Im 37 going on 38. Dirt bike incident at age 27 left me paralyzed from the chest down T6-T7. Year later, i was on a 4 wheeler, 2 years later we put training wheels on my 250. Luckily i was a bachelor, so i didnt let down a whole family. Wheelchair life sucks, but ive made the best of it. Not a thing i cant do except for walking. If you're afraid of dying, than you havent truly lived a day
Great attitude my friend
Amen brother.
Best attitude to have right there when that horse bucks ya no matter what at least try it again and with some extra wheels ya went back to it keep that head held high brother and keep after it like you said here snatch life up and just f$&k it up from here on out brother 😊
i’m fourteen and i’ve been racing for the past couple years and i seen 3 people get paralyzed already. this past summer i was at a pro national riding the amateur day and i came over a jump and hit a kicker and side ways which launch me off of me bike and i landed head first into a bank which ended with me being knocked out with a snapped neck but lucky i’m not paralyzed and i’ll be back on the bike next season
Thank you for sharing fighting cancer this helped me
Dale you've got to get JB on Rogan's podcast. I would love to see Joe's reaction to some of these stories!
I think he has been
Rogan don't give a flying fck just like dale he just makes money from both
yep!! great combo
@@Ticeracing33Dale has been not JB
Joe sucks
As a 28 year old man that grew up in the inner city of Philadelphia there is something different about these types of men. There’s city tough and then there’s country tough and JB is the epitome of country tough. Nothing but the highest amount of respect for these men and the work they put in day in and day out without notice. “Ranching is an art with no audience that will never know you existed” God bless cowboys
🫡🇺🇸
I’m just a couple of minutes into this recording and I just want to say, Thank you for taking your time with your fans. Especially this day and age. Kids need real role models and people to look up to. I am aware of the lasting impacts it has on a fan that you took even just a second to spend time with them. I got a teary eyed when I got to meet Boots O’Neal and spend some time with him. Kids will remember it for ever.
JB signed my hat on the way in to the arena when he rode Bushwacker in 2013. still have that hat and remember it like yesterday. Meant a lot to me
I love to see you guys do this we are fans there’s a lot of us just sit back and watch from afar South Dakota huge fan of jb
It’s a podcast lol
I drove 4 hrs one way thru the night just so i could get my pic and autograph from JB (found him at a bullrinding school) and he abliged. I was one happy old lady. I got my pic and autograph. Turned around and drove 4 hrs home. Worth every min of every mile.
The fact JB was walking around with a broke tibia shows just how much of a badass he is
He broke his neck the other week.. crazy surgery with rods and screws and had to retire
Yep
It's not if you get hurt riding it's when and how bad
yuh he said something like that years ago.
@@alecdeflorio9941
All the slams these guys take let alone the bull coming down on them people don't understand the abuse these guys go through and they keep getting back on for more. Slams that would take you out getting tossed off straight to your back or on your head wind knocked out broken fingers torn ligaments etc. Tough
When JB said he didn't like anyone else taking care of his bulls! TRUE COWBOY! GOD BLESS
JB went into his career for one thing and that was to be a legend and leave a legacy that will never be forgotten.. his attitude and outlook on the matter is exactly why people who don't even follow bull riding know who he is and what he's accomplished..
That's why I'm here
I don’t think JB is gonna retire… he’s gonna quit riding and now search for the meanest SOB that no one on the PBR tour will want to ride.
@@toyotaecw😅
No not now
@@Npierce-yz6zd what are you trying to say
keep it simple its just 8 seconds, JB WILL ALWAYS BE A BADASS
JB is like the cowboys of old when the West was wild and free. Last of a dying breed.
I met JB today, his arm was hurt and he used his other hand to lift it to shake my hand. Tough bastard and a class act
I'm a Granny in Texas and adore JB and his grit!! Bad to the Bone! Be blessed young man!!
True Grit 🇺🇸
I could listen to his stories all day I'd love to hear the juicy stories the not rated for CZcams kind. He's a legend and he's still young enough that he's got years to enjoy the hard work he'd put in that earned him that respect.
Same he's got a voice I could listen to all day handsome looking as well as very talented. Ain't no way he would have quit jb only stopped cuz of this huge incident that could end him. May he enjoy the rest of years doing what he's doing
JB talking about his experience, near death, damn near forced to retire. Literally so emotional. How is he not crying! I’m over here tearing up!
In the words of JB "I'm not a puss" 😂
I don’t think that dudes ever cried
Fr
I'll never get tired of listening to life according to JB. I've learned more about resilience and authenticity from him than anywhere else. No matter what he does going forward he will change lives! He always does! Good luck always to the Mauney family!!!!
Glad to see jb back on the podcast love listening to him talk about his ranch he's smart tough cowboy!!! Respect!
Llaw6ryyz Lee. Prac. Use ok
We need a jb and joe rogan podcast session soon 👍
That is a Cowboy and not just bull rider. JB loved it and not just for the money (i am sure the money was nice tho, lol). But the challenge to be the best at whatever he did. Love the comparison to professionals today. JB seemed to not ride for the fans and to teach anyone. But seemed he did more for the fans and teaching than anyone will ever know. He was JB and that is why people love and loved JB. I would love to listen to JB talk and tell stories of his life. No way better to learn and enjoy than to listen. Love the podcast Dale. You are a true humble and respectful man. Thank you
I’m a grandma and I always love watching JB and love hearing what he is doing now and about his family and I watched all the show ❤ glad you had JB on the show
The Greatest bull rider to ever live!! Excellent podcast gentleman!
Thank you, Dale, for bringing your friend to us in this interview. It is such a relief to see JB looking so healthy and sounding so "JB." On a side note, I found the discussion of how much effort JB puts into working his bulls fascinating. I'm a rodeo fan but have no real contact with that culture. Even though I know the work that goes into training horses and stockdogs, I had no idea how much effort goes into prepping bucking bulls. I have a feeling JB is as exceptional in how he does that as he was in riding bulls. JB style is above and beyond.
Howdy, I didn’t know who JB was 5 years ago but knew he was a classy, pleasure to watch and hear him in a podcast, God Bless, Brent…southern CA
As a kid that grew up in the panhandle of Oklahoma in a small farm house that the electricity would be out for a week during winter storm and Dad would be out in a blizzard bringing in all the stray cattle, much respect to these Texas Cowboys. 👍👍👍
@@jefferyminor3025 Keyes and Plainview school area
Im over in hooker
From caddo county in the circle of nations in Oklahoma raised from cowboys respect to all that get their ass up and kick life in the ass like these men
JB is a North Carolina Cowboy! I grew up in Colorado but my Momma is from JB’s hometown and we moved back there in 76. Cheyenne, Frontier Days was always my favorite Rodeo…It’s the campfires I remember, the bulls all run together with the exception of a few I rode that nobody ever thought I’d last to the whistle…if ya want a good campfire, gather dry wood and tell your best stories…those will be your favorite memories!
@@Krazede my apologies. I assumed he lived in Texas also and wasn't trying to be disrespectful to him or his fans.
I fell in love with bull riding because of JB. Been hard to watch without him. Still love me some bulls, but... There is no one can compare to JB. Grateful you are doing well after your injury and surgical repair, JB.
J.B is definitely the hardest bull rider badass that I’ve ever met❤
Joe Rogan needs to have him on.
One tough son of a gun! Watching your channel makes me wish I wasn't a city boy from Toronto
36 years old and hopefully has a long life ahead of him. He definitely needs to stay retired and enjoy his life with his family and cherish his accomplishments.
I grew up riding with JB in the Mid Atlantic Junior Rodeo Association. He was always winning then too lol. Was hard to beat back then as well! I have VHS tape recordings of some of the rodeos we were in together. Tells how long ago that was lol.
Hometown, MOORESVILLE, NC feller! Because I started rid’n in the “Little Britches” rodeo circuit as a young boy, (70’s)Bull rid’n was in my blood! Back then we all wanted our RCA and PRCA cards…Most don’t know what those cards represented!
JB… from one Cowboy to another….Thanks for lov’n the cattle!
If Bob’s Diner was still downtown I’d buy you a couple of “all the way” hot dawgs, then head to the Korner Pub for a few beers and a game of pool!
I know the Johnson family would be proud of what their dairy is now!
Here’s to the thrill of the whistle! 🥃
Carolina girl here n JB was the last of real cowboys from here we got guys that wear cowboy boots and hats but dk a damn thing abt cowboying or even a hard days work!! U make us proud JB Love u from the bottom of ny heart!
I'm a combat sports athlete with zero experience riding any kind of animal, but I hold bull riders in such high esteem for their toughness. An ex-girlfriend of mine was a competitive barrel racer, and around the time we were dating, she started getting into bulls. Fell in love with it as a spectator. JB is such a badass.
Good to see and listen to you guys. JB is a favorite of mine, seen him in finals and a few other cities. My daughters highlight was getting a photo with him and his signature .
Busted up young men. My last bull ride I was 37. Plates and pins and titanium joints are helpful to keep moving. But at near 70 the damn weather change is a rough ride now.
I’m glad you guys are still around to share life’s philosophy and history with everyone. I know as a veteran a few that ended up in bad shape not picking their bull rides. Life is your own, so own it, with a cowboy spirit you’re never done. Just a different rodeo. JB is rawhide tough
Thank you JB for the your contribution too rodeo you’re a legend happy retirement
Always enjoy listening to JB. Glad he’s a peace with his retirement ~ glad to his blessings coming through!
I'm glad I found your channel. Never been a big rodeo follower. I was in the conceited world of showing Arabians through my teens. Decided I was done with those people after I cleaned up winning everything with the horse I bought for $3000 at 2yrs old and went through all the training with him. Had many offers AFTER he was trained but we don't sell family members.
I love your no nonsense and casual talks.
Man I admire you all; From your Work ethic to your sense of responsibility for one another. I don’t see that often and seeing the way you all are is re assuring that there still is some people out there that are squared away. God Bless You All and Happy ThanksGiving ! 🇺🇸🦃🇺🇸
Loved this! It’s encouraging for me a girl at 37 just starting out doing and learning ranch saddle bronc riding. JB has always been a hero for me! Thanks JB for sharing with your fans and taking the time!
JB it really sucks that you didn’t get to go out of riding bulls on your terms, but I’m pretty sure that you made bull riding better that it was when you entered, so congratulations on a amazing career. It would be amazing if JB would start a CZcams channel of him and his bulls and his daily operation.
Just a legend and bada$$ ❤…. So much respect for this man!!! He’s just so real!!
Never been to or watched a rodeo but I could listen to jb talk for hours
Not that I want to know because it's none of my business but it makes somebody like me CURIOUS to wonder what a "REAL MARLBORO MAN" thinks about what's going on with the world today. And if you don't know what a Marlboro man is you're too young to understand what I'm saying anyway... Damn JB has given some the best memories that'll ever be too, not just to the sport but to the world and people who appreciate people who excel at extraordinary feats!!
I'll never forgot many moons ago i won back stage tickets to a pbr event at mohegan sun and ended up getting to be on the chutes during the event getting covered in shit and he turned to me and said I bet you won't every volunteer for this again and I said I wish I could do this for a living
LOL Quote of the day: "Like I didn't know which leg to limp on."
Nice to hear this podcast again and you brought us another legend. Happy to listen while i work!
You know you got the real deal case when you can’t stay off bulls crowd or no crowd. You see a bull, you want on. That’s the case. It’s rodeo time Dale!!!! Thanks guys!
I’m so happy jb came on!!!
I love you so much JB! Forever a "fan". Stay up.
never watched a rodeo in my life, dont think ive ever even seen a bull but JB is my hero
JB looks so good recovering from his neck injury. Bull riding just not the same without you!
My son just started riding races at Oaklawn park, Hot Springs Ak , his dad was a jockey now a veterinarian, I was a jockey then trained race horses, I grew up in Jackson Wy . We had a rodeo Wednesday and Friday night, my brother and I were Jr king and Queen of the rodeo carried the flags in all summer, anyway I sent my son JB ‘s videos about being tough and how a champion needs to be! Tough is just tough! Thx guys
Not a big podcast listener but I listened to this for the whole video working my 10 hour shift and couldn’t have been more pleased. Genuinely good people and I’d be lucky if I ever made it past 15 minutes of listening to any other podcast. 👌
Jb=the grinch but cowboy and it’s absolutely amazing!! Love how real this man is!!
I have listened to this particular podcast 3 times now and I gotta say I think this one is right there is in my top 3 favorite
jB always got a good lookin hat
Dale....thank you so very much for this podcast. I enjoyed JB's explaining the background on the training of the bulls. JB's knowledge of how the bull will buck explains a great about the animals themselves and how a person gets them to the place where they (the bulls) are as much a professional as the rider. Growing up in the era of Shoulders, Mahan, Freckles, Tibbs, Whatley, etc.....I had already heard "stories"...heck...watched some of the stories in the making. And some of them were "juicy". The other thing that came out of this was the incredible work ethic of JB (and yourself) had/have. Then there's the humbleness and the appreciation for the fan base. Yeah......true professional in soooooo many ways. Anyhow....thanks again.
Damn so emotional 😭 jb retired but man epic rides and highlights the videos w Dale doing cowboy shit one of the last cowboys
Jb is a living legend !!
Crazy a couple good ol boys chatting it up. 150k views in several days!
The best of the best! JB
I'm 46 and broke up from living a great life. In my opinion you were the greatest bull rider ever. You rode through things that is unimaginable and picked the baddest in the bunch to be the first to stay on that bull. Now always there are some great riders in other people's opinions, but you did way more than some of the other greats. I loved watching you ride.
Awesome you guys really know what you are talking about thank you I will make sure that I try and listen to you more, I hope that more folks listen to you. I am watching you from Australia, thank you
The GOAT podcast, happy to see that J.B is doing good! 🤙🤙
I did not know about this podcast. This is cool, JB I have seen him in videos only; what a cool dude. God Bless him, hope he heals.
Great video Dale. Thank you and JB for the show and I wish him the best for his and his family's future.
I really respect ✊ JB signing all those autographs that is a STAND UP MAN. LOVE ❤️ JB 🐐⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
You know, coming from Europe - I watched Bull Riding for a long ass time. Then started listening to your podcast, followed JB into the PCRA and decided to ride myself. Too old to take it serious and, even thought EVERYONE said you are one dumb ass - I did it, almost broke my back and could not walk for three days but - never felt more alive. Thank you Dale, thank you JB.
This is fantastic. JB!!! The best ever.
JB is a legend and always will be this man shits spurs and pisses gasoline and i have a feeling hes raising a little jb cowboy up lets hope he follows dad
Nice to see the best and second best bull riders of all time
J.B. said he watch Lane and you can tell with the bulls and the fans. Gonna miss seeing him ride but thankful we can watch CZcams videos.
Awesome. This is the best one yet. Champs talking champ stuff. 🤙🏻
I could listen to ol JB and Brisby talk all the time. Another good'un boyss.

Thank You JB for not bringing a mini hotshot
So great to see J B looking good ol son love hearing he’s thriving workin them bulls he has a special place in my heart prayed he would heal up an keep in touch with the bull riding circuit
Great podcast!
God bless you JB
Love listening to JB's stories..howdy from Alberta...
I❤ JB MAUNEY🤗🤗, HE'S THE BEST👍👍👍
A.C.D.F. surgery, two disk replaced, 6 screws, and 2 titanium rods. I can understand J.B.'s pain. Dropped a spoon on the kitchen floor day after I got home, picking it up was not an option. Couldn't lean over.
Going to miss watching J.B. ride!
The True G.O.A.T. OF BULL RIDING..
Loved this. Can't wait to see more
Always great to hear from the greatest to ever do it.(Both of you) Getting in the mindset to ride this weekend! Much appreciated.
Glad I got to see you when you showed up as a surprise in Jackson Mississippi at the Dixie Nationals this year. Congrats on a legendary career.
The work piece at the end of this was priceless.
I wish all of the American public was forced to listen to that part, every. single. morning.
Respect guys, great conversation.
We will miss you JB.Looking forward to watching your bulls.GOAT…
I’m so glad I got to see JB this late July in Spanish Fork. Wishing him all the best! ❤️
Excellent podcast, thank you. Dale, prayers for the shoulder.
11:27 I would LOVE to see some pictures of the Meet & Greet line for JB. I just tried googling it but nothing came up. 11mins in and already this pod is bringing smiles to my face! 😊
43:36 could listen to you guys talk all day. That said, I know the “goal” is to get JB on Rogan but I honestly think Dale + JB on Rogan may be even better. I think Dale would be able to bring out stories from JB that he may not otherwise share, as humble a guy as he is. 🤠
Good plug for RedTail Welding and Construction!
This shit is TRUE cowboy ....hell yeah!!!
Best bull rider iv ever seen.
JB is one of my favorite bull riders
Legends. Been looking forward to this episode.
JB is the best bull rider that’s ever got on a bowl. This is the only reason I ever watched bull riding was because of JB and just as personality and Holly carries his self. He’s the marble man the best bull rider that’s ever got on a bowl JB.
I'm 40 now, and was a career paramedic & firefighter.
Now I have a medical condition that has caused me to stop being able to do the job that I loved.
I was hard up. But realized that the time I was now given...I've gotten to invest into my girls.
They are my reason to get up.
Don't give up.
God's got sumthin'
Thank God hes not dead man
is this JB after his last injury? Ive been trying to see if the man was okay after his surgery and retirement. LEGEND.
I ran around in when we was teenagers and raised hell. But once he when pbr it was here and there everyone got together and did what we did but man we sure have drank a lot of alcohol together 😂 now I don’t even drink. Last time I spoke and seen him was the last time he got on a bull at Jerome’s event and he signed my daughter’s hate before the event started. But I ain’t seen him since moving to tx. But a wild guy and good friend in are younger years. I wasn’t build for riding bulls roping was my thing 😂 so we went are different ways.
As someone from new york i love these people .
