order this product and also what is the cost and do you take paypal? Also how long will it take to get delivered?
the website will be up and going this week.

Thanks for the video and the new option. I’m gonna have to get two of these. I’m putting up two ceiling fans they’re pre-wired but it’s a plastic square one receptacle electrical box in the ceiling with a square cover will it work with one of those? Thanks again.
